Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

March - April 2014

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.     (Romans 8:22-23)

Greetings from a very frustrated Breaker family,

That’s right, we are so perturbed by what we see going on in the world today. The above verses state it well. Not only does the whole creation “groan” and “travail” but so do we within ourselves as we see these last days grow worse and worse and we anxiously await the rapture (i.e. the “redemption of our body.”) Please come back soon, dear Lord Jesus!
I hate to write one of those “whiney” prayer letters, complaining about how awful everything is and how horrible things are. But, I also like to speak from the heart every so often and tell people how I honestly feel about things, so here goes. I hope this prayer letter doesn’t drag you down in the dumps, but rather encourages you as what we see going on in the world today is just confirmation that Jesus must be coming soon!
March and April haven’t been the best of months. Cars have broken down, we’ve gotten sick, and we’ve heard the heart-wrenching news of my cousin passing away. It’s hard in such times to be joyful, but we try to press on with meek and lowly sacrifices of thanksgiving. (I’m, comforted with verses like Col. 3:15, which states, “…And be ye thankful,” and 1 Thess. 5:18; “In everything give thanks,” but sometimes that’s hard to do. Still we try.)
I’m also bummed when I look at the state of the world today. I read an article lately in which a Bible scholar wrote that the world is so degenerate today, it’s close to “biblical proportions” the utter depravity and sin that abounds. Socially, politically, morally, and spiritually, the world is on a downward spiral descending straight to the pits of hell, and it’s hard to watch. (It makes me cringe more and more just reading the daily headlines of the wickedness in the world).
Our nation is transitioning into a Socialist Dystopia, as our Constitution is continually degraded by power-hungry politicians who attempt to strip us of our God-given rights and deceive us into thinking they are just “privileges.”
Our Churches are full of people who desire to steal the praise and worship from our Lord Jesus Christ, changing the focus from bragging on Jesus to bragging upon themselves.
Even individual Christians are getting more deceitful, and I’m finding myself continually wanting to be friends with others, but viewing them with suspicion, wondering if I open up to them and try to get close to them, what will they do to hurt me and my family in the future? (We’ve been hurt so much by other Christians, it’s hard to get close any more to anyone. In fact, it’s hard to trust anyone any more in this present evil world!)
I find my only solace is in preaching the Gospel to the lost and dying world, but even that is an endeavor in itself, as many people today don’t even understand the Bible or the Gospel. Most think that salvation is by good works. And, it’s almost a “deprogramming” session to sit down and speak with such people to try to show them salvation by God’s amazing grace. (By the way, I’m enclosing a tract with this prayer letter entitled: “You Are Not Saved by Works!” I wrote it as I’ve dealt with so many lately who think they have to “work their way to heaven.” This tract does a good job of showing it’s not of works, but by grace through faith!)
So this is what we are struggling with. I want to do more for Jesus, but there are many hindrances. When I do my best, there are little results. And, when I seek His face in prayer, I find little counsel. Truly we are in the last days, and things are getting worse. This makes me want to do even more for the Lord. But I find myself continually thinking how much I wish the Lord would just come back and get us out of this mess. The sooner the better! But until He does, we’ll continue to be faithful, witnessing to the lost, and praying God will use us for His glory. Please pray for us. We need your prayers. Also, please pray for all those we’ve witnessed to these last couple of months, passed out tracts to, and planted Gospel seeds in. We truly want to see people saved!
Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support. I truly hope this will be the year that Jesus returns. But until then, we’ll “groan” within ourselves as we “go forth” with the glorious Gospel message of salvation by His finished work.
Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,

POST SCRIPT
And you thought I was going to quit there, and actually write a short prayer letter this time? Well, that’s hard for me to do. (My wife says I’m a very “wordy” person.) So much is going on, I had to mention just a couple more things. So here goes.
In April something surprising happened. I was reading my Bible one morning when all of a sudden I heard the most awful explosion. It was so loud it made us all jump, and so powerful it shook our entire house, even rattling the windows. This happened again a few minutes later. To this day, no one has been able to explain it. Some say it was a “sonic boom” from an airplane, but I’ve heard those before, and that wasn’t it. Others say it was bombs dropping at Eglin Air Force Base across the bay from us, but I’ve heard and felt those before, and none were ever that loud or powerful. (Besides, they claim officially that it wasn’t them!) So we still don’t know what it was. (Nor does the local News Media. They can’t explain it).
It did make me curious enough to pursue further study, and I’ve found that things like this have been happening all over the U.S., and even all over the world. Some sources say that before huge earthquakes, there are often times unexplainable boom noises, and some Youtube videos even show that this has happened all over the middle of America and is possibly caused by the New Madrid Fault line, and is a precursor to a possible impending giant earthquake. I don’t know. I just thought it worthy of mentioning, as it was quite dreadful, and kind of went along with the “theme” of this prayer letter, and the whole “earth groaning” thing.
If you have heard something like this where you live, let us know. We’d love to hear about it. There are so many strange and amazing phenomenon happening in these last days that it’s incredible. Keep looking up! Our redemption draweth nigh!
On a funny note, I couldn’t resist telling about witnessing one Saturday at Garage Sales. I meet a man who sold jewelry on the side of the road, and gave him a tract. I noticed he was wearing a star of David chain, so I asked him if he was Jewish. He said, “Oh, yeah, I’m Jewish on my Mom’s side!” I then asked him which of the twelve tribes of Israel did he come from, and his reply floored me. He said, “I’m from the tribe of Mason. ‘Cause we are Masonic Jews.
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, so I started asking him some more questions. Turns out, he didn’t know what it meant to be Jewish, and he most certainly wasn’t. His Mom took him to a Jewish synagogue once when he was a kid, and that was about the only time he’d ever gone to a formal religious gathering. His Dad was a Mason, but this guy didn’t know anything about Masonry. He just liked the idea of being Jewish, so he tried to make himself one because his Mom took him to one of their services. And, since his Dad was a Mason, he figured he must have been one of those too.
I thought about this a lot later. How many people in this world are trying to be something they are not? People like this are everywhere. They just don’t know, and have never been taught, so they claim they are something, when they don’t understand what that something is. (A lot of times they claim to be what their parents were).
There are a lot of Christians like this as well. They are playing religion. They claim to be Christians without knowing what it means to be a Christian, or better stated: how to become a Christian. They are religious, but lost.
That’s why it’s so important to preach the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and show that it’s JESUS CHRIST who saves! We can’t save ourselves. Being a Jew, or a Protestant, or Mason, etc., does not save anyone. You must by faith accept Jesus Christ and His sacrificial blood atonement on the cross for you, in your place, to be saved. It’s that simple, and that’s the message we are still trying to get out! I pray you’ll do the same.
In closing, Laura reminded me of an interesting passage of scripture as she read through this before I printed it to send it out. She remembered that story in Ezekiel chapter 9 about an angel of the Lord going and marking the foreheads of the men of the city who “sighed” and “cried” for the abominations they saw around them. These “marked men” were the ones that God spared when his judgment fell on that place. They were spared, because they “sighed” or dare I say: “groaned within themselves” when they saw the evil of their day. How about you? Do you groan and sigh at the evil of our world, or have you grown accustomed to it and even learned to enjoy it? Sometimes it’s good to just “sigh.”

TEXT OF MY NEW GOSPEL TRACT

You are not saved by works!

Although countless hordes of religious people think that salvation is based upon what they do (i.e. their own good works), this is most certainly not what the Bible teaches. Rather, the Bible teaches us that salvation is by God’s GRACE.
The Bible is very clear on this subject, for we read in Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by GRACE are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation, therefore is not something you can EARN by what you have done, rather it is a GIFT of God by His own GRACE to all who will believe.
In Romans 4:4 –7 we also read: “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Notice these verses very clearly show that working to obtain salvation is the opposite of receiving God’s gift of salvation by faith. Working for salvation means you are trying to EARN your own salvation. This puts the emphasis on you and what you do. But God’s gift of grace shows the emphasis in it’s proper biblical perspective: it’s GOD saving sinful man, not sinful man saving himself.
The aforementioned verses prove that God imputes righteous and forgives sin not based upon what man does, but based upon what man’s believes. It’s that simple.
Galatians 2:16 makes it even clearer, when it states: “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
The Bible is very clear, man is not saved by his OWN WORKS, rather by FAITH in Jesus. The question, then, must be asked: What did Jesus do to save man?
Romans 5:6 has the answer. For there we read: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly
.” Again in Romans 5:8 we read: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus Christ DIED for us, the ungodly! He did all that is necessary to save sinful mankind. It’s all what HE did, not what WE can do. It’s HIS WORK, not ours that saves.
In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, a passage known as The Gospel, we read more about what Jesus did, and how salvation is through believing in His finished work for us:
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The Gospel, therefore, is the good news that Jesus Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS, and was BURIED. Yet, He didn’t stay in the grave, for He ROSE AGAIN from the dead! Why did he do this? It was all for you!
Romans 4:24-25 further tells us: “But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification
.
According to these verses, God will impute His righteousness to all those who believe. Further, we are told that Jesus rose again from the dead “for our justification.” What is justification? It is a judicial term. To be “justified” means to be completely exonerated or forgiven of a crime. When a person trusts Jesus Christ who died in his place for his “offences,” as the verse above tells, then he is justified in the eyes of God.
Look at that word “justified.” Break it up into syllables like this: Just-if-ied. Literally, to be saved means it’s “just-if-I’d” never sinned. That is what salvation is! It’s God’s grace to forgive us of all sins, and make us sinless in His eyes! But this does not come by one’s own works. This forgiveness that God offers can only be obtained by FAITH in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, where Jesus paid for the sins of all mankind.
Thus, it’s only by JESUS’ WORK and His work alone that man can be saved. For anything a man can do can never compare to what Jesus did for man on the cross of Calvary.
Jesus Christ did all that is necessary for you to be saved. He suffered in your place for your sins. He now sits on the right hand of God in heaven waiting for you to come to Him for salvation. But that salvation is not based upon what you yourself have done. Rather it’s all based upon what you do with Jesus Christ’s work for you.
You must receive Him as your Saviour by faith. That is, you must trust in what He’s done for you to save you. You say, but isn’t that a work in and of itself? NO! For the only thing a man can do that isn’t a work is BELIEVE. God demands your Faith in His finished work.
According to the Bible, you can do nothing to earn our way to heaven. God doesn’t ask for your works, rather He asks for your faith in what He did for you at the cross.
Do you believe? Do you trust in Jesus’ work for you to take you to heaven? Or, do you foolishly believe that you, a vile sinner, can work your way to heaven? The choice is yours. Work yourself to the bone, and completely ignore what Jesus did for you; or give up trusting your own self-righteousness, and trust alone in what Jesus did to save you. For it is only through Him that you can be saved.

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher... and a teacher of the Gentiles.           (2 Tim. 1:9-11)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A very heartfelt greetings from the Breakers! It is now 2014, and I’m astonished we are still here with everything that is going on in the world. I truly thought the Lord would have come back by now! But until he does, we are active in doing what God would have us to do, which is preach the Gospel to a lost and dying world.

MAKING FRIENDS TO WITNESS TO
Lately, we’ve been trying to make friends with some locals here where we live, in order to get to know them and then have the chance to witness to him. We know they aren’t saved, but we figure if we could just be friendly, then God would open a door for us to witness later, so that’s what we’ve been doing. One man in particular I asked to come to church with me one Sunday where I would be speaking. He did, and I gave him the Gospel as plainly and clearly as I could. Afterwards, he gave me a list of verses to look up later, as he told me he believed that a person had to be “baptized in water” and “endure to the end” to be saved. How sad he didn’t understand what Jesus did for him was sufficient and nothing else is needed to be saved. It’s by FAITH, and not of WORKS! Please pray for him, as I’m still working on him. After reading his page-long list of verses, I later gave him a letter with my list of verses for him to read. It ended up being about SEVEN PAGES LONG, (I couldn’t get it any shorter!). I pray he’ll read it and get saved.

PASSING OUT TRACTS
One of my favorite tracts to hand out in both English and Spanish is the one with a drawing of a bloody, crucified Jesus Christ on the front with the words, “All This I Did For Thee,” underneath it. It does a great job of getting right to the point. Even if a Sinner won’t read the whole thing, at least he’ll read the title, and hopefully it will make him think.
One Saturday, I was passing out tracts at a huge garage sale in Pensacola, Florida, when a black man on a bicycle showed up and starting asking everyone for money. He was very vocal and belligerent, and people were going out of their way to avoid him. When he came my way, I told him, “I’ve got something much better than money,” and I pulled out that tract. When I did his eyes locked on it, and he began to back away slowly. When I’d move closer, he’d back away, and when I’d back away he’d move closer to me, always maintaining the same distance. Yet, everything he did was in slow motion. It was so weird! His countenance changed also, and he became a completely different person, eyes always locked on the crucified Saviour, and never looking away. The scary thing was his voice changed as well, and he began saying strange things, and then he kept saying he had to leave. He then slowly backed away as far as he could, all the while speaking more slowly until he finally took his gaze off our crucified Lord and then quickly jumped on his bike and sped away! It was so strange. I wonder if he didn’t have a demon. That’s the only thing that could explain it.

GETTING A TOOTH PULLED
While in Honduras, I had some dental work done years ago by a dental student there. She ended up taking out a lot of my back right bottom tooth, and adding in a lot of mercury, something I didn’t like, but I lived with it. Several years ago, I decided it was time to get the mercury removed, so we went to a dentist in Alabama who specialized in getting rid of mercury and replacing it with another kind of filling. Sadly, he didn’t do so, and left some mercury in the tooth.
After that I always had problems with my mouth, and even had frequent gland problems and constant ear infections. It was so bad, my cheek was always inflamed, and I couldn’t even stand to look at myself, as I looked so fat, ugly, and bloated. I finally figured it was probably that tooth so I had it pulled in January. I then asked the dentist for the tooth, and he gave it to me. When I got home, I saw the problem. There was a small slit in the side and the mercury was coming out and poisoning my body, causing my almost constant sickness. I’m so glad it’s gone now! My cheeks aren’t as swollen, and I really feel like a million bucks! It’s so good to get rid of that “thorn in the flesh” if you will!

RECEIVING MANY PHONE CALLS
I receive many phone calls and emails daily. And, we’ve found that our ministry is spreading widely via internet, DVD’s, CD’s, books, written literature, etc., and we are grateful that God is using those mediums today to get the Gospel far and wide.
One thing we are finding is how great the telephone is for a witnessing tool, and for teaching others the Bible. I’m continually getting phone calls from people who have read my website and have questions about the Spanish Bible, Salvation, Dispensational Truth, and more. It’s great to be able to witness when we go out, but what a true blessing to be able to witness while in your own house as well!
One funny story I have to include. We recently got a phone call from a Pastor in Honduras who calls quite often with Bible questions. This particular time he called with someone in his church who had a problem. It seems their child had shoved a grain of corn up his nose, and they couldn’t get it out! They were hysterical and didn’t know what to do. I asked them first if they had prayed, and then secondly if they had done anything about it. They had not. I then recommended they should first pray, and then find some black pepper and rub it all over the child’s nose and upper lip. They said they would. I got a phone call later in which they informed me that the grain of corn had come out! How funny!

WORKING ON ANOTHER DVD
Most of you know we had Bro. Kent Hovind come to Honduras back in 2005 and tape his series on Creationism in English with a Spanish Interpreter. Creation Science Evangelism has since sent that DVD out far and wide to Spanish-Speaking People. It is, however, very long (7 DVDs in total in both English and Spanish). So in English they have made one single highlight DVD, which hopefully will make people want to order the entire 7 DVD set.
Recently, they thought it would be a good idea to do the same in Spanish, and I was asked to translate for Eric Hovind, the main speaker, who introduced each summarized section. We filmed in a studio in Pensacola, and after he spoke in English, I translated in Spanish. It was a lot of fun, and the DVD is now finished!
I have a friend who will soon mail the DVD out to Spanish-Speaking churches across the nation, starting in Texas. The idea is the church will want a Spanish-speaker to come to their church and preach, and that’s why my address, phone, and other information are on the end of that DVD. So hopefully, in the future we will get many wide open doors to preach revival, mission conferences, teaching sessions on Creation vs. Evolution, and much more in Spanish. Please pray for this!
Once again, thanks for all your continued prayers and support. They mean more than you know. Times are tough, but God is still on the throne and doing things with us, and we count it an honor to have the privilege to serve him with you all!

November - December 2013

For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day... we preached...the gospel of God.
(1 Thes. 2:9)
Dear fellow warriors in Christ Jesus our Lord,

The year has come and gone! We are that much closer to the soon return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! (The sooner the better). But these last two months have been full of highs and lows.

TRAVELLING TO MEXICO
On December third, I flew to Mexico for two weeks. There, I spent a week in Monterrey at our home church, and then another week in Tampico preaching at a Spanish Bible conference. I had a great time, but I fell very ill with what I think was an amoeba, and was unable to keep anything down for over three days. I was so sick I was going in and out of consciousness while trying to rest. I also lost 15 pounds through this whole ordeal. It was horrible! (But in a bittersweet way. It’s always good to lose a few pounds! Amen?) But I endured it for the cause of Christ.
Even though I missed an entire day of the conference in Tampico due to illness, I was able to show my slide presentations during the rest of the conference on the topics of: the Spanish Bible, its history, and those people behind its translation. The people were very grateful, and enjoyed learning.

STUDYING THE BIBLE
While in Monterrey, we studied the Spanish Bible almost every day. We are looking at verses and scrutinizing them and checking to see if they are as close to the King James as possible. We had several 13 hour days and even one 16 hour day of study. We figured it out later that we spent about 54 hours in only four days of studying. Yet it didn’t feel like that long. When you really get into the word it is so comforting and fun! I love the word of God!

TRAVELLING TO SOUTH FLORIDA
After arriving home, and my wife nursing me back to health, we drove to South Florida to visit my wife’s family for the holidays. (My Mom was nice enough to travel from Oklahoma to stay with my grandmother for us to do this). We had a great time at my wife’s parents, but once again I fell sick. This time I got a horrible ear infection. I had to take anti-biotics and I spent three days in bed with other medicines that kept me in a drowsy state. (I don’t remember much of the trip!) It was fun though, and we enjoyed our time with family in spite of the fact that Emma also got the chicken pox. She’s only five, but somewhere she picked it up and gave it to her sister and cousins. So December has been a month of sickness all around.

CONTINUALLY TALKING TO PEOPLE ON THE PHONE
At home, I’ve been busy working on the Spanish Bible. I’m going verse by verse translating from the King James, and that is just for me, as I’m enjoying doing it for practice. While doing so, I’m also checking the Valera 1602 Purified, and if there is a place that it needs to be closer to the King James, I’m writing it down and sending it to our home church in Monterrey. They desire the work to be done correctly so we are reading and re-reading it. This is tedious work, but I’m so thankful for the E-sword Bible software program, which allows me to go verse by verse with the King James and the following Spanish Bibles: 1569, 1602, 1865, 1909, 1960, and the modern Gomez. I am sure finding a lot of problems in these versions! But I’m also finding what I’ve always known, that the Valera 1602 Purified is indeed the best. But that’s just my opinion after having gone through probably three-quarters of the Bible in these versions VERSE by VERSE.
While working at home in my office, I get phone calls all the time from hispanic people asking me Bible questions and wanting me to teach them doctrine. I answer them as much as I can, and it’s a blessing that they are reading my website and contacting me. Many want a Valera 1602 Purified Spanish Bible, and I’m able to point them to the publishing company in Tennessee where they can obtain a copy. They are so thankful. It’s so sad that modern Spanish Bibles are so horrible, with so many errors, mistakes, misprints, and problems. What a blessing to point people to the purest Spanish Bible out there!

PONDERING THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST
While I was sick laying in a hotel bed in Tampico, Mexico, trying to rest, but having to get up every so often to vomit, I had time to do some studying about something I’ve been hearing a lot of lately. That is the “Blood Red Moons.” Have you heard about this? This is really being talked about a lot by many Christians today, and it is quite interesting! It turns out that there have been several times in history when the moon turned red three times in the same year, each time during the three feast days of Israel. And, it’s about to happen again! Each time this happened, something big happened in Israel. It’s almost like these were signs that God gave Israel. The following graphic below gives several of these and the dates they correspond with:

This is amazing! For 1948 was the founding of the nation of Israel. 1967 was the six-days war, in which against all odds, Israel won against it’s oppressors. And the interesting thing about 2014-2015 is that during these up-coming red moons, there will also be several SOLAR ECLIPSES, something that hasn’t happened before. Could this be the year of the rapture, and the year when God goes back to dealing with the Jews? It’s an interesting topic. You can find more about it on Youtube by looking up “red moons.” I hear the famous TV evangelist John Hagee has a video on Youtube about it as well. (I haven’t watched it, as it’s very long, but I plan to do so).
With the way the world is going, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Lord was to come back in 2014 or 2015. If he doesn’t, well, a man can dream, can’t he?
Thanks again for all your continued prayer and support. We need it and them. Times are getting tougher, yet we find God is faithful. We haven’t missed any meals, (at least not on purpose).
God bless, and may you continue to preach the Gospel to the lost and dying world. I’ll close this prayer letter with a little poem I penned a few days ago. I hope it’s a blessing.

Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,

1 Sam. 12:24!

My poem:

Time is short,
The rapture near,
Sin abounds,
But have no fear,
Christ is coming,
Soon we’ll be gone,
The world won’t touch us,
When we’re with the Son!

September - October 2013

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord ... knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(Eph. 6:7-10)
Dear fellow laborers in Christ Jesus our Lord,

September and October have come and gone as this year whizzes by. But God has given us many opportunities to serve him, and has opened some doors for us in the future.

WITNESSING THE GOSPEL OF 1 COR. 15:1-4
The last two months, I’ve had a chance to have some guests over, and I’ve enjoyed being able to witness to them. One of the best places to witness to people is around the table. So, it’s fun getting to know people, and then inviting them over for dinner, where I can take out my Bible and take them through the Gospel. It’s even better when you do it BEFORE you eat, as they are a more captive audience. (If they are hungry, they’ll stay till you’re done!)
At a local public meeting place I had the chance to witness to several people in October. I also had a great opportunity to talk to several folks at gas stations, and even at garage sales. One lady I spoke to at a road-side flea market asked me what church I went to after I gave her a tract. When I answered, she responded, “Oh, well, I’m Catholic and I’m going to Hell!” That opened the door to speak with her. Another person at a local shop asked about the Gospel and I was able to explain it to them at length. We’ve also given out a lot of Spanish tracts as we see more and more Hispanics moving into our area.

WRITING A NEW GOSPEL TRACT
Sometimes God plants a thought in my head that sounds like a good idea for a Gospel tract. This month that thought was “Did you know God died for you?” So, I’ve written a tract with that same title. It does well to show that Jesus is GOD, and then to prove that GOD died for your sins. I’m enclosing it with this prayer letter. I hope it’s a blessing to you.

WORKING ON A GOOD VIDEO
Creation Science Evangelism contacted me and asked me to work on a Creation video with them to get out to Spanish-Speaking people. I’ll be translating the English into Spanish and we hope to get the video out to over 150 Hispanic churches in the Dallas, Texas area. Hopefully, it will eventually go world-wide. So now I’m working hard at translating into Spanish, and then we have to tape it. Please pray it goes well.

WAITING TO GO TO MEXICO
In October, our church in Mexico contacted me and asked me to come and preach at a Spanish Bible Conference there in December. My Mom has been kind enough to promise to come and stay with my wife, kids, and grandmother while I’m gone, so it’s working out for me to go. Please pray for that meeting. I plan be there for about two weeks.

MY WIFE’S SELLING GOOD PET FOOD
With the stagnant economy, it’s getting a little tighter with us getting less support. Thinking on this, my wife has started selling holistic pet food online. We are hoping to supplement our income with this, as the product pretty much sells itself. If you are a dog or cat lover and are interested, please go to my wife’s site at:

You can also set up a way to buy automatically each month on the site if you desire. So, if you buy pet food anyway, why not buy it online and help a missionary at the same time?

WATCHING THE GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF AMERICA
Living in America, I can’t help but see the destruction of our nation taking place at an ever-increasing pace. Sadly, I find that many of my other fellow Christians still don’t see what’s really happening to our nation. For those who don’t know, we are in the middle of a Communist takeover of America by international Global Bankers. This isn’t a “conspiracy theory” but just a simple fact. Social Medicine is now here. And the powers that be are continuing their “socialist programs” to take away all our freedoms in their progressive agenda of total enslavement of the American people. I’m sure most of you know of Lord Byron who said, “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely!” But few know this same man also stated, “Socialism is Slavery!” How true. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.
All I can say is that the Lord must be coming soon, for if these tyrannical people continue to get their way, we’ll all soon be slaves to the nanny state, and they will be chipping all citizens with RFID chips which, by the way, governments have already purchased are already beginning to inject under people’s skin world-wide.
Knowing that we, as Christians, won’t go through the tribulation, I’m looking up! I ask you to do the same, but also WAKE-UP to what’s happening now. Bad times might come before the rapture. We might even see war and violence before the Lord returns. Some good websites to read with information of what’s happening are:

I’m sure there are others, but those are good ones to go to for news you can’t get anywhere else. The liberal news media certainly won’t report on what’s really happening. Thus, many people are still left in the dark. It’s time to wake-up and face the facts. I like what Paul says in Eph. 5:13-17...
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

In the mean time as we wait for the rapture, we will do our best to be faithful preaching the Blood, the Book, and the Blessed Hope! I hope the Lord comes soon, but if not, I pray our liberties will remain in place so that we might have the freedom to preach the blessed Gospel to the lost and dying world! For getting saved is the only way to be truly free from Satan’s emerging New World Order!

Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

“And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

July - August 2013

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. (Romans 5:11)

Dear fellow laborers in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Greetings yet again from the Breakers! July and August have zoomed by so quickly. Is it just me, or is time going by much faster than it used to when we were kids? Whether it is or not, Christ’s return can’t come soon enough for me. Even so come Lord Jesus! But until he returns, we serve him amidst times of absolute joy and unexpected pain.

HAVING DIFFICULTIES WALKING
The end of July I fell off a ladder while painting the house, and I hurt my left leg pretty bad. I don’t know if I broke the bone, as I didn’t go to a doctor, but I was left unable to walk for several weeks. My Mom’s a nurse and she thinks I bruised the bone, broke a blood vessel and maybe did some nerve damage. But, I am now walking again on my own, and hobbling around with the use of a cane. My leg is very weak though and I’ll have to do some exercise therapy to get it back in shape. Thank God it wasn’t any worse! But I now have a nice-sized bump on the bone to remind me of my fall!

HAVING PLENTY OF TIME TO THINK
While down with a bum leg, I had a lot of time to think these last two months as I rested and read my Bible, and God has shown me a few things. I’m going to enclose them with this prayer letter in the hopes that they will be stimulating. (Iron sharpeneth iron, Amen?). One is on the teaching of the “atonement” and what that actually entails. Did you know there are two parts to the atonement? There are. I’m also enclosing my new Gospel Tract entitled, “Have you received the Atonement?” I think it’s pretty good, but I’ll let you be the judge.
The other deals with the question of when the book of Hebrews was written. There are some who say that it couldn’t possibly have been written by Paul, and they deny his authorship. For me, I’m just a King James Bible Believer, so when my Bible says: “The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Hebrews,” I believe it! Yet there are many who claim that what’s written in Hebrews doesn’t line up with the doctrine of Paul’s other epistles. I believe I might know the answer why, and it still keeps Paul as the author of the Book. I hope it too will stimulate you to much thought, as the Book of Hebrews is probably the greatest book in the Bible about the importance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. And, if it is indeed Paul’s first epistle, as I propose, then that means that the foundation of Christianity is indeed based upon Blood Atonement.

HAVING OPPORTUNITIES TO WITNESS

When I did start walking again, the Lord opened some doors to witness to Hispanic people. Laura and I love to Garage Sale on Saturdays, as it’s a great way to meet people, witness, and pass out tracts. Often we see Hispanic people there, and I enjoy speaking with them and giving them Gospel tracts. One Saturday in Pensacola, I met an older man named Eugenio (Eugene in English) from Cuba and gave him and his family a few gospel tracts. Please pray for their salvation. I’ve seen them twice and enjoy speaking with them.
Probably the saddest thing I saw in August was a Sinner walking down the street in the town we live in. He had no shirt on, and in big letters on his back was a tattoo which read, “HELL BOUND!” How sad! People are not only going to Hell today, but they are proud of it, and want others to know they are going there. I didn’t get a chance to speak to the young man, but I’ve been thinking about him a lot lately praying for his salvation. I hope you’ll do the same.
I also have had many opportunities to speak with people on the phone who call me up and ask me Bible questions. They find my website and seek to speak with me. I can’t tell you how many people have contacted us this way, and it’s quite a blessing to minister to them. The Bible tells us to reach the world for Christ, and what a great way to do so today through the WORLD-WIDE WEB. Amen?
Anyway, thanks again for all your prayers and support. We love you all and thank you for your faithfulness.
Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,
Robert Breaker

A Little Something Extra God Showed me Lately

As you know I preach hard about the Blood Atonement. That is because very few today do so. This really bothers me, as it’s the foundation of Christianity. Salvation through blood atonement is the crux of Christianity, and what sets it apart from other “religions!” For without the shedding of blood, there is no remission (Heb. 9:22). And it is the blood that forgives (Eph. 1:7, Col. 1:14)!
Thus, I have always been active to point out the importance of trusting the blood of Jesus, shed for our sins. We are clearly instructed in the scriptures to “trust the blood” or to put our “faith in the blood” (Rom. 3:25). And in Romans we see that justification is by three things:
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his GRACE through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by FAITH without the deeds of the law.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his BLOOD, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Therefore, justification, (or salvation), according to the above scriptures are by three things: GRACE, FAITH, and BLOOD, or better stated:
We are justified by God’s GRACE through our FAITH in Jesus’ BLOOD!
But as I’ve read the scriptures more lately, I’ve learned something that I believe needs to be pointed out, that is, the importance not only of the shedding of blood, but also the offering of blood as well. You see, I’ve said it for years, and maybe you have as well, that sinners should trust the “shed blood” of Jesus Christ for salvation. But speaking just about the SHED blood is only speaking of the blood on the cross. I’ve found I was omitting the final part of the atonement, which is the OFFERING of that shed blood before God.
Let’s look at a couple of Old Testament verses in order to make this clear:
Leviticus 1:4 “And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make ATONEMENT for him.
Leviticus 4:26 And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
Leviticus 5:10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

In the Old Testament, there were two parts to a blood atonement. First, was the shedding of the blood of the animal, and in Leviticus, we are told that the Sinner himself had to cut the throat of the sacrifice. That is HE shed the blood. But even though he did that, he didn’t receive the atonement until THE PRIEST took the blood and offered it for him. So, the first verse above says that his animal sacrifice shall be (future tense) accepted to make an atonement for the Sinner. But the other verses say that the atonement wasn’t actually made for him until the shed blood was OFFERED by the priest on his behalf. In other words, blood had to be shed, but then it also had to be offered before God accepted it and forgave the Sinner.
Now looking at the New Testament, we see Jesus as our sacrificial blood atonement. He not only SHED his own blood, but HE was the HIGH PRIEST who himself took His own blood up to the mercy seat and OFFERED it before God. Hebrews 9:12 illustrates this clearly: “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
If we take the Old Testament type and apply it to Christ, then it is THERE ON THE ALTAR IN HEAVEN that we find the finished atonement of Jesus Christ. It’s not just that Jesus shed his blood here on earth, but that he also offered it to God in heaven for us. Thus, when we trust the blood of Jesus, we are trusting not only in the shed blood, but also in the offered blood as well! For that is what completed the atonement!
This might sound strange to some, but the scriptures clearly teach that TRUSTING THE BLOOD ATONEMENT of Jesus consists of trusting in the all encompassing finished work of Jesus Christ. He not only shed His blood here on earth, He also sprinkled it in heaven before God. It is a completed atonement consisting of two parts. Thus, when we trust the blood of Jesus for salvation, we are accepting His finished blood atonement for our sins! This is why the Gospel is not just that Jesus died (shedding his blood), but that he also was buried, and RESURRECTED from the dead (for after he arose he offered his blood to God).
I’ve added a gospel tract that I’ve written lately about “Atonement” with this prayer letter. I hope it will be a blessing to you. This message really needs to be gotten out! Jesus not only offers his blood to all today for salvation, but 2000 years ago he offered it to God as well. God accepted that offering, how about you?

WHEN WAS HEBREWS WRITTEN?
If you look at some Bibles, you’ll see a note that says the book of Hebrews was written in about 64 A.D. But this doesn’t make sense. Why would Paul write an epistle at such a late date that doesn’t sound like the rest of his other epistles? And why would he write to Hebrews (Jews) if he was the apostle to the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13)? It just doesn’t make much sense! That is, unless you look at the book itself and compare scripture with scripture, and then it makes sense that Hebrews was not only written by Paul, but most likely penned much earlier than once believed, and it appears the last chapter was quite possibly added on by him at a later date. Let’s explore this idea.
At the end of the book of Hebrews, in chapter 13, we read of Timothy, who we know was with Paul toward the end of his life, and we find the whole chapter is very different from the rest of the book. What if, and I throw this out as a theory, and am not teaching this as some “peculiar doctrine” that I adhere to, but what if chapter 13 was tacked on by Paul at a later date, possibly sometime around 64 A.D., right before Paul died? And what if the first 12 chapters were written by Paul early in his ministry, during the events taking place fairly early in the book of Acts?
If this be so, then we would find evidence of this, right? Well, there’s something interesting in the book of Second Timothy that gives us something to ponder, something that I always wondered why it was written there at all. In 2 Timothy 4:13 we read Paul’s command to Timothy, in which he says: “The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the BOOKS, but especially THE PARCHMENTS.”
Here we have Paul requesting Timothy to bring several things to him before he dies. Could the “books” refer to the Books of the Bible? And what are the “parchments,” and why does Paul “especially” want them? Could one of those “books” or “parchments” be his own epistle to the Hebrews, written years before?
What if at that time Paul was asking Timothy to bring him his own epistles which he wrote aforetime, and what if it is at that time that Paul added chapter 13 to his epistle of Hebrews? That would make perfect sense, wouldn’t it? For the last chapter clearly doesn’t read much like the rest of the book. And since Timothy is mentioned by name, doesn’t that just make more sense? Let’s look at some strong evidence that might prove this to be the case.
1. The Book of Hebrews (written to HEBREWS, which are JEWS) without chapter 13 would have only 12 chapters, just like there are 12 tribes of Israel. Also, chapter 12 ends with verse 29 speaking of a “consuming fire.” What a great way to end a message, with HELL! Amen?
2. What the book of Hebrews deals with seems to correspond much with what’s spoken about early in the book of Acts, which we know is a transition book in which God goes from the Jews to the Gentiles. In Acts 7 the Jewish leaders reject their Messiah for the third time, with the stoning of Stephen, and we find chapter 8 begins with “And Saul,” (which we know to be Paul). God then later chose Paul to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, but Paul first preaches to Jews. What if Paul wrote the book of Hebrews to the Jews at this time, before taking the Gospel to the Gentiles?
3. As the book of Acts goes on we find some things taking place and changing until eventually the Gospel is set in stone. What are those things? Peter first preaches to Jews and he often preaches repentance and water Baptism. He also preaches in believing in Jesus’ name (or in WHO Jesus was—i.e. the Jewish Messiah). And, there is a lot of “laying on of hands” to get the Holy Spirit. But as time goes on, this transitions to preaching salvation by faith alone, and justification through Jesus and WHAT he did for the Sinner. And the Jewish stuff is slowly phased out, as Paul goes to the Gentiles with the message of the Gospel. This would certainly explain Hebrews chapter six where Paul says in verse 2 and 3: “Of the doctrine of baptisms and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment, and this will we do, if God permit.” At that time, God went from Peter’s preaching of “baptism FOR the remission of Sins” to the Jews, to a Believer’s Baptism, or being baptized AFTER one is saved. Eventually, Paul’s emphasis was on the Gospel alone, and not on water baptism at all (1 Cor. 1:17). Also, the “laying on of hands” was no longer necessary in order to get the Holy Ghost as the book of Acts progressed. And finally the “resurrection of the dead” sounds like the signs God gave the Jewish apostles, and we remember that Peter did raise the dead in Acts 9.
4. There are places in Hebrews which make it sound that a person can lose their salvation. But Paul is clear we cannot today, as we are eternally secure in Christ. Could it apply to Acts then, in a time when a Jewish believer could have rejected Christ and reverted back to Judaism (i.e. keeping the law like those at Galacia that Paul warns against).
5. If Paul is the author of Hebrews, which I strongly believe, that means he wrote 14 books all total. (Without him writing Hebrews, you have only 13, and that’s not a good number!) If you divide those 14 books into what some call “pre-prison” and “post-prison” epistles, you have something interesting. Paul wrote 7 pre and 7 post-prison epistles. (We know what seven means, right? It’s the number of completion!) But the only way to make it seven and seven is to put Hebrews as a PRE-PRISON epistle. That would make it like this:

PRE-PRISON EPISTLES:
Rom., 1 Cor., 2 Cor., Gal., 1 Thess., 2 Thess., and Heb.

POST PRISON EPISTLES:
Eph., Phil, 1 Tim., 2 Tim., Col., Titus, and Philemon

6. In Galatians chapter one we read of Paul’s testimony of what he did after he was saved. In verses 16-18 we find Paul going to Arabia and Damascus, and then after three years going to Jerusalem to see Peter, where he abode with him fifteen days. Could Paul have penned the book of Hebrews during that time, and then spread it to the Jewish Believers through Peter? It’s interesting, as Arabia is where Mt. Sinai is (Gal. 4:25), and that’s where the law was given to Moses. Could Paul have written scripture in Arabia as well? And did he write it for the Jews before he went to the Gentiles? It’s certainly worth further study. For Hebrews is very “Jewish” in content, speaking often of “priests” and it continually puts them down while exalting Jesus Christ as the only true High Priest. This would certainly be a slap in the face to the Pharisees and Sadducees of the time which continually persecuted the early Church.
7. Finally, the content of chapter 13 and the order of the writing of Paul’s epistles show that Hebrews is hard pressed to be dated around 64 A.D. as it is so different from his other contemporary writings.

The order of the epistles of Paul are as follows:

1 Thes. 49 A.D.
2 Thes. 52-54 A.D.
Galatians 57-58 A.D.
1 Cor. 57-58 A.D.
Romans 58-60 A.D.
2 Cor. 60 A.D.
Ephesians 62 A.D.
Phil. 62-64 A.D.
Col. 64 A.D.
Philemon 64 A.D.
Titus 65 A.D.
1 Tim. 65-68 A.D.
2 Tim. 66-68 A.D.

Notice I left Hebrews out, because it just doesn’t seem to fit with his other writings during the time. Why doesn’t the entire book of Hebrews sound like what he wrote in Phil., Col., Philemon, etc., if it was supposedly written in 64 A.D.? Why so many references to Judaism in the book, if Paul during that time was supposed to be reaching the Gentiles for Christ?
When we actually look at the first 12 chapters of Hebrews, we find a writing style that almost sounds like a great learned “Lawyer” (which was what Paul was when he first got saved), and only chap. 13 sounds like the Paul we know in the Church age, which is further proof that he probably wrote chapters 1-12 first when he ran in Judaism, and then years later as an apostle to the Gentiles he tacked on chap 13 towards the end of his life and ministry.
So there it is. Take it or leave it. But I do hope you will study it out more. I’ve enjoyed reading Hebrews and Acts over and over and trying to see if Hebrews (chapters 1-12) could have possibly been written sometime before 49 A.D. by Paul. And it seems to fit! It’s also strengthened my faith. For if it’s true, then it is proves the importance of the blood atonement to the early Church, and it would also answer the question why Paul didn’t mention “blood atonement” too often in his other books. It was already the foundation of Christianity and so ingrained in the minds of believers that he didn’t need to address it much! If this idea be so, then it appears Paul didn’t want people to forget to read his epistle of Hebrews, even though it didn’t line up completely with Church age doctrine to us Gentiles, so that’s why he tacked on chapter 13, and addressed it to Christians before he died. As the author of the book of Hebrews, Paul certainly could have added to his work anytime he liked, adding an extra chapter whenever he desired to do so. It makes sense to me. How about you?
Like I said, I’m not teaching this dogmatically. I just throw it out there and hope you’ll toss it around. It’s an interesting thought, and would definitely explain why Paul told Timothy to bring the books and parchments to him in jail before he died. Timothy, then, would be the reason why we have Hebrews chapter 13, for had he not brought the books to Paul, then Paul might never have penned the final chapter of Hebrews, and Timothy might never have had it with him to give to others. (By the way, if you want a fun study, go verse by verse from Hebrews chapter 13 and compare it to Paul’s other writings, for it does sound a lot like Paul in his other epistles written around the same time, while the rest of Hebrews does not).

May - June 2013

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is
a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. (1 Tim. 4:7-10)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our most wonderful Lord,

Greetings again from the Breakers. May and June have been busy months, and went by so fast it’s hard to believe they are already over. God was good and allowed us some much needed fellowship.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS
We were blessed to have my cousin from Texas visit us in May for a few days. Then, my Mom from Oklahoma visited later for a few weeks. They kept us busy doing things every day, and it was a blessing to spend time with them, but also a little tiring. Yet, it’s always a great “pick me up” when family visits. I only wish they lived closer!
We also had many visits from old friends that we haven’t seen in years. It was strange how many people just called us up out of the blue and wanted to come visit. We enjoyed their company immensely!
In June, our Pastor, Raul Reyes, from Mexico came and spent five days with us. What a blessing to have a Pastor who cares enough about you to spend time with you! While here, we spent many hours reading and re-reading the Valera 1602 Purified Spanish Bible, and discussing various places that may need further revision. They are still working on making sure that version reads correctly and we are in the process of reading and rereading it over and over. Please pray for them and the work. The 1602 P, even in it’s current state, is still the best whole Spanish Bible available today!

FROM FAR AWAY
Even though we are in the United states, we still get many phone calls from people all over the Spanish-speaking world. Some are pastors and missionaries, while others are friends or fellow Christians. One call in June came from a native Honduran pastor who had some Bible questions. So even though we aren’t in Honduras anymore, we still find we are able to have an influence there and help the works we’ve started, and even help train local pastors. Please pray for them.

FEEDBACK
I get emails all the time from people asking about the Spanish Bible, salvation, rightly dividing, and many other Bible topics. Often I get some great emails from people who are very grateful for my website and my stand for the truth of salvation (i.e. salvation by faith in the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST, rather than by faith in one’s own works). This prayer letter, I thought I’d include an example of one of the many emails I get. You can read it at the end of this letter.

FATIGUE
Things fall apart” is the title of a book I read not too long ago by the Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. The title says it all, things do indeed: “fall apart.” So, in June I had to do some work on our house, trying to bring it up to par, because it’s falling apart. I’m replacing rotten wood siding, and painting the whole house. This is a project I put off for quite some time, but now I find I have some time to do it. I also learned some interesting lessons while working. Think of a house as a person. Many people are only concerned with their outside and how they look to others, while their inside is filthy and full of corruption. Yet others are more concerned with the inside and keeping it clean, while letting the outside go, and not fixing it up. Which are you? My desire is to make sure both the inside and outside look good.
When we are saved, Jesus cleans our inside, when he washes our soul in his precious blood. We then, need to clean up the outside as well, to be a good example to others. Yet some Christians desire to be dirty still both inside and out.
Anyway, I’ve been so tired lately with all the physical labour of fixing up this house. It’s a much bigger job than I thought. And that’s another lesson I learned: it takes W-O-R-K sometimes to get things where they need to be, just like it takes work for us to live a spiritual life. I know God’s still working on me, and I’m active working as I try to please him. But I can honestly say it’s worth it! It’s great to look back on what you once were and what you are now and see how God worked on you, just like it’s nice to look at how this old house once looked and how nice it’s starting to become. To some w-o-r-k is a four letter word. But to others, like me, it’s truly a blessing, as it produces fruit. And how sweet it is!

FURTHERING THE GOSPEL
We are still printing and passing out tracts in both English and Spanish. We find that Hispanic people in our area are mostly found in flea markets and the downtown areas, so we go there from time to time to pass out tracts and talk with them. I also love to sample their homemade tacos at times. (How carnal of me!) Also, we find Hispanic people are always going to garage sales as well, so we go early on Saturday mornings and you would be surprised how many Spanish tracts we are able to pass out in just a few hours as we go from house to house.
I also make it a point to try to speak to English speakers about the Gospel. Sadly, few today care to hear. But I’m finding that the most open ones are down-home country folk. There is a great difference between city people and country people. And in these last days, it seems like a lot of city folk just don’t care about God and the Bible. Yet, many country people still have some semblance of a belief in God, and have heard the gospel at least once from their parents or grandparents. So at least the seed has been planted, and it’s great to often hear from people we give tracts to saying things like, “Oh, thanks, I truly need this!” or “Oh, yeah, I heard about this when I was younger.
Still there is much confusion. Where we live, most people are Southern Baptist or Charismatic. And often they are religious but lost. These people are hard to deal with because they have been brainwashed by another gospel. They believe in works for salvation, and it’s hard to change the minds of people like this who have over several generations become accustomed to following tradition rather the truths of the scriptures. But we try and we trust God to open their eyes. The before-mentioned email I give at the end of this prayer letter delves into a little of those “traditions” and shows the testimony of a person who has seen the truth and gotten saved in spite of religious denomination’s preaching something other than the true Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

FUN
I am a King James Bible believer. I love the KJV. So a few months ago, I decided I’d just go verse by verse from the King James and translate it into Spanish. I also made sure to look at all the Reina-Valera versions as I did so, in order to see what words were used in those versions, hoping to retain the oldest Reina-Valera words, but making sure it truly read with the King James. It has been a real blessing to me to do this. As of now, I’ve finished the books of: Genesis, John, Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, and Jude. I’m also a third of the way through Proverbs as well, and I’ve got a Missionary friend in Spain who is helping me proofread my work.
I’ll continue on translating the rest of the books of the Bible. I don’t know if this will ever catch on or be accepted by my fellow King James Bible Christians. But it has been a real blessing for me, and I can’t describe how joyful and comforting it is to have the words of my English infallible version in Spanish, and be able to read them and see the Spanish saying what my King James does! Please pray for this endeavor. People have said for years that you “can’t translate the King James into Spanish,” but that’s a load of hooey! You can! It’s been done in over 600 other languages. So why not Spanish?

FACING THE FUTURE
As most of you know, we are taking care of my 92 year old grandmother. God gave us our family for a reason, and we count it an honor to take care of her, especially when she’s done so much for us throughout our lifetime.
Yet, as we care for her, we are unable to travel like before, and therefore have to do most of our ministry from home and in our area. We are doing the best we can, and are grateful that in our limited capacity God is still using us.
My grandmother is doing well, but is slowly losing her sight and hearing. She’s also losing weight. But she is in great health otherwise. She might even live to be 100!
Thinking on this has made me concerned about the future and what it holds for us. I greatly desire to travel and preach, but in the meantime we are keeping busy for the Lord where we are. I honestly don’t know what the future will bring. But I know I should never give up on God, nor should I quit serving him. Maybe this is all so that I can have time to translate the KJV into Spanish! Who knows. All I know to do is to continue serving God anyway I can, anywhere I can, anytime I can. Please pray for us!
Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,
Robert Breaker

Email from a lady who shares her testimony with me:
I am so very grateful that I found this [web] page of yours. I would love to talk to you, to tell you about my experience and what happened to me, it is pretty much similar to yours and your wife’s story. I questioned my salvation for over ten years. The first time anyone ever told me in my life about Jesus Christ was when I was 28. I thought I got saved at 28, but I was counting on “did I say the prayer right,” [and] “did I have enough faith?” I was putting myself into it....I bet I asked Jesus to save me ten thousand times...
My name is Barb. I started doing my own study and asking people at my church and other churches, I would just call them up. You have no idea how upsetting this was to me. I did my own research, almost every church says there are these STEPS to salvation, over sixty percent say you have to be willing to stop sinning, over forty percent say you have to admit, turn, believe, and receive. I had a pastor tell me that believing is not enough, you must ASK to receive. Some churches judge you on if you are saved based on your Christian life... They have these clever poems that are not found anywhere in the Bible.
[Like if he’s not “Lord of all, he’s not Lord at all”, etc.]
I, like your wife got hung up on those chick tracts... They cause confusion; most of those get you thinking that you have something to do with your salvation. I am telling you I struggled with this for many, many, many years... Through my studies I found out two things, most churches are Lordship salvation churches and some do not even know it. You cannot add anything to salvation, nothing at all...
Today, here is where I am, I know that when I die, I do not have a single thing to offer God of my own, I am a sinner and I am in trouble on my own. However, finally, I know that I am a saved child of God. It is ALL ABOUT THE BLOOD OF CHRIST, there is no other way. I know that Jesus died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose again. He died for us, all of us, all of the world. There are so many verses that say believe on Jesus. I finally get it....YEAH! IT IS FAITH ALONE IN CHRIST BLOOD ATONEMENT ALONE!
I was so confused for over ten years, especially when you go to church and hear the preachers constantly saying a different gospel or saying little clever sayings like "if" you are really saved then you will act this way, wear this, do this, and so on. I have learned the hard way, people probably think I am crazy, many get upset with me, but Paul said he was afraid this would happen.
It is simple to be saved, but the gospel has been tainted in many ways....thank you ever so much because you are absolutely correct. Just to let you know, my daughter is 14, last night before I found your page, I had to show her about relying on the prayer, you can ask people how do you know you are saved, they always say, “I said a prayer and asked Jesus in my heart!”
[But] I took her through Eph 2:8-9 and showed her the jailor in the prison, the thief on the cross, I have to keep going over things until she understands because unfortunately, she has heard all of what I have. Please pray for us! My husband is saved as well, he is the one who helped me understand better.

THE GOSPEL FROM FIRST CORINTHIANS CHAPTER FIFTEEN:

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures;
4 And that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures:

I just wanted to add something extra that my wife pointed out to me not to long ago as we read the scriptures together. It’s just too good to not mention it with this prayer letter. So here goes…
Notice in the passage above we read of the Gospel. But it’s not just that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and that he rose again. Look at the underlined word “how.” What an important word! It wasn’t just that Christ Jesus did those things, it’s HOW he did them! How did he die for our sins? He SHED HIS BLOOD! HOW was he buried? He was buried in the same ground that his blood ran down into, entombed by his own disciples. HOW did he rise again? By his own power, proving that he was indeed God manifest in the flesh! HOW did he do all this? According to the Scriptures. That is, he fulfilled ALL of the prophecies written of him in the Old Testament.
The gospel, then, is more than just WHAT Jesus did for us, it’s also HOW he did it! The easy answer is: by his own power and through his own blood! That’s just another reason I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation… (Rom. 1:16). God bless and remember the “how” when you preach the gospel to others.

EXAMINE YOURSELVES, whether ye be in the faith; PROVE YOUR OWN SELVES. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Cor. 13:5)
Greetings from the Breakers,

The above verse tells us to “examine ourselves.” So I’ve been taking a good long look at myself lately. I’ve also been thinking about what we as Christians should be busy doing for the Lord. I’ve also found there are many who focus on one thing in particular, rather than seeking a well-rounded Christian approach to the lost and dying world. That’s why this prayer letter is going to be a little bit different. I’m going to ask you, the reader, a question.
The question is: Which one are you? ...

… A PUTTER DOWNER?
There are a lot of Christians out there who think their “God called ministry” is to constantly attack others and put them down, or in their own mode of thinking: “put them in their place.” Their entire ministry consists of name-calling, ridiculing, and labeling others who don’t agree entirely with them, and by so doing they feel good about themselves. But where in the Bible do we find such a “calling?” It’s simply not there. And it often turns others off to the truth. The lost get turned off entirely to the Gospel when they see such an attitude. And those that are saved, often get discouraged by seeing such a great lack of Christian charity and brotherly love from such people. A long time ago I decided that this would not be a part of my ministry or something that I would be active in doing. I want to live right, preach right, and do right, but I want to be sure I’m doing it with the right attitude. How about you?

… A PRINTER OF LITERATURE?
I believe that printing good Gospel literature and sound doctrinal material is a very important part of Christianity. Since the very beginning of the Church, people have been WRITING epistles, letters, books, apologetics, etc. And there works have been helpful to other Christians. Now, mind you, the most important thing to read is the Bible itself! But it’s always been a blessing in my Christian life to stumble upon a good Christian book here and there, and I can name quite a few that have helped me tremendously, (like Clarence Larkin’s “Dispensational Truth.”)
That is why I’ve also written some booklets, tracts, pamphlets, etc., in a hopes to be a blessing to others. I would also encourage you to do the same.
(I’m enclosing with this letter my newest tract “Have you Taken the Free Gift?”)

… A PASSER OUTER OF TRACTS?
Christian Gospel pamphlets and tracts have been around for many years. And many Christians feel it’s important to distribute the Gospel message to the masses in this fashion. I desire to do so as well, and that’s why I print my own tracts and hand them out. Yet, I’ve found many of today’s Gospel tracts printed by others don’t always give the Gospel (of 1 Cor. 15:1-4) in it’s entirety or sometimes even omit it completely. Rather, they divert the reader’s attention from Jesus and what he DID for them, and instead instruct the reader to DO something in an attempt to come to God. This is atrocious! The Apostle Paul said that he wanted to know Christ, and him crucified! That’s what we should point Sinners to.
Some Christians, however, think that passing out tracts is all they need to do to make God happy. So, they do this and nothing else. I too have fallen into this thinking at times, thinking if I just give people a tract then I’ve done my duty and can be on my way. But sometimes we need to be active in doing more than just giving a piece of paper to others.

... A PRESENTATION TO OTHERS
Some people think, “Well, I’m a Christian, I’m just going to witness by my lifestyle.” They use this in place of passing out tracts, and speaking to others. This then becomes their only means of witness, and rather than take the effort to speak to others, they hope that by their own immaculate testimony, others will line up at their door wanting to talk to them.
Clearly, there is nothing wrong with being a Christian and living a Christian lifestyle. And we should hope that our testimony is so spotless that even lost people will see Christ in us. But if this is the only way someone witnesses, then they are missing out on being used of God. There is more to Christianity than just living it outwardly for others to see. If you’ll remember, that’s what the Pharisees did, and they weren’t even saved! They wanted people to see their outward mannerisms, but inwardly they were wicked and sinful exceedingly. So just trying to show others Jesus in you isn’t enough. There has to be more to it than that!

… A PREACHER TO PEOPLE?
The Bible says that God chose “the foolishness of preaching” to save the lost. We are told in Rom. 10:17 that “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” That is, someone must open their mouth and SPEAK to others and show them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s a personal one-on-one thing, and it’s something that many Christians are afraid to do. Some would rather just put down others and name call. Others would rather just print gospel literature, and hope someone else will reach the lost with their material. Still others hope a piece of paper (a Gospel Tract) will do all their talking for them, as they pass out tracts in mass and go on their way. While others delight in holy silence and hope that the living Christ will shine forth from them so brightly that they won’t ever have to witness vocally, and people will just get saved by their example or living testimony.
But there is simply no substitute for an open mouth and a clear Gospel witness of Jesus Christ. I write this here in my prayer letter not to put anyone down or to guilt-trip others into witnessing more to others. If anything, it is a confession on my part, for I usually find I’m so busy in doing the other things, that I often justify myself and my not speaking to others as much as I should about Christ and his Gospel.
It’s easy to name-call. It’s fun to print literature. It’s a blast passing out tracts. It’s joyous to live a Christian life and be a good testimony. But often I find it’s not always that fun to open your mouth to talk to people. I understand Moses’ fear of speaking more and more, especially in these last days, for opening your mouth and talking to people, especially people like those today who HATE God, isn’t always a rewarding experience. Often they will curse at you, or make fun of you, or even threaten you. And you quite often feel stupid speaking to them, often thinking things like: “What is this person going to think about me if I witness to him?” or “What’s going to be this person’s excuse for not wanting to get saved?
But, as fearful as it may be, that’s what we need to do. My Daddy used to say, “There is simply no substitute for clear and effective communication.” I’d like to change that up a little bit by saying: “There is simply no substitute for a clear and effective vocal witness of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!
I’m trying to learn to be more outgoing and more vocal for my Saviour. I ask you to pray for me. I do print Gospel literature, pass out tracts, live like I should, etc. But when it comes to opening my mouth, sometimes I find that’s hard to do. I want to speak to more people, and stop being so bashful. I’m tired of justifying the other things I do for Jesus as “enough.” I want to do more. How about you?
Because of Christ Jesus our Great and Awesome Lord and Saviour,
Robert Breaker
1 Sam. 12:24!

P.S. Please pray for all the tracts we have passed out these last two months, the people we have talked to about salvation, and the printed literature we have been blessed to distribute. Our prayer is that God will continue to use you, and we ask you to pray the same for us.
P.S.S. After having written this, my grandmother wanted me to add something else she found quite jovial. So I’ll add it in right here. We pray for our food at the table, and Emma is now four and old enough to pray for the meal. Often she prays for all her cousins by name while giving thanks for the food. But the other day she had breakfast alone at the table with my grandmother, and she forgot to pray beforehand. My grandmother said, “But Emma, you didn’t pray for your meal!” To which Emma quickly retorted: “Oh, well, that’s okay. It’s just cereal, and we don’t pray for cereal!”

COMING TO GOD FOR SALVATION APART FROM THE GOSPEL?

I’ve run into a lot of people lately who are all saying the same thing, and they all claim to be Christians. They say that a person doesn’t need to know anything at all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be saved. They claim that a Sinner can just come to Jesus and beg him for forgiveness, and he’ll save that Sinner apart from his hearing and understanding the Gospel. But is this the case? Or is this a very anti-biblical teaching?
According to the Bible, there is something a person must know before they can be converted (saved). Below I’ll give a short list of verses that show this, because according to the Scriptures, and they are very clear about this, a person must first HEAR and then UNDERSTAND before they can be saved. I encourage you to look up the verses for yourself.

Matthew 13:15 Jesus says a person must HEAR and UNDERSTAND before they can be converted!
Acts 28:24-28 vs 24 they believed the things spoken (they heard) and vs26-27 they must hear and understand
vs 28 gentiles will HEAR it.
Acts 10:43-44 vs 43 Peter said “believe” vs 44 The H.G. came on them after they heard, understood, and BELIEVED!
Acts 15:7 Peters says Gentiles must HEAR and then BELIEVE. (Hearing comes first!)
Ephesians 1:13 in whom ye TRUSTED AFTER that ye HEARD. Heard what? The GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION.
Eph. 4:17-21 Lost have their understanding darkened, they are blind (vs 18) They have not LEARNED (vs 20) Christ.
Rom. 10:13,14 vs 14 says you have to first HEAR before you can believe.
Rom. 10:17 says faith cometh by HEARING (How can you believe in something you have never heard)?
John 8:43 Jesus talks to the Pharisees and says “Why do ye not UNDERSTAND my speech?”
He then says it’s because they cannot “HEAR” his word.
Matt. 15:8 Jesus says people draw night to him with their LIPS, but their HEART is far from him.

This is why I NEVER tell a lost person, “Just ask Jesus into your heart” or “Beg God to forgive you.” Rather I take them to 1 Cor. 15:1-4 and other verses and instruct them to look at what Jesus DID for them, and TRUST HIS FINISHED WORK (i.e. his shed blood on Calvary) as sufficient to save them. It’s all what JESUS has DONE, and not what we DO that saves us! Today, we can’t come to Jesus any other way than by his blood sacrifice for us on our behalf. Why then, are there so many others, who claim to be Christians, who are instructing lost people to do just that? It’s like they are in the wrong dispensation, and they are trying to get people to come to Jesus the way people came to Jesus BEFORE the cross, and not the way the Bible tells us to be saved AFTER the cross.
Thinking on this, I reread the Gospels and Paul’s epistles, and I found some interesting things. Did you know that when Jesus came, he came only to the lost Sheep of Israel (Mt. 15:24)? And do you know what he preached to them? He preached that they had to believe he was their Messiah. That is, he told them they had to believe WHO he was.
Some say Jesus preached the same Gospel as we do today, but he did not. He could not. For the Gospel today is his death, burial, and resurrection. How could he preach that if he hadn’t died, been buried, or resurrected yet? (Granted he did allude to the fact in his earthly ministry that it would happen in the future, but he told no one to trust IT, rather to trust in HIM and who he was).
We find the Gospel for us today being preached by Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13). It is not WHO Jesus is, but WHAT Jesus did for us! That’s the difference! Both point to Jesus. But only one is what gives us salvation today! What are you trusting in to save you? Is it in Jesus and WHO he is, or is it in Jesus and WHAT he did for you?
This is an important distinction, for many today claim to “follow Jesus.” That is, they follow the man himself, but they don’t trust what he did for them. They love the beatitudes, and they love the message of “loving one another” but they don’t accept Jesus as their own personal Saviour by faith in his finished work at Calvary.
Years ago, we had the “Jesus freaks” wandering throughout our land, who were nothing but a bunch of long-haired hippies following Jesus. They tried to do what he said, but they were following the MAN, while they rejected what HE AS GOD DID for them on the cross. I mention this as today there are some that say all you need to do to be saved is just come to Jesus and if you seek him, he’ll save you if you just ask him, or beg him, or plead with him enough. But this leaves out entirely WHAT Jesus did for the Sinner. This is seeking JESUS for WHO he is, and not coming to him through WHAT he did for us.
Are such people, therefore, lost? You have to decide that for yourself. Certainly the “Jesus freaks” were, as they tried to make salvation through following the physical teachings of Jesus, rather than by obtaining the spiritual salvation of the soul by FAITH in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
When dealing with people, I try to help them see the difference, as I’m even more determined than ever to point people to Christ Crucified on the Cross of Calvary! It’s all about WHAT he did for us. We are saved by hearing, understanding, and then believing the Gospel. We are not saved apart from it, no matter how many people might say otherwise!

Notice the chart above. When Jesus preached, he stressed WHO he was, to those to whom he came: THE JEWS. He pointed to the fact that he was their promised MESSIAH, the CHRIST, or the ANOINTED ONE. But when the Jews rejected Jesus Christ, then salvation was taken to the Gentiles, and we see God using the Apostle Paul to preach the Gospel (found in 1 Cor. 15:1-4) to them. The emphasis of the Gospel today is not WHO Jesus is, rather HOW Jesus died, was buried, and rose again. It is all about WHAT Jesus did for us for our sins!
Why then would people want to tell lost souls that they can be saved apart from what Jesus did for them on the cross, and instruct them to go to Jesus another way? Why do they teach repeating a formal prayer, begging for forgiveness, asking for salvation, church attendance, baptism, good works, etc., as their plan of salvation? For clearly, all these try to come to Jesus APART from his finished work on the cross!
