Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
March was a month of sickness, sadness, death, and disaster. It seems like everything that could go wrong did. But God, as he always does, comforted me and helped me to look on the bright side of things, and patiently endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
The first two weeks of March I was sick with what felt like Bronchitis. I was so weak I could hardly move, and the more I did, the worse I felt. But I pressed on.
The children’s ministry went bust around the first week of March, as the children became so rowdy, and misbehaved, that I had to send them home. They took this as an insult, and said they would not be coming back to services. A few days later, one of the little girls that had been coming had an eighteen-year-old brother die in a car accident. Care to guess who they came to for help? How sad it was when I visited their home and found the poor mother crying in the corner uncontrollably. On the wall above the coffin were about six pictures of “Mary” and one tiny picture of a Catholic Jesus. How awful it was to see this religion offered no hope whatsoever in life or in death!
Afterwards I prayed with the family, and gave them the Gospel and some Gospel tracts. Please pray for their salvation.
In Tegucigalpa, I received news the end of March that Zenia had lost her baby. She seems to be taking it well, and they are both witnessing more for the Lord. Nelson is now discipling another couple which is a real blessing. They have decided not to move to Olancho, and want me to start a church in the suburb of “El Carrizal” where they live. Nelson has been visiting house to house in his neighborhood, and many people have asked him where his church is located. He told me that if we started one, he was certain people would come. We are now looking for a place to meet that we can rent for cheap. Close to his home is a small house for rent at 1000 lempiras a month (about 60 American dollars). That doesn’t sound like too bad of a deal! Please pray for this endeavor.
Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support.
Because He suffered for me on that old rugged tree,
