November - December 2014

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 )

Greetings from the Breakers and a Happy New Year!

The year 2014 has come and gone, and boy did it go by quick! But I must say, I’m so glad it’s over, as it means we are just that much closer to the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! 2015 could be the year of the rapture. Wouldn’t that be great? But until then, there is much to do, and we continue in the work of the Lord, asking you to pray for us, that as the above verse states, “...the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified.”

HELPING HOVIND

As most of you know evangelist Kent Hovind is in the county jail here in town, and my wife has been taking his phone calls and working with other people in trying to get the word out about him and what he’s going through. The IRS put him in jail for 10 years, eight of which he’s now served. (Hovind still maintains his innocence. For more, go to www.FreeKent.com). They are now trying to charge him with, of all things, “Mail Fraud” and are hoping to put him away for 100 years. His trial is on January 9th. There is a prayer rally for him outside the courthouse in Pensacola on that day from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. Please pray during that time, that his trial would go well, and he could get out soon. He was supposed to have been let out already, but they are keeping him longer than they should.

SEEING EVIL FIRST HAND

I’ve visited Bro. Hovind several times in jail, and also got to know his Christian roommate. When his cellmate was discharged, I picked him up and took him to another state to, what others claimed, was a great ministry for helping people get back on their feet. On the way, he told me about how he got saved in jail and how he had daily Bible studies with Dr. Hovind. When we arrived at the rehab place, I had my doubts, as they claimed to be a “Christian” establishment, but I saw some things that made me wonder. Later, my worst fears were confirmed, as this young man called me a few days later and asked me to come pick him up and get him out of there. I was unable to do so (I was very sick with the flu at that time), and I heard later that they put him in “mental institution.” Concerned, I visited him after he got out and asked him what happened. The story he told was so wild and far-fetched, I almost thought not to even mention it, as it is so hard to believe. However, it is a good illustration of what our country is really like, as evil men have taken over in many areas and are working diligently to bring in spiritual deception at every level in our country. So here goes. Believe it or don’t...
The young man told me that at this Christian “rehab” camp he caught some of the other boys smoking marijuana. He told on them, and that turned them all against him (both the faculty and those who were there for help). He then went to their “services” but was perturbed, as they were continually preaching things that were foreign to the scriptures. Many of the “preachers” were Masons, and were preaching salvation by works, by water baptism, and/or by “coming to the light” and being “illuminated.” (Sounds like luciferianism, doesn’t it?) After about a week of a steady diet of this, the young man could take it no more, and stood up in their church service and said, “You are all wrong! You are not saved by works, rather by faith alone!” This led to a chorus of boos, to the which he responded, “What? Do you all think I’m Satan or something? Well, I know I’m saved, and on my way to heaven. And it’s not by DOING something, it’s by what Jesus DID for me!
The old saying is: “People hear what they want to hear, and disregard the rest,” so, they immediately called the police, and said that the young man stood up in their church and told everyone he was “Satan.” This led to a psychiatric evaluation, and he was sent to a sanatorium for 10 days. There, they asked him what was wrong. Knowing he could get no where with them, he said, “Whatever I say, you’ll twist to make me sound crazy. So I have nothing to say. All I know is whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I’ve committed, unto him against that day.” This led to them drugging him, and he told me all he remembered was sleeping for most of the time he was there. Eventually he went before a judge, and was declared sane, and sent home. He’s now working with a local church here in town, and doing work for Dr. Hovind on some of his new books.
I told you it was a very far-fetched story. But I’ve since heard from several other people, that the so-called Christian “establishment” he went to is full of luciferians who are closely connected with the police. I’ve even heard stories of blood sacrifices and witchcraft being practiced in the woods around the area. Sadly, we are seeing a rise of such demonic activity world-wide. But we know that our God is greater than the god of this world.

RECEIVING FEEDBACK FROM A MAN WHO RECEIVED MY TRACT

A friend in Texas calls from time to time asking for more of my gospel tracts so he can hand them out in his area. The other day I received a letter from someone in Dallas who received one of those tracts, and it is easy through his correspondence to see the hostility of people today towards God and the Bible. I include a copy of his note in this prayer letter for you to read. Notice it is in all caps, showing the man is quite angry as he writes it. But yet he claims there is no heaven or hell. If so, why write an angry letter? It must have pricked his conscience. Please pray for his salvation. I’d give you a name, but the man didn’t give it to me. The return address on the envelope was left blank (intentionally), and he only signed his letter with his initials: NIE.

A NEW GOSPEL TRACT

Speaking of Gospel tracts, I’m including a new one here with this prayer letter that I’ve written lately. It is entitled “Why did Jesus die?” I hope it is a blessing. I try to show Jesus as our great and merciful GOD who died for our sins. This is important, as today the devil through his luciferian initiates adamantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. So it’s important to know WHO Jesus is, and WHAT he did for us.

BIBLE PREACHING AND TEACHING

It’s getting harder to reach others nowadays. The economy is terrible, and I read somewhere that 1/3 of the nation is out of work. (They manipulate the numbers to make you think that isn’t the case, but many have looked at the true numbers and found this to be a fact). With that stated, it’s getting harder to work for the Lord, as our support dwindles more and more. That’s why a while back I started: www.thecloudchurch.org, in an effort to reach people online.
On it, I’ve been posting a weekly sermon in both English and Spanish. I would encourage you to check it out, as we are trying in any way we can to reach the lost world with the Gospel, and seeing that so many people are continually on the internet, it seems that’s a good place to reach them.
I’m also recording verse by verse teaching from the Bible, starting with the epistles of Paul, in order of when they are written. We’ve finished 1 and 2 Thessalonians, and will soon start with Galatians. I already have a small group in Texas which called to tell me that they are meeting once a week to watch the videos and learn via the online Bible study. What a blessing! I also hope that pastors, missionaries, Sunday school teachers, bible teachers, etc., will take the information and use it in their churches as well, as we hope to be a blessing to all. We just want to see people saved, and when they are, we want to see them grow in the Lord!

FAITH OF CHRIST vs FAITH IN CHRIST

One of the video messages I preached and posted on the Cloud Church was on that of “THE FAITH OF CHRIST vs FAITH IN CHRIST.” As you know, all modern versions of the Bible change “faith of Christ” to “faith in Christ” in their versions. That is, they take out all references to Jesus Christ’s faith. But, what was Christ’s faith in? That’s an amazing study, and I thoroughly enjoyed studying it and finding that Jesus Christ’s faith was in the same thing that our faith should be in. To learn more, go to www.thecloudchurch.org, and click on “past sermons.” Then click on the link to watch the video.
Thanks again for all your continued prayer and support. We love you all more than you know!
Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,

TEXT OF THE GOSPEL TRACT:

Why did Jesus die?

Although many in the world today might not believe in Jesus Christ, the Bible and historical records prove that he existed and that he died on an old rugged cross. But, have you ever thought about why Jesus died?
According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was no mortal man. He was GOD manifest in the flesh. We see this in the following verses…
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel... being interpreted is, God with us.
(Matthew 1:23)

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh....
(1 Timothy 3:16)
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
(Titus 2:13)
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
(1 John 5:20)
Isn’t it amazing to think that GOD HIMSELF, the Creator of the universe, came to this planet in the form of a man? But why did he come, and why would he die?
The answer is found only in the Bible itself. There, we find that God didn’t die by accident, nor was he put to death for any crime that he committed. Rather, Jesus came of his own accord to die for a specific purpose. That purpose was to pay for the sins of the entire world! We see this in the following verses…

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners... (1 Timothy 1:15)
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
(1 John 2:2)
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins
.
(1 John 4:9-10)
Jesus Christ came to this earth in a time when many people were pagans who worshipped false gods. Their gods were cruel and demanding, requiring human sacrifice from their followers. But these sacrifices did not forgive man’s sins. Rather, they were sinful in and of themselves.
Thus, enters the true God—JESUS CHRIST—who came to this earth to show man what real sacrifice was. He showed true love and compassion, as he willingly gave himself as the ultimate sacrifice for all sins. The following verses speak of this loving sacrifice made on our behalf...
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
(1 Timothy 2:6-7)
Jesus Christ—God manifest in the flesh—willingly gave himself as our sacrifice for our sins. And by his paying for our sin debt on the cross, we can be forgiven and saved from Hell. It’s all because of what he did for us in our place! What a great God!
Jesus died to make a way for us to go to heaven, as we couldn’t enter in because of our sin. Sin had to be dealt with. That’s why Jesus came. He made the way for us to come to God. We read this in 1 Peter 3:18…
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.

Notice it says that Jesus is “the just” one. That makes us the “unjust” or the sinner. And as we’ve seen, Jesus died for us sinners. But no one is saved just because Jesus died. A sinner must receive the sacrifice of Jesus done on his behalf by faith. That is, they must TRUST what Jesus did for them in order to be saved. We read this is the following verses…
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
(Acts 13:39)

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
(Gal. 3:22)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8)
Being saved is wonderful! But the best part of salvation is not only being saved from hell but also being JUSTIFIED by Jesus Christ. Being justified means you are completely forgiven and made righteous in God’s eyes! By faith, God takes you, the “unjust,” and justifies you. That means in his eyes you are no longer a dirty sinner, rather you have been made “just” by Jesus Christ. In other words, a saved person can say, “It’s just-if-I-ed never sinned!” How great is salvation!
We read more about justification in the book of Romans, as the following verses clearly answer our question of “Why did Jesus die?”
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
(Romans 4:24-25)

Jesus died FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION. That is, he died to make you just. It was all about you, and because of his great love for you he did it. He wanted you to have a way to heaven, and he was willing to give himself for you. If you accept him by faith, you are saved, and justified. If not, you are still lost in your sins and on your way to hell.
So how about it? Are you justified? If not, you can be. Simply trust in what Jesus did for you.

September - October 2014

But thanks be
to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.   (1 Corinthians 15:57-58)

Greetings again from the Breakers!

For several years now we’ve been busy “abounding in the work of the Lord.” We pass out tracts, witness, give the gospel to the lost, and yet it seems like very few respond. This has led to many nights in prayer with tears, begging God to use us even more, and help us to see some fruit for our labor. But God, as he always is, is faithful, and this month we finally were able to see that our labor was “not in vain!

VISIT FROM ANOTHER MISSIONARY and NEWS FROM HONDURAS

In September, Bro. Erick Sanchez, a native Spanish-speaking missionary to Honduras called and told us he was preaching in New Orleans (about three hours away). He asked if I could drive over and pick him up and let him stay with us for a couple of days. I gladly accepted. (Some of you might remember him, as we used to have bible study in his home once a week in La Esperanza in Honduras.) Together, we had a great time of fellowship and we studied the Bible for almost two days straight! He had many Bible questions, like: “What is Abraham’s bosom?” “What is paradise?” “What’s the difference between Hell and the Lake of Fire?” “What about the Giants in Genesis 6?” And much more.
But before we drove to my house, I met the Pastor he was preaching for in New Orleans, and we talked for some time in Spanish. Turns out he was also from Honduras, and knew someone in the small town of Magdalena where I trained a man for several years named Elias Marquez. Elias was the Pastor of a “Santidad” (Holiness) church in the area, before I led him to the Lord. He then began preaching that salvation was by GRACE through FAITH, and not of WORKS, and when he did so, his congregation kicked him out. So, after he left the holiness denomination, we had Bible studies in his house for several years. To make a long story short, this Pastor in New Orleans called his friend in Honduras, and asked if he knew Elias Marquez, and his friend replied, “I sure do! He’s that NUT that preaches out on the street corner all the time! He’s also got a small group of people he’s teaching the Bible to in his house!
What great news to hear! Eventually I was able to get in touch personally with Elias via telephone, and he told me: “I’m so glad to hear from you! I’ve got all my notes from studying with you, and I’m enjoying preaching the Gospel to the people in my community! We are a small group of believers, but we are now starting a church and bible study in my home!” What a blessing! So God is still using what we’ve done for him in Honduras, and churches are still being formed from our time there! What an encouragement!

VISITS FROM OTHERS and WITNESSING

I’m amazed at how often people call us to ask questions about the Lord, the Bible, salvation, and more. I’m also amazed at how many people ask to visit with us personally and talk to us in person. Many of them just want fellowship. Others are earnestly seeking to learn more Bible. And even others are diligently searching for the right Bible is Spanish.
These last two months have been no exception, as I’ve been blessed to have several Christian families with attentive ears visit us here at our home in Florida. It’s always a blessing to impart unto them what we can.
We’ve also talked with lost people and been faithful in giving them the Gospel. Sadly, they chose not to get saved, but at least they listened. Please pray for Beth in Alabama, that she would get saved.

VISITING IN JAIL and AN OPEN DOOR TO REACH HISPANICS

Most of you remember Kent Hovind, the Evangelist who preached on Creation and Dinosaurs in the Bible, and who was jailed by the IRS for their claim of tax evasion. In August, he was moved to the Santa Rosa county jail, which is very close to us. I visited him several times, and we talked about many things. I confided in him about wanting to do more for the Lord, and asked him what more I could do. He replied, “When I started my ministry, I looked at the need, and then said to myself: ‘How do I reach AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE with the message God has given me?’”
This was a great encouragement, and helped me to decide to do something I’ve been praying about for some time. I’ve been wanting to start an online bible study with good, sound Bible preaching and teaching for some time, but was afraid people might think that was our main ministry. Thus, I kept doing what we always do: printing Gospel tracts, passing them out, speaking to people one on one about the Gospel, etc. But after much prayer, and after speaking with Hovind, I believe it’s God will for us to do an online ministry along with what we are already doing.
So the end of September I started: www.thecloudchurch.org (in Spanish: www.laiglesiadelanube.com). I also started www.cienciacreacionista.com, and www.truthstandsaloneministries.com. I hope these websites will help people come to the truth of salvation, and for those who are already saved, I pray it will help them learn the Bible.
On The Cloud Church, I am preaching a video sermon each week in both English and Spanish, and posting them online. It’s mostly directed to the elderly, the sick, and/or those who don’t have a good Bible-believing church in their own area. But it’s also for pastors, missionaries, and Sunday school teachers, to help them with a sermon or lesson plan in their own church. I’m very careful to say: “We don’t want to steal anyone from your own home church! Nor is this ministry an excuse to stay home and stop going to your own home church! But, if you don’t have your own home church, and/or can’t find one, we are here for you! We desire only to preach the truth and ask you to do the same!
We truly desire to be a blessing, and not only reach the lost, but help those who are already saved with plain bible preaching and teaching, in the hopes they will disseminate the information to others. We encourage you to go to the site and check it out. I’m posting my videos on both youtube and vimeo! Please pray for this endeavor. The Bible says “cast your bread upon the waters.” And, that’s what we are doing. And what greater place than “the net” to get the word of God out to the sea of the masses in this present evil world? We’ve already had great feedback on my sermon: “The difference between the law and grace.” It seems to be a common favorite!
Finally, visiting Kent Hovind in jail also opened a door to get into the local jail more frequently. The end of October I took the required eight-hour course on how to deal with prisoners, which now gives me access to the jail anytime I want as a clergy volunteer. The chaplain says there is a real need to reach the Spanish-speaking population of the prison, so I hope I can do just that! Please pray for this, as God just keeps opening doors to minister and serve him.

VISITING THE HOSPITAL

As is always the case, it seems the more you try to do for the Lord, the more roadblocks you see in your way. And, we’ve certainly seen our share of those. The end of October, we had a little mini-disaster as my grandmother’s face swelled up because of a massive tooth infection. We finally got her on antibiotics but later the same day she fell and broke her arm, and we had to take her to the ER. Please pray for us, as she needs even more of our attention as we continue to take care of her. It seems the more we determine to do for the Lord, the harder things get, but I’m learning what it truly means to “minister” to others.

TERRORISM HITTING RATHER CLOSE TO HOME

Most of you probably heard of the terrorist attack in Oklahoma of a muslim man beheading a woman at a factory. This was a horrible and atrocious act. But it was not the only act of violence that day.
The perpetrator also stabbed a second woman and attempted to behead her as well, but thankfully was stopped by an armed citizen. This second woman, I found out later, went to High School with me when I lived in Oklahoma as a teenager. She was even on the same track team as I was. That means muslim extremism (otherwise known as “workplace violence,” but should be called what it is: TERRORISM) came pretty close to home for me. Even though it happened in another state, it happened to someone I know personally. And, if the Lord doesn’t come soon, I fear this type of evil will happen more and more in America. The Bible tells us that “perilous times” will come. I believe they are already here! And one thing we should all remember is that Islam is not a religion! It is a political system which seeks to enslave the masses, and kill those who won’t go along with its despotic rule.

Please pray for our country! And as always, keep looking up!

Because of Christ Jesus our Lord,
