December 1998 - January 1999
My first few months of deputation have gone well. December and January have taken me over 4600 miles with meetings in 7 different churches in the states of Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Michigan, and Tennessee.
In Newburn, Tennessee, a 19 year old Pastor had me to present my slide presentation and preach in the morning serve, then he preached the evening service, and a young girl named Pamela came forward and made a confession of faith in Jesus Christ!
While at a church in Mena, Arkansas, the Lord gave me a message from the book of Jonah, about running from God. The pastor's father in law, who had been out of Church for over 30 years, showed up unexpectedly that night for service, and heard the message. The Pastor's wife said she thought that the message touched his heart, because they were able to talk to him, and found out that he was saved. And that he nowwants to be more involved in Church, and with his Christian family. Thank God that he waits with open arms to take us back, no matter how long we've been running from him!
In a church in Huntsville, Missiouri, I laboured for a day helping with their printing ministry. They print tracts, as well as Gospels of John and Romans in over 6 different languages. They put me to work packaging pages of Romans and John before they were bound. I kep looking at all those pages of Scriptures, and thinking how great it was to be a small part of this, becuase someone could get saved by reading these book. "The word of God will not go out void..." (Isaiah 55:11)!!!
They also said they would supply me with as many Gospels of John and Romanis in the Spanish language as I need. So, praise God for that ! I'll be able to use a lot of those in Honduras!!!
On the trip home to Florida from Detroit, I stopped in Memphis, Tennessee, at a little place called Graceland to pass out tracts. And, I saw there Elvis Presley was buried. His fans had placed flowers, stuffed animals, and cards all over his grave. While looking at all that, the verse struckm, "Their rock is not our Rock." I couldn't help but think that these poor lost souls were honoring their "King" - the king of rock and roll. But, by witnessing and passing out tracts, I was honoring my King - The KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS!!! And, he is the ROCK (1 Cor. 10:4). (Not some fornicating dope head, who probably damned millions to hell with him!!!) The truth is that Elvis is dead, but Jesus Christ has risen again!!! (2 Cor. 5:15).
So, by God's mercy, I'll continue to preach and teach about my King of Kings and Lord of Lords - JESUS CHRIST!!!
Thanks for your prayers and support. Please continue praying for me.
Because of Him,
