Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

September 2004

Dear Fellow Labourers,

The month of September was full of blessings!  God is continually using me here, and I’m glad just to be part of the work of the Lord.  Of course, the biggest reward will be yours at the Judgment Seat of Christ for your continued prayers and support.

The 6th through the 10th, I was asked to teach a course on “The Truth About Roman Catholicism” at the Baptist Camp behind my house.  My students were Lenca Indians who came down from the mountains for a week to attend classes (some already saved, others not).  For three hours a day, I showed them what the Roman Catholic Church teaches, and then took them to the precious word of God so that they could see that all the Papal system has to offer is “tradition” rather than sound “Bible doctrine.”  When I finished the course, they were amazed.  Many students said, “How could we as Catholics believe in an ungodly system that’s so ‘stupid’ and ‘antibiblical.’  Some of the students weren’t saved, and God used the teaching to plant a seed and to bring them to the Lord, as on Sunday night eight people got saved at the Baptist Camp after the other Missionary preached!

Things in Quebrada de Lajas are going well.  The 12th was “Children’s Day” here in Honduras, and I decided we ought to celebrate it the typical Honduran style with food and a Piñata.  This we did, and had a good turn out of not only children, but their parents as well.  Our little Chapel was full!

God continues to bless there in the small work with the Lenca Indians (mostly hard Catholic people).  On the 26th I led Emerson Neftali Sanchez, age 13, to the Lord, and then on the 30th, I led his sister Jenny to the Lord!   The same day  I dealt with Leslie Martinez who also chose to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour!

On the 18th, the Lenca Bible Institute began again.  I was asked to preach on “Preacher and His Problems.”  Our first class went well, and I enjoyed seeing several new students .

The 24th, I preached in Ramon Galeano’s church here (The Good Shepherd Baptist Church).  They recorded my sermon, and played it on their radio station several days afterwards.  Many of the people I’m trying to reach in Quebrada de Lajas told me they heard the sermon at home while listening to their stereo.  That was a blessing!

Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support.  God seems to be working in Honduras, and I count it an immense privilege just to be here.  May God continue to bless you all!

Because of Christ Jesus our Most Wonderful Saviour,
