Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

December 2003

Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ,

Greetings once again in that name above every name — THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!  The month of December has come and gone, and with it yet another year has passed.  And praise be to God, it’s good to know that we are even that much closer to the blessed appearing of our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ!  Even so come Lord Jesus!

The work in Quebrada de Lajas is going slowly, but we are having many visitors.  We are meeting in the house of José Mártir Martinez, who is a fine Christian, Indian man.  However, his wife is not saved, nor are many of the people that are visiting services.  Yet, they are excited about coming and listening, and learning more about God’s holy word.  The only problem is that this area is so steeped with Catholicism, that I’m finding it hard to reach the people who are filled with years of pagan tradition and religious prejudice.  Little by little I’m teaching them what the Bible says compared to what the Catholism teaches.  They also have quit a history of “Alcoholism” and on more than one occasion, we’ve had some people come drunk to the meeting.  Please pray for this work and that people would get saved, as many seem interested in coming, but few seem to understand the Gospel.   We also plan on holding services on Sunday’s soon, and I ask for your prayers for this as well.

December 2nd, I was given some new responsibilities, as another Missionary had to go back to the states and left me in charge of the Sunday and Wednesday night services at the Baptist Camp behind my house.  Services are going well, and I’m having a great time teaching and preaching there.  It is mostly kids that come, but we do have some teenagers and adults as well.

For Christmas, I journeyed up the mountain to Quebrada de Lajas for our usual Thursday night service.  I preached on “The History of Christmas” and exposed it’s Catholic, pagan roots (such as Christmas trees, Satan Claus, Christ Mass, Yule logs, etc.).  Afterwards, I told them the true story of the birth of Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23), who died on the cross for their sins.  Afterwards, we feasted on Nacatamales filled with chicken, potatoes, peas, peppers, rice and more.

As we sat and fellowshipped, Brother José told me of a dream he had the other night.  He said, “You and I were in a big mansion and we knew that there were thieves coming to rob us.  You and I had a weapon, and we stood at both doors ready to use them if the evil ones came to do us harm.  Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and we could see through the keyhole that it was a gang of hoodlums with guns, knives, machetes, and clubs.  But rather than start shooting, you said, ‘Open the Door!’  This I did, and you told me to use my weapon.  I thought it was a pistol, and when I pointed it to shoot, I found it was only a flashlight that lighted the entire night.  The wicked men who intended to do us harm stumbled back and couldn’t see because of the intense brightness.  Thus they slowly backed away and eventually began running as the light became brighter and brighter.  Then I realized that the light wasn’t coming from my flashlight, but it was coming from you.  When I looked behind me, I saw you had your Bible open and it was shining forth the truth so brightly, that I myself could barely see!”  When he finished telling his dream, I had goosebumps all over!  Truly the light of the word is the only thing that can set the captives free from the spiritual darkness where they trod and bring them to The True Light — Jesus Christ!

Thanks again for all your prayers and support, and may God richly bless you for helping the ministry here in Honduras.

November 2003

Dear Bloodwashed Fold,

Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”  (1 Timothy 5:20).

The first of November, I journeyed seven hours to the little village of Guanko, Olancho to find my convert Nelson and reprove him for his sins of fornication and lasciviousness.  I found him in his mother’s house with the young lady that he left Zenia for.  I talked to them for some time telling them that they are living in sin, and need to repent and get right with God.  They didn’t seem to want to do right, so I had to do the only thing I knew to do, which was go to each house in the village and tell everyone that Nelson Corrales was a fornicator, and God would judge him for his sins, so that they too might fear God.  Some of the people in the village were guilty of the same thing, and I showed them from the Bible that they too were living in sin and needed to get right with God.
Before I left, Nelson’s lost mother told me, “Robert, you are right, and what Nelson is doing is wrong.  Thank you for taking an interest in my son and telling him the truth.  I want to give you something for it.”  And she gave me a beautiful black hen.  When I took it home and showed it to my neighbors, they felt I should have more than just the one hen, and they gave me both a rooster and another hen.  So now I have three chickens, and I’m getting a couple of eggs a week.  They are very good for breakfast!
The 8th of November, I preached a Youth Meeting here in La Esperanza for “Iglesia Bautista El Redentor” (Redeemer Baptist Church).   There were many young people in attendance, and I stressed their need to think about their futures and put God first in everything.
The boys I’m studying Bible with on Tuesdays and Fridays at my house went with me this month to Quebrada de Lajas, and helped me with Visitation.  It was the first time they’d ever knocked on doors.  They did well, and we had a wonderful time inviting people to service.
The 23rd, Bro. Homero Romero in San Pedro Sula asked me to preach in his church during the evening service.  I preached against the sin of “Fornication,” and showed how there is physical fornication, spiritual fornication, and how even the church can be guilty of fornicating with the world governmental system. (i.e. making the government the head of the church instead of Christ Jesus).
The 24th-30th, I visited Missionary Carlos Donate in Guatemala City, Guatemala.  I had the privilege of preaching once during their Vacation Bible School to over 100 children, and three times in their regular church services.
While in Guatemala, I received some rather bad news.  My 92-year-old Grandmother died on the 25th.  How it broke my hear to hear this. But I guess it was her time to go.
When I called my Aunt and Uncle to ask about the details of my grandmother’s death, I told them I was in Guatemala.  They in turn told me, “We have a friend there named Gustavo Espina.  Maybe you can look him up.”  This I did, and their friend turned out to be both the Ex-Vice President and Ex-President of Guatemala.  I met the man on the 28th and we talked for over an hour.  He claimed to be a Christian but was a little put out with his Pastor who reads from the NIV in Spanish.  He said, “That version is very corrupt!  It takes out whole words and verses!  I don’t like it at all!”  (Amen and Amen!)  He invited me to his home to eat and meet his family if I should ever be in Guatemala again.

Thus, November was an action-packed month full of excitement, adventure, and travel.  But it was not without some sadness for the death of a loved one, and broken heartedness for a convert gone bad. I ask for your prayers for Nelson that he would get right with God, and for my family in this their hour of need.

October 2003

Dear Beloved in the Lord,

Being a Missionary has its ups and downs.  There are times when I am overcome with joy and gladness that God has called me here to tell others the good news of salvation through the glorious Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  But then on the other side of the coin, many times I find myself discouraged, downcast, and miserable, as it seems the harder I try, the more things go wrong.  Yet through it all, I take comfort in knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ is always with me, for he hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5), even if things don’t go the way I hope.

“For Nelson hath forsaken me having loved this present world, and is departed unto Olancho.”

We lost our church building this month.  The landlord was a real wicked man, and told us that he desired us to move.  We tried to find another building, but had no luck.  Nelson and Zenia moved to another area, and I continued Bible Studies with them.  But one Sunday, when I went to visit them, I was shocked to hear the news that Nelson had run away with a young lady to Olancho and left Zenia two days before they were supposed to be married.  This news hit like a ton of bricks!  How could Nelson do such a thing?
I took Zenia to one of the area Baptist Churches and helped her to get situated in a good Bible Believing church.  It’s rather far from her house, but she is willing to travel in order to continue studying and grow in the Lord.  Please pray for her, as this is a hard time for her and her three-year-old daughter Marjorie.
In spite of the crushing developments in Tegucigalpa, things are going surprisingly well in the little “pueblo” (town) of “Quebrada de Lajas,” close to where I live.  We have service every Thursday night, and I’m enjoying visiting during the week and getting to know the people.  Several times I’ve gone hunting with some of the native people.  Once, we shot a dove and a woodpecker with a .22 rifle.  (I kept thinking, “I’d love to see the faces of some of those ‘Waco Environmentalists” after we shot them.  But here it is not illegal, nor are they even close to becoming extinct).
I’ve also enjoyed playing Doctor, as I have helped many of the village people with medicine and medical care.  One young man named Nazario cut his foot open with an axe while chopping firewood.  It was an awesome experience for me to kneel before this Indian man and wash and dress his foot in bandages after applying a ton of Triple Antibiotic Ointment.  (He healed quickly, and was back to work in less than a week).
On the 28th, I visited the little village of “Los Dolores” (literally in English “The Pains”) in the department of “Lempira” with Jose Martir and his companion Blanca.  We had a great time visiting, passing out tracts and bibles, and telling others about the Lord Jesus Christ.
So, even though things have fallen apart in Tegucigalpa, I’m happy to report that they seem to be going well in Quebrada de Lajas.  We had about 20 people last week, and many of them are not saved, yet they wish to come and listen.  I even had one man raise his hand during service and say, “I’m not saved, does that mean I can’t come?  Because I would really like to keep coming.”  I assured him that he was always welcome, and we wanted him to come and listen to the Gospel, for we wished him to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.   (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Because He Died on Calvary for even me,

September 2003

Dear Fellow Believers in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Greetings once again in that name above every name,  the Lord Jesus Christ!  September brought some highs and lows, as I’ve seen doors opened, and doors starting to shut.  But I’m thankful for the opportunity to be here serving the Lord, and trying to reach the lost with the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

SOME VISITORS

During the month of September, I was blessed to have Bro. William Park and his family come down and visit me for a week.  They are a real blessing, and we had a great time together. They also helped me with visiting, and inviting kids to my house to celebrate Children’s Day on the 13th.  Over 113 children showed up in all for services!!!  I had a young preacher named Alexis preach to them, and then we divided them into groups to break two piñatas.  The children were very excited and had a great time.

The 16th through the 21st, Bro. Bob Adams came and spent some time with me.  He’s from WINGS Bearing Precious Seed, and we had a wonderful time together.  I had him either preaching or teaching each night he was with me, and I translated.

SOULS SAVED!

Bro. Park’s mother in law is a real go-getter, when it comes to presenting the Gospel, and while she was here, she won two ladies to the Lord in my neighborhood.  Their names were Jubertina Ramos Orealla (birthdate April 23, 1972), and Metodia Suyapa Vasquez (born July 7th 1971).  Please keep them in your prayers.

SOME PROBLEMS

The work in El Carrizal is going well, as we are having new visitors each week.  However, we are having problems with the Landlord of the place and will have to move soon.  We’ve looked around the area and are unable to find another place to meet.  Please pray for this.  This is a wonderful area to start a church, and there is property for sale down the road in a very excellent location.  But we have no funds to purchase property.  All we know to do is trust God to supply a place to meet.

SOME OPEN DOORS

Despite the problems we are having in El Carrizal, the Lord is opening doors in other places to get the Gospel out.  I have inherited a work in Quebrada de Lajas from the “Central American Missions” (an organization started by C.I. Scofield in the early 1900’s).   They were unable to continue the work, and have asked me to carry it on.  I agreed to do so, and am now preaching and teaching in this little Indian village in the mountains outside of La Esperanza where I live.  I am having a wonderful time with these Lenca Indians, who appear to be some of the nicest people in the world.  We are meeting in the house of Jose Martír Martines.  Down the road lives his sister who accepted the Lord one night while I preached in services.  Please keep this endeavour in your prayers.
I’ve also started a Bible Study at the Cancer Center in Tegucigalpa where I spend the night after Sunday services.  I have anywhere from 15 to 20 people who come to listen to me teach.  Many of them are cancer patients, and are in great need both physically and spiritually.

THE SPANISH BIBLE ISSUE

The Lord is also blessing with a new ministry.  I have an website on the Internet with much information about the Spanish Bible Issue.  Each week I get an average of two or three emails from people asking the question, “Which Bible in Spanish is the word of God?”  There are several Spanish Bibles that “Fundamentalists” use today.  They are the 1865 Valera, the “Antigua” 1909 Reina-Valera, and the modern 1960 Reina-Valera.   Each one of these versions is based on the original 1602 Valera, but each one reads with the corrupt “Critical Texts” of man in certain key places (the 1960 more than the others).  As a King James Bible Believer, I am thankful to have the pure words of God in English from the Textus Receptus or Received Texts.  But in Spanish, it is a different story.  Even the original 1602 Valera has some readings from the corrupt Latin Vulgate, and does not read 100% with the Textus Receptus and King James.   This has always been a vexation to me, as I feel the Spanish speaking people ought to have the pure words of God in their language as well.
Ever since God called me to the Mission field, I began studying the Spanish Bible Issue, and I wrote a book entitled, “A Brief Look at the History of the Spanish Bible,” which I’ve revised on many occasions (and I am enclosing the latest edition with this prayer letter to keep you informed of the Issue).
In August of 2001, before coming to the field, I attended a Spanish Bible Conference at “Iglesia Biblica Bautista de Gracia” in Monterrey, Mexico, which Bro. Bob Adams told me about.  The church there has been working for over seven years on the task of purifying the 1602 Spanish Bible, with the Textus Receptus, the King James, and other versions of the Spanish Bible before 1602 based on the Textus Receptus.  What they have produced was a Spanish New Testament (The 1602 Restaurada or “Restored”) that is completely free of Critical Text readings (unlike the 1865 Spanish Bible that reads with Tischendorf, Tregellis, and others on occasion), and reads with both the Textus Receptus and the King James while honoring the original desire and heritage of the original 1602 Valera.  I have been using this New Testament here on the Mission field, grateful to have the pure words of God for the people to read and study.  I also have many people on the Internet asking for one, and I am sending out two to three New Testaments a week all over the world to people who are also looking for the pure words of God in Spanish.
Bro. William Park brought me 12 cases of these 1602 TR’s (as I call them) when he visited me this month, and I was thankful to get them!
The Old Testament still lacks being finished, and they are working on purifying it as well, with the pure Hebrew Text of Ben-Chayim, instead of the corrupt Nazi text of Kittle.  Please pray for this endeavour, so that someday the Spanish Speaking world will have a pure, complete Bible in their own language.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support.  Not only am I busy trying to get the Gospel to the people of Honduras, but also desire to get the pure words of God to them in their language as well.  Please pray for me!

August 2003

Dear Fellowlabourers in the Vineyard of the Lord,

Even though the 1865 Spanish Bible says that Satan is “finished” (acabado) in Ezekiel 28:15, the truth is he is still busy attacking the work of the Lord.  We are seeing his opposition daily here in Honduras.  But all glory and praise be to God!  For He is faithful (1 Cor. 1:9), and is blessing us here in spite of that old Dragon’s chicanery.

This month, I finished teaching my first semester at a local Bible Institute.  My class was about “Roman Catholicism” and I taught many Indian people about the evils of this false religious system.  They learned so much, and enjoyed the class so well, that they have asked me to teach again next semester on the subject of “Prophecy and Eschatology.”  Please pray for this endeavor.

The 22nd of August, I had a Jehovah Witness come over and visit me.  The young men that I am studying Bible with on Tuesday and Friday nights told me he was “bothering” them continually with his false doctrine, and that they would like him to visit me.  This he did, and we had a very long discussion.  Every time I showed him a verse on Hell, he would always say, “Oh, that’s just symbolic!”  I became so frustrated that I took him to Luke 16 and showed him the rich man in Hell talking about his “torments.”  He said that was “symbolic” to him as well, so I did the only thing I could think to do to reach him.  I arose from my seat, went over to the boy and punched him on the arm.  Then I sat down, gathered my composure, and asked him, “Did that hurt?”  He replied, “Yes, as a matter of fact!  What did you do that for?”  I responded, “Well, to me, it was just symbolic!”  To make a long story short, he began to understand what “torments” were, as I continued to show him verse after verse that he didn’t want to see.  But he decided to continue being deceived and follow his false religion and continue in his heresy of denying the Trinity, and teaching that there is no Hell.  What a shame!  Please pray for him.  His name is Gotier.

The children have come back again on Saturdays at my house.  It has been a blessing, and I’m enjoying teaching them again.  They are all a little better behaved, but not much.  Please pray for them.

Things in our little church in El Carrizal are going as well as can be expected.  We are having problems with the landlord of the place, and he is turning off the electricity at times.  Although he doesn’t do it during services, he does cut it off when I’m not there, and this is hard on Nelson and Zenia who are trying to read and study the Bible in the evening.  Please pray that God would help to resolve this situation.

August 31st, was a real blessing, as we had three saved Sunday evening.  I preached a message entitled, “Some things that God Demands!”  I showed them that God demands sinless perfection, but since no one has ever been able to meet that one, God demands that they have a blood sacrifice for their sins.  I continued by showing them that God demands payment for sin (Hell!), but that Jesus had already paid for their sins on the cross.  I finished by showing them that God then demands Faith in the Blood of that sacrificial blood atonement for them to be saved.  After service we had three saved!  One of them was Rumelia, Nelson’s twelve year old sister.  What a blessing this was!

Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

July 2003

 Dear Beloved,

How great it is to write unto thee once more and tell of what the Lord is doing in Honduras.  Thanks for all your continued prayers and support, and I’m continually praying that the Lord will bless you far above what you deserve!

July has been a rainy month, and my car has been stuck on several occasions in the mud.  I took it to the shop to get it fixed, and found that the 4 x 4 wasn’t working.  Thank God we were able to fix it for the time being until I can get a new “Actuator.”  Also, my Anti-lock brakes have failed, and I must get that fixed as well.  Thank God he’s kept me safe over the last several months with next to no traction and failing brakes in this wet and muddy climate.  I stand in awe of his mercy and protecting power!

On July 17th, I had the opportunity to preach in a little village outside of where I live.  It was a rainy night, and I thought no one would come for services, but sure enough about twenty-five Indian people came to the little home where we were meeting.  I preached a message about “The Gospel” and we had one saved!  Glory to God!

July 18th, Pastor Ramón Galeano came to the house and visited.  He brought a Missionary from Guatemala with him named José Marón who is working in El Salvador.  What a blessing it was to sit and talk with him about what God is doing there in the little village where he is working.  Most Missionaries just brag about what they are doing or have done, but it’s always a blessing to speak with someone who truly loves the Lord and wants to brag about his Saviour and what He’s doing with him.

Our church in El Carrizal is doing as well as can be expected.  Numbers are dwindling, as most people were coming just expecting a handout.  Many became mad when they found out that we were only interested in giving them spiritual things rather than material things, and left.  But we still have a few visitors coming every week, and I’m enjoying preaching to them.  Before service, we always hand out tracts, and I’ve been able to witness to many passerby’s and invite them to services.   Some come, and some don’t, but I guess that’s the way it always is.

The end of July, I put up a new fence in front of the church building we are renting.  The old one was completely eaten up with termites.  Nelson and I worked all day long setting new posts and running barbwire, and we had a great time of fellowship.  People walking by saw us and would speak with us.  I believe it was a good thing for the people to see me working out there and eating the same food as Nelson and Zenia.  Most Hondurans think Americans have more dollars than sense.  But, I’m struggling too, as rent, food, car parts, and more take their toll in trying to get the Gospel to the lost and dying world.

I want to sincerely thank you all for your prayers and faithful support.  God is good, and it’s a blessing just to have the privilege to serve Him!  And it’s a blessing to know that others support your work in the ministry as well..

June 2003

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour,

Greetings once again from mountainous Honduras.  The month of June has been an interesting one with plenty of open doors to preach to new people the glorious Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Our little church in El Carrizal is doing well.  We have visitors coming every Sunday.  Most are not saved, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to give them the Gospel.  My two converts Nelson and Zenia are excited about so many visitors coming, and every week they are busy passing out tracts and inviting more people to attend our services.

I’m still teaching in the Bible Institute, and having a great time exposing the heresies, and paganism of the Roman Catholic Church.  My students are learning a lot and are excited about witnessing to Catholics and telling them how to be born again through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ without works.  One of my students is a Pastor in a little community in the mountains of La Paz, Honduras called “Las Cañadas.”  He asked me to preach to his congregation, so on June 26th, together with Eric Sanchez the Bible Institute director and fellow missionary, we drove two hours over the mountains, and then walked another thirty-five minutes through the forests, hills, and valleys to arrive at their meeting place.  I preached to them on the subject of “Jesus Christ the Lamb of God!”  It was a real blessing, and I enjoyed being so far away from everything in this beautiful, tranquil, mountainous village.  I also ate the local food of tortillas (about an half an inch thick), scrambled eggs, rice, beans, and cheese.  The only drawback was in spending the night there, as the people in this village are not very tall.  They gave me a bed to sleep on, and my legs stuck out the end of the baseboard.  (And I thought I was a short fellow, but in this little area, I was almost a giant!)  But I went to sleep content knowing I was doing the work of the Lord.

On June 29th, I had the privilege of preaching the Gospel to an entire soccer team in the little village of Chimbo in the mountains outside of Tegucigalpa.  Zenia’s brother was the captain of the team.  He is lost, and asked Zenia if I could come and try to start a church there.  He said he would gather the whole team together to listen if I came.  I did just that, and I preached my guts out about salvation by grace through faith in the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ to over twelve teenagers.  I had a great time, and we had a few professions of faith.  Sadly, Zenia’s brother did not get saved, and told us in so many words not to come back.  (It turned out that all he was looking for was a “rich American” to buy Soccer Equipment for his team.)

The children from my Children’s ministry are starting to come back again for services.  I’m preaching to them and teaching them as much Bible as I can.  But most of them are already going to the “Santidad”  (Holiness) church up the street on Sundays, where they are learning to dance and attend “Christian rock ‘n roll Concerts.”  My heart bleeds for these children and I want so badly to see them saved and living for the Lord, but ultimately, they will go to the flesh if they are not saved and a fleshly religious system.  Please pray for them.

Finally, let me close with a word of thanks to the W.I.N.G.S Bearing Precious Seeds association and Bro. Bob Adams for sending us a pallet of over 30 boxes of New Testaments, John and Romans, and Bibles.  Missionary Homero Romero and I journeyed up to the port of Puerto Cortes and had nothing but problems in trying to get these “precious seeds” out of Customs.  But after several days, we succeeded and traveled around joyfully distributing many boxes to other Missionaries, Pastors, and preachers.  The rest we divided among ourselves and have been busy getting them into the hands of the Honduran people.

As always, thanks again for all your continued prayers and support.

Because of Christ Jesus our Blessed Lord,

May 2003

Dear Praying Friends,

Greetings once again from wet Honduras!  The rainy season is upon us, and mud is everywhere!  Thank God for a 4 x 4 vehicle, for driving here is beginning to get a little hectic.

The Month of May saw many new blessings befall us here in Honduras.  On the 3rd, we had our first service in our little church building in El Carrizal just outside of the capital of Honduras named “Tegucigalpa.”  The first and second Sunday, we had about 20 people in attendance.  The next Sunday we had a few less, but the following Sunday we had over 25 show up.  Most of those coming are children ages 6 to 14, but we now have two ladies who have said they will be coming each week.

My good convert Nelson is very excited about our services, and his desire was to put what he called a “Parlante” (Loud Speaker) on top of our building to play preaching tapes for the people passing by to listen to.  We did just that, and last Sunday, we were able to blast the Gospel over the airwaves to all those within hearing distance.
An hour before service, we always stand outside and pass out tracts to the people passing by.  El Carrizal is a highly populated area, and we usually distribute anywhere from 200-300 tracts every Sunday.
The neighborhood we are meeting in is not the best in the world.  About the only way I could describe it would be “The Ghetto!”  But I am thankful to have a place to preach each Sunday, and the opportunity to carry the Gospel to the needy people of that area.

This month, I started teaching in a Bible Institute in the town where I live called La Esperanza.  I am teaching on “The Roman Catholic Church” and it’s false teachings and doctrines.  I have eleven students from various backgrounds, and am starting by teaching them Alexander Hislop’s book, “The Two Babylons.”  Afterwards, I’ll go a little deeper into the History of the Roman Catholic Institution, and it’s heretical teachings.  The students seem to be enjoying the classes, and I’m thankful for the opportunity.  Not only is it helping them, but it’s been a real blessing to me studying more about this Cult Church, and preparing material that will undoubtedly help me in the future.

I’ve finished teaching second Thessalonians to Nelson and Zenia, and we are about to start in Galatians.  It’s my desire to teach them book by book from the epistles of Paul in the order that they were written.  Please pray for this, as sometimes Nelson’s work schedule really messes up our Bible study on Monday.  Work here in Honduras is hard to come by, and Nelson works 12 hours on, and 12 hours off every day.  Each week it changes between day duty, and night duty.  Please pray that God would allow him to find a job that would let him at least have every Sunday off.

Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support.  God is good!

Because of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour,

But Hark, What Ho?

A Poem By ROBERT BREAKER III
Written February 18,  2003

But hark, what ho!
And I shall go,
I prithee give me ear;
To tell of a defeated foe,
Who lives to make all fear.

The father of woe!
Down he did go,
For his unmitigated pride;
Never to come up again,
Walking to and fro below, is his abide.

How vile is he!
The wretched one,
With him not a few,
Left they did and they did run,
From their first estate askew.

Down they did fall!
And took up abode
Upon their new home below
In wickedness they daily strove,
Goodness they did not trow.

It came one Day!
And there he wast,
A man within their midst.
He came from nothing more than dust
But he was told he was a Prince.

Along came she!
And there were two,
Joined one by He who made.
Together on their honeymoon,
The serpent king was stayed.

But then he came!
With subtle heart,
Much evil was his intent.
He forced her to take a part,
And then she did repent.

It was to late!
They both partook,
Of the forbidden thing they did eat.
Displeased, their God did look,
And the man blamed his meet.

Evil then had won!
Or so he thought,
The adversary did prevail;
They had to pay or be bought,
But their King was still able.

But hark, what Ho!
And I will show,
One much greater than even he,
Who in his little toe,
Hath more power than that wretched Valkyrie!

He did look down!
And saw mankind,
Such a disgrace it seemed to be.
Yet mercy He did find,
And made a plan for you and me.

Then came His Son!
His life to give,
A ransom for us all,
Thirty years plus three, here to live;
And then to death, they did maul.

Up from the grave!
He rose again,
The sacrifice had been made.
Through Him one could be born again,
The price for mankind had been paid.

He saved my soul!
One blessed day,
When on Him I did rely,
Trust and faith were the way,
And I received a mansion in the sky.

In anger he abode!
That evil one,
In hatred he did rage;
Defeated no not once,
But twice he was outplayed.

He lost it all!
His power is gone;
Before, of death he had the keys.
That wicked, wretched, vile one,
The founder of sin’s disease.

To Hell he goes!
And off for good,
In his ears his sentence rings,
For he had the audacity to think he could
Defeat the King of Kings.

So trust the Son!
And do thee well,
For thee he surely died.
Or trust the dragon, and go to Hell,
Where with him you’ll eternally abide.
