Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

May 2004

Dear Fellow Prayer Warriors,

Greetings in the precious name of the almighty, all powerful, omnipotent Saviour and most blessed Creator — our Lord Jesus Christ!  I hope this letter finds you walking in the joy and power of the Holy Ghost, while ever busy in the work of the Lord.

PLANTING SEEDS

I’m learning that it pays to make relationships with people.  Anywhere and everywhere I go, I am quick to be friendly with others, and open conversation.  This eventually gives the opportunity to speak with them later about the Lord.  At the “Value Center” store in Tegucigalpa, for example, I had a wonderful chance to witness to the entire store, and the boss let me give away Bibles and New Testaments to everyone that worked there!

SEED SPROUTING UNTO ETERNAL LIFE

At the Aerocasillas Mail Center in Tegucigalpa (where I get my mail), I’ve been witnessing to Ms. Ingrid Lopez Sevilla for over a year.  Everytime I’d go there, I’d give her a different tract and speak to her about the Lord.  On the 3rd of May, I received the most wonderful news when she told me, “I finally accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour by faith in his shed Blood!”  Thus, planting seeds is definitely worth the effort!

SERVICES HERE IN HONDURAS

The other Missionary came back last month, and this month we moved from having services in my garage to the much bigger Baptist Camp behind my house.  Services seem to be going well, and more people are starting to come.  On Mother’s Day we had almost one hundred people (mostly mothers and children).

Services in Quebrada de Lajas are going well, except for the undesired “visitors” we have in our building.  Yes, the building is full of bats!  And we are constantly battling against them every Thursday during services.  Once I had one fly right in front of my face while preaching.  (Not a wonderful experience!)

STUDIES AT THE BIBLE INSTITUTE

I finished teaching my class on First and Second Thessalonians at the Lenca Bible Institute on the eight.  And was asked to teach on “Church History” this semester, which started on the 22nd.  I have about twelve students total and they are very eager to learn.

SALLYING FORTH TO OTHER AREAS

On May 10th, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to a new area and visit there.  The town was called “Malguarra” and I visited a young man named Baldomero Hernandez.  I took with me a lost friend named Catalino, and had a good opportunity to witness to them both as we walked down to the river.  We sat on old logs, and I showed them many verses of scripture.  Please pray for their salvation.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support.  I feel so unworthy, but am very grateful for your helping the ministry in Honduras!

Because of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour,
