July - August 2009

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.    (1 John 5:19-21)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our great and blessed Lord,

It cannot be denied that our world is in a mess today both physically and spirituallyHatred, crime, apathy, deception, piracy, and immorality are rampant everywhere, and things don’t look to be getting better any time soon.
What’s worse is the church doesn’t even seem to be making a positive impact on society, rather it is part of the problem.  Yet, it brags of doing more and spending more for the cause of Christ.  So why aren’t things getting better?   There are more fundamentalist churches in the world today, more missionaries, and more soul winners.  So why isn’t there more revival in the world than any other time in history?  Something is terribly wrong!
Those of you who know your Bible, realize we are at the end of the church age, in a time of utter apostasy, right before Jesus returns.  Jesus prophesied this would happen, so it should be no surprise to us. But it is disappointing.
Even the once great Independent Baptist movement is swelling with apostasy, and is almost to the point of doing more harm than good.  While most dogmatically claim to be Bible Believers, it’s apparent very few are even Bible Readers, as the majority are departing from sound Bible doctrine to embrace worldly teachings, secular psychology, and modern man-made programs, instead of good, old-fashioned Holy Ghost preaching.
The Christian world has its parallel in the political world, where people are waking up to the rampant corruption in our governing body.  They have grown despondent with the old traditional parties who are making things worse instead of better, and this has given rise to what the news media is calling Independents.  I pray the same will soon happen in the modern fundamentalist movement, as the old factions seems to be getting worse instead of better, bragging upon themselves, rather than our Lord Jesus.  What we need are some Independent, Independent Baptists!
As we watch the ridiculous spectacle before us in both the church and the world, we find it easy to get discouraged.  But as we read our Bible, we realize the reason for all this confusion is a unified hatred for truth (2 Thes. 2:10), and a growing love of darkness (John 3:19).
Thus, we’ve determined ever so much the more to get madder, preacher harder, and reach farther as we point sinners to the right gospel, the right mode of living, and the right Bible.  I firmly believe the rapture is close, and we look forward to going home shortly!  But we also desire to go out with a bang, and pray you’ll be encouraged to do the same!

PASSING OUT TRACTS

The fourth of July, Laura and I took our baby Emma with us to the fireworks celebration in East Brewton.  There, we passed out over 600 tracts.  As we walked closer to the secular music at the park, we noticed an interesting thing.  The closer to the loud festivities, the more people rejected our tracts, and the father away from the rock music, the less people rejected them.  I guess that goes to show you the influence worldly music has on people!

PREACHING IN JAIL

I preached in a jail in Brewton, Alabama on July 14th with a local pastor.  Afterwards, a young black man came up and said, “I bunk with a Muslim, and he keeps attacking me.  He says Jesus isn’t God, and he keeps asking me to show him a verse that says He isCan you show me a verse like that?
I then showed him Acts 20:28, John 20:28, 1 John 5:20, and more.
He replied excitedly, “Oh, that’s good!  I can’t wait to show him these!  These will tear him up!”
It’s great to see people excited about the word of God!

PRESENTING THE GOSPEL TO LOST MEXICANS

While not on the road preaching in meetings, we’ve been attending a good Bible Believing church in Brewton, Alabama.  One Sunday evening after church, someone backed into our car in the parking lot, and left several dents.  They offered to fix it.  And, I took it into town for several estimates.

While turning the car over to a local body shop for repair, I met another local pastor, and introduced myself as a Missionary Evangelist to Spanish Speaking People.  He told me about some Hispanic people he knew just up the street, so Laura and I went there and knocked on the door.  We found three Mexicans watching the rodeo on T.V., and I asked if I could come in and preach to them.  They let me do so.  For more than twenty minutes, I preached my heart out in Spanish, and stressed their need to be saved.  But, they all agreed they weren’t ready, so I left them tracts and New Testaments.  Please pray for their salvation.  I plan to visit them again.
As we left, I came across another Hispanic fellow.  I gave him a tract, and he replied, “Oh, the scriptures.  Thank you.  But I have this…
He then pulled out a rosary.  How sad he was trusting in his vain repetitions, instead of in Jesus Christ alone.
I then responded, “That’s not the same as the scriptures!  You need to read the scriptures,” and I pointed at the tract.  He seemed a little tipsy, so I asked him to put the tract in his pocket and read it later.  He did so, and assured me he’d read it.  Please pray he’d trust Christ as his Saviour.

PAPERWORK TO THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE

Our on-going battle with the Alabama Vital Statistics Office over acquiring our baby’s birth certificate has been anything but easy, and has kept us from traveling out of the country.  And because we can’t afford a lawyer, we have had to do all the paperwork ourselves pro se, which has been an interesting experience.
As most of you know, we had Emma Lee Juliet at home, on Dec. 10th of last year.  We immediately started the necessary paperwork, and mailed it in.  The government bureaucrats, who are against home birth anyway, said they would not accept our witnesses, and we’ve been battling them ever since.  We even contacted our congressman and state representative, and they helped get things rolling.  The state health attorney of Alabama caught wind of our adversity and called us to tell us what paperwork we needed to file in order to have a judge hear our case.
The end of July we submitted the Affidavit of Hardship with the county court clerk, and petitioned a hearing with a local judge.  That might sound easy enough, but it was a load of paperwork, and a lot of hassle.  But our paperwork was approved, and we were delighted to hear we would not have to pay any court costs!  However, instead of setting a date for our hearing, as the law says they were supposed to, they are dragging their feet.  The excuse is, “Well, you know the judicial system.  It’s anything but fast!
So now we are in limbo, waiting for a court date and the opportunity to present all our evidence to a judge that Emma is indeed our child, and was born at our home in Alabama.  Please pray for this trying and excruciating ordeal to be over soon!

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

We’re getting several calls from Honduras asking us to come and preach.  One pastor in particular, Bro. Florentino Aguilar, has asked us to come and visit four new villages he’s recently entered into preaching the Gospel.  He wants us to give teaching sessions, do door-to-door evangelism, teach on how to win souls, and more.
Pastor Alexis Flores in Guaimaca, Honduras, wants us to preach a week long revival in his area, and Missionary Erick Sanchez wants us to preach several teaching conferences in the mountains around Intibucá, Honduras.
Please pray we can get our baby’s birth certificate, and passport soon, so we can set up a time to go there and do these things.  This is a wide open door!

PRINTING

After our last prayer letter with the tract we wrote on “tongues,” we received a letter from a pastor who wanted two hundred more.  We were thrilled, and gladly printed them and sent them out.
We are enclosing a new tract we’ve printed lately entitled, “BIBLICAL WORDS OF SALVATION.”  This is one of my favorites.  I hope it’s a blessing.  More are available if you so desire to order them.

A PERSONAL NOTE OF ENCOURAGMENT

The end of August we received a phone call from Gail Riplinger (author of New Age Bible Versions).  We talked for some time, and she greatly encouraged us by telling us she appreciated our ministry and strong stand for the word of God in Spanish.
She also stated in her estimation I was: “The foremost authority on the Spanish Bible,” and said she liked my book about the problems in the modernistic Gomez Spanish Bible version.
She later sent us a complementary copy of her new book entitled, “Hazardous Materials: Greek and Hebrew Study Dangers: The Voice of Strangers: The Men behind the Smokescreen Burning Bibles.”
It does an awesome job of exposing the men behind lexicons and false bible versions as cross-dressers, sĂ©ance attenders, social drinkers, occultists, and followers of Madam Blavatsky.  I highly recommend you to get a copy!  She even endorses our Spanish Bible Version in her chapter on foreign language translations!

POSTING VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

We’ve been trying to figure out ways to reach more people with the truth about the Spanish Bible and why both the 1865 and the modernistic Gomez aren’t perfect, and why our 1602 Purified Spanish Bible is the best.  We finally came to the realization that since so many people look up YouTube© that it’d be a great place to present the facts.  So we taped a brief video presenting facts about the Spanish Bible, which we will be posting soon.
A special thanks to Jeff Johnson for buying us a video camera with easy upload to YouTube©.  More videos about the Spanish Bible in both English and Spanish will be posted soon, as we desire to flood the internet with information on the Right Spanish Bible, especially now with such a weighty endorsement from Gail Riplinger.

PERUSING A DVD ABOUT THE DATE OF THE SECOND ADVENT

Several months ago a friend sent me a DVD by a pastor entitled: Daniel’s Timeline.  His teachings focus on God’s calendar, and in the course of his presentation he gives some compelling evidence of when he thinks the Second Advent might be.  We’ve included a copy of this DVD for you in this prayer letter, but with the following disclaimer:  The views and ideas expressed in this DVD do not necessarily reflect our teachings.  Nor do we endorse the speaker, as we don’t know much about him.
So few Christians practice discernment nowadays, and we thought it’d be worthwhile for you to discern this video for yourself.  I’ve watched it several times, and it gives me a great sense of urgency (something I believe is truly missing in Christian circles), and strengthens my faith in the word of God, and the promise of His soon appearing.  We hope it might be a blessing to you as well, as you discern the truths presented in his video.

A PERSONAL TESTIMONY OF FAITH

With this prayer letter, which is already lengthy and accompanied by a tract and DVD, we also want to give you a word of testimony from a lady in Mississippi.  This is an older word of testimony from several years ago, but none the less important.  It’s from a young lady who read our tract on “THE BLOODLESS GOSPEL” and was saved because of it.  I hope it’s a blessing to you, and if you’re not saved, you’ll put your complete faith in the SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, just as the lady who writes to us did!

Because life isn’t worth living unless we’re serving our Lord Jesus Christ,

            Robert and Laurabeth Breaker
            1 Sam. 12:24!

LETTER FROM THE LADY IN MISSISSIPPI:

“Dear Mr. Breaker,

My name is (_______) and I am from (_______), Mississippi.  I am writing this letter to express to you how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to read your tracts on faith, justification, and the blood-less gospel.  They were so helpful to me in a time of great struggle.
I began struggling with my salvation nearly a year ago.  My entire life I was raised in church, had a good Christian family, and I was even a member of my high school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  I knew a lot about Jesus and the Bible, and trusted Him to help along the way in high school, and also in college.  Never during my 20 years had it ever occurred to me that I was not saved.  I was basing all of this on the fact that around the age of seven I made a profession of faith.  I had never doubted for one minute that I was not saved.  However, during a visit to my grandparents’s house…last Thanksgiving, my eyes were opened to the fact that I may not be saved.  I honestly could not answer the question about where I was going when I died.  The unassurance I had about this fact was making my life miserable.  I was constantly overwhelmed with thoughts of how terrible Hell would be.  I was losing sleep, I couldn’t eat, and I couldn’t understand why I didn’t know for sure that I was going to Heaven.  Christmas vacation was not much of one for me since I was having anxiety attacks and problems with depression.  I had never experienced anything like this before, but I knew exactly what was causing it…
In talking to one of my friends on a Monday night, I realized that I was not saved.  So I set out to get saved that night.  She read to me from Romans and I said the sinner’s prayer.  When I left that night I felt pretty good, but the next day, I was miserable again.  I was plagued with questions like, “Did I pray that prayer right,” or “Was I sincere enough?
I would temporarily ease these fears with answers like, “I asked Jesus to come into my heart, and if I ask, He will come.  For a while this would help, but I was still having my doubts.”
During this time, I talked to my preacher at my family’s home church, the leader of the Baptist Student Union on my college campus, many friends, and family.  However I still could not get the answers that I needed.  All along I had been reading the Bible, hoping that I would be able to see the truth in some specific verse.  I knew I was on the right track…
…While talking to my granddaddy during the visit, he gave me the copies of your tracts to read as well.  I read them while I was there, and then brought them home to Mississippi.  I read them each time I had a question (that was sometimes three or four times a day).  It was all becoming more clear to me, that salvation is a gift.  Although I knew the scriptures, I was still trying to figure out what I had “to do” or “how much” I had to believe in order to be saved.  I was also beginning to realize the reason I had not gotten saved that night with my friend was because I was putting my trust in the prayer and my sincerity.  I was not putting my trust in what Jesus had already done for me.
In reading your tracts…it helped me to be able to give a positive, doubt free answer to the question, “Am I sure I am going to heaven with I die?  My answer is a strong 100% YES!  I am going to heaven because Jesus died for me!  It is so easy to trust in someone who is so trustworthy.  I am not going to Heaven because of anything I have done.  I am going because of what He has done.
This experience also taught me that there are a lot of people who are lost and on their way to Hell.  There was not a single person at school who told me that doubting was unacceptable.  This is such a scary truth.  There are many people who honestly believe they are going to Heaven.  Yet none of these professing Christians told me the reason I doubted was because I was lost.  Some of them even told me that it was okay to doubt.  Now I want to reach out to these people.  I believe that my experiences should be shared with as many people as possible, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
…He is so gracious and so merciful.  He gave me chance after chance.  He was watching out for me, even when I was not saved, and PRAISE THE LORD, now I am in His hand FOREVER!  It is the most wonderful feeling in the world to know beyond any doubts that Heaven is my eternal home.  I thank God that he sent your messages my way.  They were so helpful in my biggest time of need.  Thank you so much for sharing the truth with me.  Now I am excited to go share it with others.

            Your Sister in Christ”

MY BRIEF COMMENT ON THIS TESTIMONY

This exciting testimony does a great job of showing one of the greatest problems in modern Christianity today!  As a child, she was raised in church and reared by Christian parents.  She even made a profession at an early age.  But her profession was not possession.
Many churches pressure a child to just repeat a prayer and then tell the child they are saved the rest of their lives because they did that.   This makes the sinner’s testimony based on what someone else told them.  And they usually spend their whole lives thinking they are going to heaven because someone else told them they are, not because they are trusting in Jesus alone who died in their place for their sins, shedding His blood on the cross of Calvary.
Often times, young people end up confused, and spend their lives doubting.  But instead of being pointed to Jesus, they are told to pray the sinner’s prayer all over again for assurance.  They then do this over and over, oftentimes several times a day, asking God to forgive them and give them eternal life.  But they never get true assurance, because they are trusting their PRAYER instead of trusting in Christ Jesus and His PRECIOUS shed blood.
If their first prayer doesn’t save them and give them assurance, why would they think the second, or third, or fourth prayer would?
It’s only when a person gives up trusting in his or her own righteousness, and trusts only in the righteousness of God that they are saved.
God dealt with this young lady and showed to her her lost condition.  She then turned from trusting her prayer to trusting Christ’s payment for her sins.  Now she’s saved, has assurance, and has a great desire to reach others!
Everyone claims to be a Christian nowadays, but why is it there is more sin in the world than ever before?  Could it be that many of those who claim to be Christians are like this young lady—trusting in what they SAID instead of resting in the precious blood God SHED?
I’ll let you decide.  But we thank God our tracts have been a blessing to others, and have led to other’s salvation, and have given them “Blessed Assurance” (as the old hymn says).
