Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

June - July 2007

...the word of God is not bound.    2 Tim. 2:9

            Dear Praying Friends,

Truly the word of God is not bound.  And we count it a privilege to do our part in distributing the word of God so that it might increase (Acts 6:7), multiply (Acts 12:24), grow and prevail (Acts 19:20).  God’s kept us very busy the months of June and July as I’ve been continually Preaching, Printing, and Passing out Gospel literature.  But we have seen our share of Problems while Pressing Forward in the work of the Lord.

PREACHING and TEACHING

July 13th, Laura and I traveled for a three-day meeting to the little village town of Piraera, a four-hour drive from where we live.  The village is very close to the El Salvador border and is very tiny.  All total there are only 10,000 people in the surrounding area.  Even though the population is small, there are many cults which have already entered there, including: 7th Day Adventists, Pentecostals, and of course Catholics.  I preached twice in the evening at the small Baptist Church, and taught for two whole days on the subject of “The Errors of Catholicism.”
We hoped for a better crowd, but at least several Baptist Pastors came and took notes.  One told me afterwards, “I appreciate the information, and this will really help me to win Catholics to the Lord!

PROBLEMS and PLANNING

My wife’s 90-day permission to stay in Honduras ran out in July, so we drove the three hours to the capital city of Tegucigalpa to ask for an extension.  In the past, they gave her another 90 days for a small fee, but this time they told us of a new law which only allows a foreigner 30 extra days, after which they must leave “Zone 4.”  I inquired what Zone 4 meant, and they explained that all of Central America is now “unified” into one.  This includes El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  It’s interesting that they call it Zone 4.  I wonder how many other zones exist, as we know the Bible speaks of ten kingdoms which the Antichrist will reign over according to the books of Daniel and Revelation.  Could there already be nine others?

With my wife forced to leave, we will fly to the states in August, and then fly back to Honduras the same month, hoping they’ll give Laura another 90 days upon our return.  We plan to have our baby here on the Mission field (the due date is tentatively November 5th).  This will make it easier to get Honduras residency if we need it.

It appears that we’ll have to do deputation over again, as we’ve lost a lot of our support.  Our plan is to do the best we can until January living on our savings, and the small amount of support we are receiving.  The other Missionary here left for a six month furlough, and asked us to fill in until he returns.  We feel confident we continue the work here in his absence, doing more with less, and trusting God to provide.  But any extra offerings the Lord lays on your heart to give would be a real blessing during this hard time.

While in Honduras, I plan to tape many of my teaching sessions using slides like evangelist Kent Hovind.  Some of my topics include:  The Bible Issue, Soul Winning, Creation vs Evolution, The Rising New World Order and What a Christian Should do About It, and much more. I’ll also have a series against false sects, including: Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Charismatics, Catholics, 7th Day Adventists, and more.  I hope to eventually record these again in the U.S. while on deputation in the states, and make this information available on DVD in both English and Spanish.

PRINTING

I’ve recently printed my second book on the Spanish Bible Issue, and am enclosing a copy in this prayer letter.  It’s a little lengthy compared to my first book entitled, “A BRIEF History of the Spanish Bible.”  However, it is packed full of a wealth of information for anyone interested in the truth about the Spanish Bible, and the Satanic conspiracy against it.  Many still aren’t aware that most modern Bibles (in both Spanish and English) are based on catholic critical texts instead of God’s pure, preserved texts.  This book explains Satan’s plan to replace the pure word of God with a water-downed, Catholic version.

THE PURE WORD OF GOD IN SPANISH!

More and more corrupt Spanish Bibles are being printed by apostate Bible Societies.  But we thank God for our Bible Believing Home Church in Monterrey, Mexico, which worked more than eleven years revising the old 1602 Reina-Valera Bible with the Greek Textus Receptus in the New Testament and the Hebrew Masoretic in the Old.
They’ve finally finished the Old Testament, and have just started printing the entire Spanish Bible on a small press!  We look forward to getting as many of these out as possible, for in my estimation, this is the purest Spanish Bible in existence!  (We also desire to find another press who’s willing to help us print.  If you know of any, please contact me).

PASSING OUT LITERATURE

In both June and July we traveled to San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Rio Grande, Piraera, Erandique, and several other areas in Honduras taking boxes of tracts, Bibles, and New Testaments to local Baptist pastors.
The most asked for tracts are “All This I Did for Thee” and “Justified by His Blood” in Spanish.  We could sure use some more boxes of these, if anyone desires to mail us some.  Please send them to:

PERSECUTION

As most of you know, Honduras is mostly a Catholic country.  And even though its Constitution gives religious liberty to all, we’ve lately begun seeing more Catholic discrimination.
In Rio Grande, where Missionary Erick Sanchez works, Catholics went to the governmental municipality and asked for a court order against his Baptist building project in their community.
In the small Lenca Indian village of Sapatillo where Mike Lane preaches, the Catholics made an edict against him, threatening him with bodily harm should he ever return.  I’ve also heard that Catholics now tell the common people of that village that Baptists are nothing more than cannibals who have come to “eat their children.”
Even though the Catholic church is trying to intimidate us, we continue strong, taking the Gospel to the lost and dying world.  Catholics need to be saved just like everyone else!

PRESENTATION

My wife taped one of our Missionary journeys, and we have it now on DVD.  She followed me on a trip to Piraera in June where I preached in one of the mountain churches and passed out Bibles.  Because of our lack of funds, we can’t send a DVD out to everyone as we’d like.  But we’d be happy to do our best to send this Bilingual DVD (in Spanish and English) to anyone that emails, writes, or phones asking for a copy.  We really do want people to see what we do, and feel like they are a part of our ministry.  Prayer letters and pictures are good, but watching a video of the Mission Field is the second best thing as actually coming here yourself!

God bless you all, and thanks again for your continued prayers.  We count it a joy and an honor to work with you in serving our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ!
