And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region... (Acts 13:49)
Dear Fellow laborers in the work of the Lord,
PLANS
Laura and I leave on September 9th for Honduras. We'll be there almost two months. I'll be preaching the whole time I'm there in different cities, as well as soul winning and traveling several hours to the small villages along the El Salvador border.
We ask for your prayers for our journey, and that God would bless us with souls saved, lives changed, and new converts strengthened.
PREGNANCY
We continually covet your prayers for Laura's pregnancy. Laura is now six months along, and the baby is "kicking up a storm!"
Please pray that in Honduras the baby would continue to grow and develop, and God would bless us with a healthy child. Our plans are to have the birth in the states with a midwife. However, if God changes those plans and it's born in Honduras, that will be fine too! We still don't know if it's a boy or a girl. We like the idea of waiting until it's born to find out. When we find out, you'll be the first to know.
PERSONAL STUDY
There is a new Spanish Bible being distributed among Fundamentists called the Reina-Valera Gomez. Most of the month of August, I spent sitting at the kitchen table with the 1569 Reina, 1602 Valera, 1865, 1909, 1602P and 1960 Spanish Bibles, comparing them with the King James, the Textus Receptus, and the new Gomez Bible. What I've found is shocking! The modern Gomez Bible claims to be based on the 1909, the TR, and the King James, but I found many word changes in that version which make it read closer to the 1960 and even the NIV, as I painstakingly compared and documented my findings. I'm posting these on my website, for those interested. The 1602 Purified, is still the best Spanish Bible available, and I'm glad we have a pure Bible to distribute to the Spanish Speaking people! We'll be taking a lot of these with us to Honduras.
PRINTING EQUIPMENT
God continues to bless us, as we serve him, and it amazes me how he guides, leads, and protects us day by day. I'm further amazed how God works and how he opens doors.
This month, my Dad and I drove to Mississippi to visit Publish or Perish ministries. They had some extra printing equipment, and said they were willing to give it to us! And that they did. They gave us a camera, a huge Champion brand book cutter, a plate burner, and more. They also have an extra printing press, which we will pick up from them when we return from Honduras.
We'll soon have our own printing press to print tracts and small booklets in both English and Spanish!
So God is good, and is continually supplying our needs. We thank you for your continued prayers and support, and ask you to keep us in your prayers as we journey to Honduras, and as we return in November to continue deputation here in the states.
Because he cares for even us,
Robert and Laurabeth Breaker III
