Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

April 2003

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Seeing Doors Open!

The Lord moves in mysterious ways!  And sometimes it’s hard to see exactly what he’s doing until after it’s done.  Since moving here in August of 2001, I’ve been through many dangers, toils, and fears.  I’ve seen works started, and then destroyed.  I’ve been blessed with souls saved, and two baptized.  I’ve be able to travel all over this country and get out tracts and Bibles.  I’ve also had the opportunity to preach the Gospel to countless hundreds, yea even thousands.  But I’ve yet to do what I came here to do, which is to plant a local New Testament Church.
I tried twice to do just that in the villages of Magdalena and Colomoncagua, but meddling Catholics destroyed the one while “Charismaniacs” stole my people from the other.   I tried to start one in my house in the village of La Esperanza, but the adults would not come, and this turned into just a “Children’s ministry” instead of a Church.  Eventually, I began to look at “new fields white unto harvest” and prayed about moving as it seemed nothing was happening here.  I visited the town of Trujillo on the Northern Coast of Honduras and found what I thought to be God’s will, but had the doors slammed shut on me there.  In it’s place, I found many doors opened unto me here in La Esperanza where I live, and in the capital of Honduras - Tegucigalpa.
Recently, my Children’s Ministry has started back up again on Saturday’s.  The children have returned, and are beginning to listen.  Please pray for them, as there are two older kids who are a real hinderance, and are leading the younger children the wrong way.  All I can do is pray and preach to them their need to be born again.  And even though they are a real pain at times, I’m thankful to have the opportunity to put up with them so that they might hear the truth.
Also on Saturdays, I’ve been asked to start teaching in a local Bible Institute here.  I’ll begin in May teaching for one hour on the subject of “Roman Catholicism.”  Please pray for this endeavor.
A door of Bible Study has opened up also, as twice a week now I study the Bible with my neighbors who are very excited about it.  I’ve also been teaching English to those who are interested, and have a small class coming on Saturday.  But my heart is in planting a church here.  Nelson and Zenia both desire the same thing, so the end of this month we found a small building in the area where they live (in Tegucigalpa) and rented it to begin holding services.  It is a long drive from my house (three hours each way), but it is worth it.  These two are the best converts I’ve got and I’m enjoying working with them.  I’ll be traveling there every Sunday to preach and then on Monday I’ll teach them Bible.  Please keep this in your prayers.
I remember while on Deputation that Bro. Danny Farley in his Mission’s Conference in Houston, Texas said that the city is where Missionaries should go, as that is where the people are.  I’ve never forgotten that, and it looks like God is steering me that way - to the big city of Tegucigalpa (of over one Million people).  If that’s where he wants me, then that’s where I’ll go.  Our building is in a very populated area, and we have already done some visitation and given out many tracts.  Please keep this in your prayers, as we’d like to see a good sound Bible Believing Church started in that area.

Souls Saved!

April has also been a month of some fruit.  One Sunday afternoon, my children came by and asked me to go with them to the Baptist Camp behind my house.  They have services there every Sunday for children also.  I went, and had the priviledge of leading three young people to the Lord afterwards through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ!

The Scriptures!

While just trying to do right, preach straight, and contend for the faith, I’m starting to get some feedback in relation to the Scriptures in Spanish.  It seems I’m number one on the “Fundamentalists hit list” when it comes to the Spanish Bible.  Most “Fundamentalists” use the corrupt 1960 Spanish Bible.  (It reads along with the very corrupt Westcott and Hort Text on many occasions, and is not true to the Textus Receptus nor the King James).
Before coming to Honduras as a Missionary, I studied the Spanish Bible Issue in detail and wrote a book entitled “A Brief History of the Spanish Bible.”  Since then, I’ve seen it put on the Internet, and have been getting many responses from people who want the true words of the Living God in Spanish.  Because I’m standing against the 1960, and for a purer Bible in Spanish, one Mr. Calvin George (A self-made “scholar”) has accused me of “attacking” this Bible, and has put me down as Public Enemy number one on “the Anti-Fundamentalists list” in the topic of the Spanish Bible.  But my desire is only to see the Spanish Speaking people get the pure words of God in their language.  The 1909 revision is much better than the 1960, and the 1865 revision of the Spanish Bible is even better than them both.
Lately, there has come a revision of the Spanish New Testament by a Church in Monterrey, Mexico that is based upon the Textus Receptus, the King James, and all versions of the Bible in Spanish before 1602.  It is called the 1602 TR (Textus Receptus), and the purest Spanish New Testament to date.  If you are interested in this ever growing “Spanish Bible Issue” and desire more information, please visit my website at:  www.robertbreaker.com/honduras/honduras/html.   Please study this issue for yourself, as God’s pure words are the most important thing in the universe, and it’s important that all Christians know and have the truth in their language!
Thanks again for all your prayers and continued support as I’m trying to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in the midst of ever growing peril, ignorance, and apostasy!

Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,
            Bro.  Robert Ray Breaker III

This is Mr. Calvin George’s Website accusing me of “Attacking” (While he attacks others on the list).  Apparently I have my own group.  And I didn’t even know it! (See the bottom line).
I sure hope they don’t start calling people who refuse to use the corrupt 1960, “Breakerites!”
That’d be just plum awful!

The following is a quote from one Mr. Jose Flores, a consultant to the 1960 Spanish Bible revision committee, in his book “El Texto del Nuevo Testamento,” published by CLIE, 1977 page 232, concerning the 1960:

“ONE PRINCIPLE ADDED TO THE FIRST LIST OF THE REINA-VALERA 1960 REVISION COMMITTEE WAS THAT WHEREVER THE REINA-VALERA (1909) VERSION HAS DEPARTED FROM THE TEXTUS RECEPTUS TO FOLLOW A BETTER TEXT, WE DID NOT RETURN TO THE RECEPTUS. POINT #12 OF THE WORKING PRINCIPLES STATES: IN CASES WHERE THERE IS A DOUBT OVER THE CORRECT TRANSLATION OF THE ORIGINAL, WE CONSULTED PREFERENTIALLY THE ENGLISH REVISED VERSION OF 1885, THE AMERICAN STANDARD VERSION OF 1901, THE REVISED STANDARD VERSION OF 1946 AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRITICAL COMMENTARY.”
