Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

August 2003

Dear Fellowlabourers in the Vineyard of the Lord,

Even though the 1865 Spanish Bible says that Satan is “finished” (acabado) in Ezekiel 28:15, the truth is he is still busy attacking the work of the Lord.  We are seeing his opposition daily here in Honduras.  But all glory and praise be to God!  For He is faithful (1 Cor. 1:9), and is blessing us here in spite of that old Dragon’s chicanery.

This month, I finished teaching my first semester at a local Bible Institute.  My class was about “Roman Catholicism” and I taught many Indian people about the evils of this false religious system.  They learned so much, and enjoyed the class so well, that they have asked me to teach again next semester on the subject of “Prophecy and Eschatology.”  Please pray for this endeavor.

The 22nd of August, I had a Jehovah Witness come over and visit me.  The young men that I am studying Bible with on Tuesday and Friday nights told me he was “bothering” them continually with his false doctrine, and that they would like him to visit me.  This he did, and we had a very long discussion.  Every time I showed him a verse on Hell, he would always say, “Oh, that’s just symbolic!”  I became so frustrated that I took him to Luke 16 and showed him the rich man in Hell talking about his “torments.”  He said that was “symbolic” to him as well, so I did the only thing I could think to do to reach him.  I arose from my seat, went over to the boy and punched him on the arm.  Then I sat down, gathered my composure, and asked him, “Did that hurt?”  He replied, “Yes, as a matter of fact!  What did you do that for?”  I responded, “Well, to me, it was just symbolic!”  To make a long story short, he began to understand what “torments” were, as I continued to show him verse after verse that he didn’t want to see.  But he decided to continue being deceived and follow his false religion and continue in his heresy of denying the Trinity, and teaching that there is no Hell.  What a shame!  Please pray for him.  His name is Gotier.

The children have come back again on Saturdays at my house.  It has been a blessing, and I’m enjoying teaching them again.  They are all a little better behaved, but not much.  Please pray for them.

Things in our little church in El Carrizal are going as well as can be expected.  We are having problems with the landlord of the place, and he is turning off the electricity at times.  Although he doesn’t do it during services, he does cut it off when I’m not there, and this is hard on Nelson and Zenia who are trying to read and study the Bible in the evening.  Please pray that God would help to resolve this situation.

August 31st, was a real blessing, as we had three saved Sunday evening.  I preached a message entitled, “Some things that God Demands!”  I showed them that God demands sinless perfection, but since no one has ever been able to meet that one, God demands that they have a blood sacrifice for their sins.  I continued by showing them that God demands payment for sin (Hell!), but that Jesus had already paid for their sins on the cross.  I finished by showing them that God then demands Faith in the Blood of that sacrificial blood atonement for them to be saved.  After service we had three saved!  One of them was Rumelia, Nelson’s twelve year old sister.  What a blessing this was!

Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

Because He died on Calvary for a wretch like me,
