Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

November - December 2009

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a  time to mourn...                   (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4)

Holiday Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

With all the bad news in the world, we finally have some good news.  The wait is finally over!  We received our baby’s birth certificate the first week of December.  How happy we were to open the mailbox and see our year-long ordeal come to an end.
The funny thing is they only did a DNA test on me, and not on Laura.  The official document stated that there was a 99% probability that I was Emma’s father.  I had to laugh.  That’s science for you.  They can never be 100% sure about anything!
I thought about it later: “That means I’m smarter than the scientists!   Because I knew beforehand without a shadow of a doubt that Emma was my child.”  But because I didn’t have a “scientific degree” the judge wouldn’t listen to me.  If he had, this whole thing would have been over a long time ago!
We are now working on securing Emma’s passport, as well as renewing Laura’s.  We are currently focusing our attention on filling in our calendar for next year, as now things are no longer “open ended” and “up in the air.”  As we continue on deputation, please pray the Lord would provide as we also make plans to preach in Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and more.  We are receiving many phone calls, and open doors from pastors and layman alike in those countries who want us to do door-to-door visitation, preach revivals, hold teaching sessions, and more.  The more we receive, the more we can do.  We’d also desire to take evangelism teams with us, as those are always life-changing events, and a great way to get out tracts to the natives.  If you want to plan something, let us know!  There are open doors again for Honduras now that they’ve elected a new president, and the political climate in that country has changed for the better.
We want to express our gratitude to each of you who have been so faithful to this ministry over the past decade.  We really appreciate it.  God bless you every one!

DEATH

With the glee of receiving the official paper statement legally proclaiming our daughter’s birth, we also experienced some sorrow with the death of loved ones.  The end of October, we attended the funeral of my step-grandmother Mrs. Goldie M. Brooks in Pace, Florida.  And then in November, my uncle died, and we drove to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the funeral services of Jim Foley.  My father, Robert R. Breaker, Jr., then passed away the beginning of January.  Although these were solemn occasions, it was good to visit with family that we hadn’t seen for years.
Thinking about death gave me a greater desire to reach the lost.  How sad it is to see someone die.  Sadder still, when it’s a loved one.  But, probably the greatest sorrow is when a person dies without Jesus Christ.  How good it is to die with the Lord, and know where you are going when you die!

DESPAIR

Thinking about our country’s current political situation, it’s hard to see things getting any better as they seem to be spiraling downwards towards the great abyss of more satanic conspiracy against truth and greater governmental control.  Our rights have been trampled, and we are left without knowing which ones we have left, if any.  Things are changing just as promised, but so quickly, sometimes it makes us wonder if there is any hope left in our “elected officials.”  It’s obvious they desire only to fulfill their own selfish agendas, and are no longer interested in “we the people.”
Some wise scholar once said, “History repeats itself time and again.”  We see this happening today, for when America was birthed as a nation, they spoke of the exact same topics as they do in our current news feed: “Tea Parties,” “Taxes,” “Tyranny,” and “Terrorism.”
As America dies, and gives way to Satan’s New World Order, we can’t help but be sorrowful.  Death of a loved one is sad, but the death of a Christian nation is even sadder.
As we travel on deputation, we see and hear things that gives us a sampling of what true Americans think and believe.  Complete and utter despair seems to be the constant emotion in the hearts and minds of people.
I remember stopping in a gas station in Arkansas, and overhearing a lady say, “Ten years from now… [She quickly paused and then added]  Oh, who am I kidding, things are so bad now, ten years from now we’ll all be forced to become Muslims!
Believe it or not, another person actually said, “Things are so bad now, there is no way to fix it.  They are taking everything they can from us, and then they even try to tell us it’s illegal to commit suicide.  Well, that’s one thing they can’t keep us from doing, and one law they can’t enforce!
With the downtrodden spirit of the country, many look forward to November of 2010, thinking an election will change things and make it all better.  They actually think this mess can be turned around.  Well, if you want to think that way, help yourself!  But we’re waiting for the day when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is governing on the throne in Jerusalem, and He’s in complete control.
We aren’t waiting for an earthly election, we are looking up for God’s heavenly selection, when He comes with trumpet’s sound at the rapture to take out His own!  Won’t you take someone to heaven with you?

DEBT

The economy seems to be the main topic on people’s minds, as they continually complain about inflation and wasteful governmental spending, which plunges our country and its citizens into more national debt.  As the old bumper sticker says, “BORN free, and taxed to DEATH!
I recently read another bumper sticker which stated, “We need another Civil War, and this time we need to free the white slaves!
Thinking about the economy and slavery, the Lord brought to my mind Proverbs 22:7,  The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”
Debt enslaves, but Jesus saves!  You should never buy anything you can’t afford!  And you should do your best to never get in debt.  Romans 13:8 commands: “Owe no man any thing…”
The main reason our economy is so bad is because it’s a CREDIT system instead of CASH.  This quickly leads to greed and much wantoness, which causes DEBT, and DEBT leads to slavery.
Because people follow the lust of the flesh, they usually fall into debt because they can’t say “No!” Peer pressure makes them think they deserve to have what everyone else does.  Like one preacher said, “Most people today spend money they don’t have on things they don’t need, to impress people they don’t even like!
Thinking on the word “DEBT,” I thought about my sin debt, which Jesus paid for me.  I’m lucky to have never been in financial debt, and I hope I never will be.  But I have had a sin debt that I couldn’t pay.  I was sinking down and I was a slave to the flesh and the devil.  They were my masters.
How’d I cast off my sin debt? And how does one escape financial debt? One simple word: SACRIFICE!
Thank God, Jesus Christ died in my place for my sins on the cross of Calvary, and shed His blood as a payment for my sins.  He sacrificed His own flesh for me, and His gracious and meritous act of love set me free!
When it comes to financial debt, the only way out is by “sacrificing.  That means “cut back” on your spending, learn to live with less, and spend less until you are able to pay your debt off completely!  Otherwise you’ll be a slave to the devil’s system, and unable to give to the Lord like you should.  The church is suffering today, because Christians won’t put down the flesh and sacrifice to give sacrificially to the cause of Christ.
Jesus is coming soon.  Keep looking up!  Or as Colossians 2:2-4 sums it up nicely:

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

            Because we’ve been set free,

            Robert and Laurabeth Breaker

WITNESSING TO LOST RELIGIOUS PEOPLE

Often we visit Hispanic people and deal with them about their eternal souls.  Often they all say the same thing, “I’m Catholic, and I’m okay.”
Sadly, they don’t realize they are trusting in their religion, their priest, their church, their idols, and their own righteousness, instead of trusting in Jesus Christ alone.  As we deal with them, the strongest thing we find is the power of tradition makes them unwilling to repent and come to Jesus Christ alone for salvation.  They often say, “Well, my mother, and grandmother, and their mother and their grandmother were Catholics, and so am I.”
If their parents were lost, then so are they, and they refuse to think their loved ones could have gone to hell, so they continue in the religion of their forefathers, hoping it will give them eternal life, just as their parents hoped, they’d find forgiveness as well.  But hoping for God to grant you eternal life is not salvation.  God offers a KNOW SO salvation, not a I SURE HOPE SO salvation!
As we reach lost Hispanics (and even Americans alike) with a know so salvation, it never ceases to baffle and astonish us how unimportant to them eternal life is.

THE HOTEL WORKER

At a hotel one time, I witnessed to an illegal Mexican worker.  We talked for over an hour, and it seemed every time I’d show him a Bible verse, or state a sound Bible truth, he’d tell me he already knew that.  It took me a while to realize that he had different definitions to the terms I used.  Our conversation went like this, “Do you know for sure you are going to heaven?
He responded, “Yep, I know I’m going there.”
How do you know,” I asked him.
He answered, “My SPIRIT is going to heaven when I die.”
Sadly, he didn’t realize he had an eternal soul inside his body that would either go to heaven or hell.
I then explained to him about the body, soul, and spirit, and then told him he must be “born again.”
He replied, “Oh, I’m already born again.”
I asked him to explain, and he said, “I got born again through my infant baptism.”
I then had to take him to John three, and then explain born again doesn’t happen to infants, rather to repentant sinners who trust Jesus Christ’s finished work by faith.
I then took him to the Gospel of 1 Cor. 15:1-4 and stressed his need to believe.
He then replied, “Oh, I believe all that.
I knew he wasn’t saved, so I had to ask him what he meant by “believing.”
He responded, “I have known my whole life about Jesus, and I believe he died, was buried, and rose again.  Every Catholic believes that!
I then took him to Acts chapter eight, and showed him his need to “believe with all his heart,” in the sacrificial blood atonement of Jesus Christ.
This then led to him stating, “Oh, I believe in the blood of Jesus!
I almost got excited, but then remembered he’d been twisting everything I had said.  So I asked, “Wait a minute. Please explain yourself. In which blood do you believe in?
He responded, “Why I believe in the blood of Jesus in the cup offered up to God at the mass.”
I was starting to get mad!  Everything I knew to give him, he said he believed in, but as I asked him to explain himself, I could see he was trusting in something else besides what Jesus said.  His religion had given him the right words, but defined them differently, and made them of no worth.
I finally told him that salvation was by FAITH alone in the finished work (i.e. shed blood) of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, and he had to trust that alone for salvation.
This is where he became angry, and replied, “We Catholics trust Jesus.  Of course we do.  But we also trust in Mary, the saints, the Pope, the sacraments and much more.”
He then asked me to leave him alone, calling me “brother,” as I gave him a tract and walked away.  But if he’s trusting in anything other than Jesus alone, he’s still LOST!
How sad that a man could have all the right Bible terms, but chose to place his faith in an anti-Biblical tradition, instead of trusting in the word of God.
As we continue witnessing, we continually see how much harder it is to win souls.  It’s not like the early years of Christianity in which the apostles went to a bunch of pagans and easily explained to them the Gospel.  Now, you almost have to have a deprogramming session with people, and take away all their false doctrine before you can give them the truth, for they might know the Bible words, but they define them differently than God does.
Everything depends upon definitions!  And the word of God defines itself.

HISPANIC IN THE PARK

In Palatka, Florida, I ran into a Hispanic man who began talking to me in English.  His name was Jose Aguilar.  As we talked, I would throw in some Bible verses.  Eventually, he asked me if I was a Christian, and I responded, “I sure am.”
I then told him I’m a Missionary to Spanish Speaking People.  He then began speaking to me in Spanish, and we talked for over thirty minutes in his native tongue.  As we spoke, he mistakenly thought I was a native Spanish Speaker, and fellow migrant worker.  I was honored to hear him say, “Your English isn’t too bad!  How long did it take you to learn it?
I didn’t have the heart to tell him English was my first language, and Spanish was my second.  But I did witness to him.  As I’d begin, he’d interrupt me and go off on a tangent.  I’d start again with the Gospel, and then he’d cut me off again and talk about something else.
The whole time we talked, I could barely get a word in edge-wise.  But I did plant some seeds.  Have you ever dealt with a lost person who wouldn’t let you speak?  That’s a sure-fire way to know they aren’t seeking for salvation.  And when you get to that point in a discussion, it’s time to just give them a tract, and look for someone else who is willing to listen.

THE FOUR MINUTE TESTIMONY

In Palatka, Florida a while back, I was invited to speak at a city wide religious function which invited many different churches and denominations together for what they called “A Night of Faith.”  Each church received several minutes to speak, a chance to sing a special, or both.  I was allotted four minutes.  I never knew you could say so much in such a short time!  I gave them the Gospel, and told them no one is saved by water baptism, but by the blood of Jesus Christ.  I further said it’s not of works, but by faith alone.  I went on and on, hitting each religion represented there.  The majority of those present were blacks, and I enjoyed a plethora of “Amens” and “I know that’s right!” from the colored people there.
I then said, “Religion can’t save you, only Jesus Saves!  I then stated, “You’ve got to be careful of churches that brag about being ROMAN in nature that are full of PRIESTS.  For the ROMANS  and the PRIESTS killed Jesus.
At the end of my four minutes of testimony, a Catholic priest was allowed to speak.  I wish you could have been there.  You could have heard a pin drop.  He had nothing to say, and nothing to offer.  There were no “Amens.”

THE EX-CATHOLIC?

While preaching in an English-Speaking Church in December, I did my best to present the Gospel plainly and clearly.  I also tried to show what people trust in to get to heaven other than Jesus Christ.  People are apt to trust their:  Parents, Purity, Church Participation, Profession, Persistence, Prayer, Priest, etc., before they’ll rest solely in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Afterwards an ex-catholic woman came up to speak with me.  She said, “Well, I had a guy come up to me once and ask: ‘You are saved, aren’t you?  Cause you just look saved!’
She then said, “Isn’t that cool?  That guy said I was saved, and it shocked me.
I then asked, “So are you saved?
She responded, “Oh, yes of course!
I then pressed by asking, “When and how did you get saved?
She then replied angrily, “Oh, don’t ask me that!  I don’t remember, and I don’t want to think about it!
I then thought to myself: “How on earth could a person say they were saved, then not want to talk about it, much less remember it?”
She then shut me up and wouldn’t let me talk.  She only wanted to convey to me her religious experience.  Does it sound like she’s trusting the fact that someone else told her she was saved and that’s what makes her saved?  You decide.  I wouldn’t trade places with a person like that for all the gold in the world!  I’m glad I know I’m saved!  And, I’m more than happy to tell others about my salvation.  How about you?

September - October 2009

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.  (Phil. 2:15-16)

Dear Friends, Family, and Fondest brethren,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!  The Breaker Family is hanging in there and remaining faithful amidst an age of apostasy and continual attacks against bible-believing Christians.  These attacks come not only from the lost world, but also from religious zealots who seek to defend their own false teachings instead of following God’s holy word.  It seems the more one tries to abide by the Bible, the more he’s ridiculed for not compromising and changing like so many others have done.  When one stands firm on bible doctrine, this pricks the conscience of those who have changed their biblical position, and rather than admit they are wrong, they will attack and even crucify those who don’t go along with their modernistic teachings.  (See Jesus Christ in his earthly ministry as he battled the Pharisees who eventually killed him for speaking with authority.)
Truly, we are in the last days.  And the closer we approach the rapture, the more angry and actively hostile people become towards sound doctrinal truth.  Even in our Fundamental Christian circles, we see so much change, that many are beginning to “name-call” and “label” those in their own camp who won’t compromise with them.
For example, when a preacher preaches hard on the importance of the blood of Christ, the Pharisees of today call him a *“Calvinist.”  As one expounds sound doctrine from the epistles of Paul, he is labeled a *“Hyper-Dispensationalist” by the modern-day Sadducees.   As one preaches living a holy, spirit-filled life to please God, they are immediately branded a *“Legalist” by those who have turned the grace of God into lasciviousness. (Jude 1:4)
To be a Christian today and take a hard stand on truth and righteousness, is to mark yourself with a giant bulls-eye, and open yourself to ridicule and scorn.  But, we are okay with that!  We’ve learned that most of the time, what someone accuses you of is the very thing they are guilty of themselves.  And rather than give up or compromise, we’ve determined ever so much the more to preach harder, pray longer, praise louder, and propagate the gospel farther!

PREACHING

We’ve attended several meetings these last two months.  The sixth of September we visited a church in Mobile, Alabama.  Afterwards the Pastor took us to the church’s Food Bank, and we were able to stock up on much needed food supplies.  This helped us greatly, as our support level is still low, and free groceries are a blessing!
The end of September, I was part of a “Remembrance Service,” in Brewton Alabama, in which seven men preached on the seven sayings of Christ on the cross for 10 minutes each.  My sermon was on those famous words, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”  (Luke 23:43)
In October we attended a Mission’s Conference in Deland, Florida.  We also visited the Homer Rodeheaver Boys Ranch in Palatka, Florida, where I gave devotions nightly to the troubled youth there.  The last two nights, I preached by campfire to the forty plus boys on the subjects of Hell and Christ our Substitute.

WITNESSING TO LOST HISPANICS

We attend a good church in Brewton, Alabama, while we aren’t on the road, and have made some friends there.  These friends have given us several opportunities to witness to lost Hispanics they’ve met.  Since they know no Spanish themselves, they come to us to deal with them.
While preaching in the jail ministry, one brother met a Hispanic lad who needed help.  We then contacted a friend of his named Lazaro Paredes to bail him out.  I witnessed personally to Lazaro, but he wasn’t interested.  However, he did take a Spanish New Testament and some tracts.  Please pray for his salvation.
We also passed out all our Spanish tracts (about 500) in the last two months, and are in the process of printing more.  Hispanics are everywhere in the U.S., and we are quick to give them the Gospel!  They all have the same testimony though.  With dollar signs in their eyes, they’ve come to the U.S. to make a living.  It’s hard to deal with those whose god is money.   But at least they do listen, unlike most Americans who are too busy for God.

*A Calvinist is someone who preaches the Gospel, but teaches a person can never know for sure if they are saved or not.  They further teach ridiculous things like “Limited Atonement” which states Jesus didn’t die for everyone.  But the Bible is clear, Jesus died for all men (1 Tim. 2:4-6).
*A Hyper-dispensationalist is a made-up word applied to anyone who doesn’t believe exactly like the person using the word thinks they should.  Usually it’s applied to someone who ‘divides’ the bible more than those who use the term.  But we are commanded to ‘rightly divide’ the word of God as the bible teaches (2 Tim. 2:15).
*A Legalist is someone who tries to put others under the Old Testament law for salvation, something which is completely forbidden in the New Testament, as salvation is not by works, but by faith (Gal. 2:16 and Eph. 2:8,9).  It’s been my experience that usually those who call others “legalists” are actually “liberals” themselves. (2 Peter 2:17-21).

DISTRIBUTING NEW TESTAMENTS

Before leaving for South Florida, I received an email from a preacher’s wife in Arcadia, Florida asking my pastor in Monterrey, Mexico for 32 Spanish New Testaments of our Valera 1602 Purified.  He then emailed me her request the day before we left for Sarasota.  I looked on my shelf, and I had just that exact amount left!  I took them with me, and we called her to come pick them up.  We left several messages, and prayed she’d return our call.  On the last day at Laura’s parents house, she called just in time and drove over to pick up the New Testaments!   Isn’t it awesome how God works?  If my pastor had sent the email any later, we wouldn’t have taken them with us, and if she’d called any later, we would have missed her.

TRACTS

On Halloween, we were in North Georgia, visiting my wife’s sister.  (We usually stay with family while we are on the road, to save money on hotel bills.)  We had a great time visiting with her home church “Tricking or Tracting.”  We gave away tracts, church flyers, and Gospel literature in an attractive bag, as we knocked on doors and invited people to church.  It was a lot of fun!
We have also written a new Gospel tract, enclosed with this letter, entitled, “What can Wash Away Your Sin?”  I hope it’s a blessing to you.

YOU TUBE VIDEO UPDATES

I’ve posted four videos on Youtube© about the Spanish Bible Issue.  (Two in English and two in Spanish).  We’ve already had over 200 hits!  And, we’ve received several inquiries about our pure Spanish Bible the 1602 Valera Purificada.
You can see our videos by typing in “Robert Breaker Spanish Bible in the search menu at www.youtube.com.

OUR BOOKS

I’ve now authored over 15 books.  We still receive orders for these, and the tracts we print.
Recently, Gail Riplinger contacted us and asked if she could include our three books about the Spanish Bible Issue in her latest catalog.  We readily accepted and look forward to people getting those.
We also received a great word of commendation from a Hispanic person who read our book on “Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage.”  His words translated into English are included in this prayer letter.

BIRTH CERTIFICATE UPDATE

On October 15th, we went before a circuit court judge of Escambia County, and pleaded our case for a birth certificate.  He would not look at any of our proof that Emma is our child, but instead told us we had to take a DNA test, stating, “I believe in Science, and that’s the only evidence I will receive.”
Our hearts sank, as we remembered the following Bible verse:

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED.”  (1 Tim. 6:20)

Everything now hinges upon the results of the DNA test we were forced to take the same day.  Our destiny now rests in “science.”  We ask for your prayers that our results would come back right without any “human error” on the part of the lab workers (which we’ve found out is rather common).  As soon as the results prove our case, the judge is to write a court order demanding the state of Alabama to issue us a birth certificate.  However, this could take anywhere from 4-6 weeks, or longer.  Please pray this ordeal would be over soon!  We also have to pay the court costs, which the judge assured us would be no more than a couple hundred dollars.

People continually ask us how to pray for us.  The best way to pray for us to for protection, provision, and power

Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support as we serve the Lord!  We appreciate you greatly.

July - August 2009

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.    (1 John 5:19-21)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our great and blessed Lord,

It cannot be denied that our world is in a mess today both physically and spirituallyHatred, crime, apathy, deception, piracy, and immorality are rampant everywhere, and things don’t look to be getting better any time soon.
What’s worse is the church doesn’t even seem to be making a positive impact on society, rather it is part of the problem.  Yet, it brags of doing more and spending more for the cause of Christ.  So why aren’t things getting better?   There are more fundamentalist churches in the world today, more missionaries, and more soul winners.  So why isn’t there more revival in the world than any other time in history?  Something is terribly wrong!
Those of you who know your Bible, realize we are at the end of the church age, in a time of utter apostasy, right before Jesus returns.  Jesus prophesied this would happen, so it should be no surprise to us. But it is disappointing.
Even the once great Independent Baptist movement is swelling with apostasy, and is almost to the point of doing more harm than good.  While most dogmatically claim to be Bible Believers, it’s apparent very few are even Bible Readers, as the majority are departing from sound Bible doctrine to embrace worldly teachings, secular psychology, and modern man-made programs, instead of good, old-fashioned Holy Ghost preaching.
The Christian world has its parallel in the political world, where people are waking up to the rampant corruption in our governing body.  They have grown despondent with the old traditional parties who are making things worse instead of better, and this has given rise to what the news media is calling Independents.  I pray the same will soon happen in the modern fundamentalist movement, as the old factions seems to be getting worse instead of better, bragging upon themselves, rather than our Lord Jesus.  What we need are some Independent, Independent Baptists!
As we watch the ridiculous spectacle before us in both the church and the world, we find it easy to get discouraged.  But as we read our Bible, we realize the reason for all this confusion is a unified hatred for truth (2 Thes. 2:10), and a growing love of darkness (John 3:19).
Thus, we’ve determined ever so much the more to get madder, preacher harder, and reach farther as we point sinners to the right gospel, the right mode of living, and the right Bible.  I firmly believe the rapture is close, and we look forward to going home shortly!  But we also desire to go out with a bang, and pray you’ll be encouraged to do the same!

PASSING OUT TRACTS

The fourth of July, Laura and I took our baby Emma with us to the fireworks celebration in East Brewton.  There, we passed out over 600 tracts.  As we walked closer to the secular music at the park, we noticed an interesting thing.  The closer to the loud festivities, the more people rejected our tracts, and the father away from the rock music, the less people rejected them.  I guess that goes to show you the influence worldly music has on people!

PREACHING IN JAIL

I preached in a jail in Brewton, Alabama on July 14th with a local pastor.  Afterwards, a young black man came up and said, “I bunk with a Muslim, and he keeps attacking me.  He says Jesus isn’t God, and he keeps asking me to show him a verse that says He isCan you show me a verse like that?
I then showed him Acts 20:28, John 20:28, 1 John 5:20, and more.
He replied excitedly, “Oh, that’s good!  I can’t wait to show him these!  These will tear him up!”
It’s great to see people excited about the word of God!

PRESENTING THE GOSPEL TO LOST MEXICANS

While not on the road preaching in meetings, we’ve been attending a good Bible Believing church in Brewton, Alabama.  One Sunday evening after church, someone backed into our car in the parking lot, and left several dents.  They offered to fix it.  And, I took it into town for several estimates.

While turning the car over to a local body shop for repair, I met another local pastor, and introduced myself as a Missionary Evangelist to Spanish Speaking People.  He told me about some Hispanic people he knew just up the street, so Laura and I went there and knocked on the door.  We found three Mexicans watching the rodeo on T.V., and I asked if I could come in and preach to them.  They let me do so.  For more than twenty minutes, I preached my heart out in Spanish, and stressed their need to be saved.  But, they all agreed they weren’t ready, so I left them tracts and New Testaments.  Please pray for their salvation.  I plan to visit them again.
As we left, I came across another Hispanic fellow.  I gave him a tract, and he replied, “Oh, the scriptures.  Thank you.  But I have this…
He then pulled out a rosary.  How sad he was trusting in his vain repetitions, instead of in Jesus Christ alone.
I then responded, “That’s not the same as the scriptures!  You need to read the scriptures,” and I pointed at the tract.  He seemed a little tipsy, so I asked him to put the tract in his pocket and read it later.  He did so, and assured me he’d read it.  Please pray he’d trust Christ as his Saviour.

PAPERWORK TO THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE

Our on-going battle with the Alabama Vital Statistics Office over acquiring our baby’s birth certificate has been anything but easy, and has kept us from traveling out of the country.  And because we can’t afford a lawyer, we have had to do all the paperwork ourselves pro se, which has been an interesting experience.
As most of you know, we had Emma Lee Juliet at home, on Dec. 10th of last year.  We immediately started the necessary paperwork, and mailed it in.  The government bureaucrats, who are against home birth anyway, said they would not accept our witnesses, and we’ve been battling them ever since.  We even contacted our congressman and state representative, and they helped get things rolling.  The state health attorney of Alabama caught wind of our adversity and called us to tell us what paperwork we needed to file in order to have a judge hear our case.
The end of July we submitted the Affidavit of Hardship with the county court clerk, and petitioned a hearing with a local judge.  That might sound easy enough, but it was a load of paperwork, and a lot of hassle.  But our paperwork was approved, and we were delighted to hear we would not have to pay any court costs!  However, instead of setting a date for our hearing, as the law says they were supposed to, they are dragging their feet.  The excuse is, “Well, you know the judicial system.  It’s anything but fast!
So now we are in limbo, waiting for a court date and the opportunity to present all our evidence to a judge that Emma is indeed our child, and was born at our home in Alabama.  Please pray for this trying and excruciating ordeal to be over soon!

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

We’re getting several calls from Honduras asking us to come and preach.  One pastor in particular, Bro. Florentino Aguilar, has asked us to come and visit four new villages he’s recently entered into preaching the Gospel.  He wants us to give teaching sessions, do door-to-door evangelism, teach on how to win souls, and more.
Pastor Alexis Flores in Guaimaca, Honduras, wants us to preach a week long revival in his area, and Missionary Erick Sanchez wants us to preach several teaching conferences in the mountains around Intibucá, Honduras.
Please pray we can get our baby’s birth certificate, and passport soon, so we can set up a time to go there and do these things.  This is a wide open door!

PRINTING

After our last prayer letter with the tract we wrote on “tongues,” we received a letter from a pastor who wanted two hundred more.  We were thrilled, and gladly printed them and sent them out.
We are enclosing a new tract we’ve printed lately entitled, “BIBLICAL WORDS OF SALVATION.”  This is one of my favorites.  I hope it’s a blessing.  More are available if you so desire to order them.

A PERSONAL NOTE OF ENCOURAGMENT

The end of August we received a phone call from Gail Riplinger (author of New Age Bible Versions).  We talked for some time, and she greatly encouraged us by telling us she appreciated our ministry and strong stand for the word of God in Spanish.
She also stated in her estimation I was: “The foremost authority on the Spanish Bible,” and said she liked my book about the problems in the modernistic Gomez Spanish Bible version.
She later sent us a complementary copy of her new book entitled, “Hazardous Materials: Greek and Hebrew Study Dangers: The Voice of Strangers: The Men behind the Smokescreen Burning Bibles.”
It does an awesome job of exposing the men behind lexicons and false bible versions as cross-dressers, séance attenders, social drinkers, occultists, and followers of Madam Blavatsky.  I highly recommend you to get a copy!  She even endorses our Spanish Bible Version in her chapter on foreign language translations!

POSTING VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

We’ve been trying to figure out ways to reach more people with the truth about the Spanish Bible and why both the 1865 and the modernistic Gomez aren’t perfect, and why our 1602 Purified Spanish Bible is the best.  We finally came to the realization that since so many people look up YouTube© that it’d be a great place to present the facts.  So we taped a brief video presenting facts about the Spanish Bible, which we will be posting soon.
A special thanks to Jeff Johnson for buying us a video camera with easy upload to YouTube©.  More videos about the Spanish Bible in both English and Spanish will be posted soon, as we desire to flood the internet with information on the Right Spanish Bible, especially now with such a weighty endorsement from Gail Riplinger.

PERUSING A DVD ABOUT THE DATE OF THE SECOND ADVENT

Several months ago a friend sent me a DVD by a pastor entitled: Daniel’s Timeline.  His teachings focus on God’s calendar, and in the course of his presentation he gives some compelling evidence of when he thinks the Second Advent might be.  We’ve included a copy of this DVD for you in this prayer letter, but with the following disclaimer:  The views and ideas expressed in this DVD do not necessarily reflect our teachings.  Nor do we endorse the speaker, as we don’t know much about him.
So few Christians practice discernment nowadays, and we thought it’d be worthwhile for you to discern this video for yourself.  I’ve watched it several times, and it gives me a great sense of urgency (something I believe is truly missing in Christian circles), and strengthens my faith in the word of God, and the promise of His soon appearing.  We hope it might be a blessing to you as well, as you discern the truths presented in his video.

A PERSONAL TESTIMONY OF FAITH

With this prayer letter, which is already lengthy and accompanied by a tract and DVD, we also want to give you a word of testimony from a lady in Mississippi.  This is an older word of testimony from several years ago, but none the less important.  It’s from a young lady who read our tract on “THE BLOODLESS GOSPEL” and was saved because of it.  I hope it’s a blessing to you, and if you’re not saved, you’ll put your complete faith in the SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, just as the lady who writes to us did!

Because life isn’t worth living unless we’re serving our Lord Jesus Christ,

            Robert and Laurabeth Breaker
            1 Sam. 12:24!

LETTER FROM THE LADY IN MISSISSIPPI:

“Dear Mr. Breaker,

My name is (_______) and I am from (_______), Mississippi.  I am writing this letter to express to you how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to read your tracts on faith, justification, and the blood-less gospel.  They were so helpful to me in a time of great struggle.
I began struggling with my salvation nearly a year ago.  My entire life I was raised in church, had a good Christian family, and I was even a member of my high school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  I knew a lot about Jesus and the Bible, and trusted Him to help along the way in high school, and also in college.  Never during my 20 years had it ever occurred to me that I was not saved.  I was basing all of this on the fact that around the age of seven I made a profession of faith.  I had never doubted for one minute that I was not saved.  However, during a visit to my grandparents’s house…last Thanksgiving, my eyes were opened to the fact that I may not be saved.  I honestly could not answer the question about where I was going when I died.  The unassurance I had about this fact was making my life miserable.  I was constantly overwhelmed with thoughts of how terrible Hell would be.  I was losing sleep, I couldn’t eat, and I couldn’t understand why I didn’t know for sure that I was going to Heaven.  Christmas vacation was not much of one for me since I was having anxiety attacks and problems with depression.  I had never experienced anything like this before, but I knew exactly what was causing it…
In talking to one of my friends on a Monday night, I realized that I was not saved.  So I set out to get saved that night.  She read to me from Romans and I said the sinner’s prayer.  When I left that night I felt pretty good, but the next day, I was miserable again.  I was plagued with questions like, “Did I pray that prayer right,” or “Was I sincere enough?
I would temporarily ease these fears with answers like, “I asked Jesus to come into my heart, and if I ask, He will come.  For a while this would help, but I was still having my doubts.”
During this time, I talked to my preacher at my family’s home church, the leader of the Baptist Student Union on my college campus, many friends, and family.  However I still could not get the answers that I needed.  All along I had been reading the Bible, hoping that I would be able to see the truth in some specific verse.  I knew I was on the right track…
…While talking to my granddaddy during the visit, he gave me the copies of your tracts to read as well.  I read them while I was there, and then brought them home to Mississippi.  I read them each time I had a question (that was sometimes three or four times a day).  It was all becoming more clear to me, that salvation is a gift.  Although I knew the scriptures, I was still trying to figure out what I had “to do” or “how much” I had to believe in order to be saved.  I was also beginning to realize the reason I had not gotten saved that night with my friend was because I was putting my trust in the prayer and my sincerity.  I was not putting my trust in what Jesus had already done for me.
In reading your tracts…it helped me to be able to give a positive, doubt free answer to the question, “Am I sure I am going to heaven with I die?  My answer is a strong 100% YES!  I am going to heaven because Jesus died for me!  It is so easy to trust in someone who is so trustworthy.  I am not going to Heaven because of anything I have done.  I am going because of what He has done.
This experience also taught me that there are a lot of people who are lost and on their way to Hell.  There was not a single person at school who told me that doubting was unacceptable.  This is such a scary truth.  There are many people who honestly believe they are going to Heaven.  Yet none of these professing Christians told me the reason I doubted was because I was lost.  Some of them even told me that it was okay to doubt.  Now I want to reach out to these people.  I believe that my experiences should be shared with as many people as possible, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
…He is so gracious and so merciful.  He gave me chance after chance.  He was watching out for me, even when I was not saved, and PRAISE THE LORD, now I am in His hand FOREVER!  It is the most wonderful feeling in the world to know beyond any doubts that Heaven is my eternal home.  I thank God that he sent your messages my way.  They were so helpful in my biggest time of need.  Thank you so much for sharing the truth with me.  Now I am excited to go share it with others.

            Your Sister in Christ”

MY BRIEF COMMENT ON THIS TESTIMONY

This exciting testimony does a great job of showing one of the greatest problems in modern Christianity today!  As a child, she was raised in church and reared by Christian parents.  She even made a profession at an early age.  But her profession was not possession.
Many churches pressure a child to just repeat a prayer and then tell the child they are saved the rest of their lives because they did that.   This makes the sinner’s testimony based on what someone else told them.  And they usually spend their whole lives thinking they are going to heaven because someone else told them they are, not because they are trusting in Jesus alone who died in their place for their sins, shedding His blood on the cross of Calvary.
Often times, young people end up confused, and spend their lives doubting.  But instead of being pointed to Jesus, they are told to pray the sinner’s prayer all over again for assurance.  They then do this over and over, oftentimes several times a day, asking God to forgive them and give them eternal life.  But they never get true assurance, because they are trusting their PRAYER instead of trusting in Christ Jesus and His PRECIOUS shed blood.
If their first prayer doesn’t save them and give them assurance, why would they think the second, or third, or fourth prayer would?
It’s only when a person gives up trusting in his or her own righteousness, and trusts only in the righteousness of God that they are saved.
God dealt with this young lady and showed to her her lost condition.  She then turned from trusting her prayer to trusting Christ’s payment for her sins.  Now she’s saved, has assurance, and has a great desire to reach others!
Everyone claims to be a Christian nowadays, but why is it there is more sin in the world than ever before?  Could it be that many of those who claim to be Christians are like this young lady—trusting in what they SAID instead of resting in the precious blood God SHED?
I’ll let you decide.  But we thank God our tracts have been a blessing to others, and have led to other’s salvation, and have given them “Blessed Assurance” (as the old hymn says).

March - April 2009

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.                 (1 Peter 1:3-4)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord,

God is good, and his mercies endure for ever!  We are so pleased to have the privilege of serving Him, that our joy abounds without measure.  Unspeakable are the many blessings God has bestowed upon us in the past few months.  One of the greatest joys is our lovely daughter, who turned 4 months old on the tenth of April.  She is so cute, and her continual smiles remind us just how fortunate we really are!

PRESENTING THE WORK

As most of you know, we are on deputation again trying to raise more support for our ministry.  As we travel to different churches to present the work, we are also planning trips to Mexico, Honduras, and other places, as we continue on our missionary journeys, taking the Gospel with us where so ever we go.
In March and April, we were blessed to stay close to home with meetings in North Florida.  At one Missions conference, we experienced great fellowship, but not without grave sickness.  Christians truly share everything with one another, especially their colds and flus.  Laura, myself, and the baby fell ill almost two weeks with a fever and cough after the conference.  But we persevered and came through the stronger.  As the old saying goes, “Whatever doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger!

PRINTING MINISTRY UPDATE

Our support level is not as high as we’d like it, so we’ve learned to do as much as we can with what we do receive.  We also aren’t too proud to take handouts, hand me downs, or leftovers.  Frugality is our motto, thankfulness is our demeanor, and fidelity is our goal.
In March, Laura helped me build a small dark room out of leftover wood we had on the property from the previous owners.  We installed a floor and one wall.  We lack several walls before we can have our printing office ready to go.  We’ll then have to buy the plates, chemicals, ink, and paper for printing tracts on the machine that’s been donated to us the end of last year.  Until then, we are still using our old laser printer to print tracts and booklets, as we are still getting many requests for our literature in both English and Spanish.  Please pray we would be able to get our new printing press up and running soon.

PRECIOUS SOUL GETS SAVED!

It seems so hard to win souls in these last days.  So many people are completely enthralled in sinful depravity and worldly lusts, they want nothing of God, nor Christ’s blood atonement.  It seems the more you preach the Gospel, the less results you see.  But our job is not to look for results, rather to be faithful in pointing the lost and dying world to the cross of Calvary.
Soul winning is like catching fish.  When you are fishing, and you don’t catch anything, it’s not fun.  But when you are fishing, and you pull one up on the line, it can be an exciting time.  The only thing better is when you have a fish jump into the boat!  Well, the end of April, God tossed one right into my lap, as I checked my email and saw a letter from a twenty-seven-year-old man asking me to call him and tell him how to be saved.  I did, and we talked for over thirty minutes, as I gave him verses on salvation.  To make a long story short, he trusted the SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST to save his never dying soul, right there over the telephone!  Afterwards, he had a concern for his wife, a lost Lutheran.  I then gave him a list of verses on how to win her to the Lord, and he said he’d show them to her.  Please pray she’d get saved as well.

CHRISTIAN POLITICS

I’ve always been an outsider ever since I was a kid, never really fitting in with any one group.  When I became a Christian, I was naïve enough to think all Christians were alike, and each one loved the other with an undying love.  I never knew there were cliques and groups not only within Baptist churches, but even within the Independent Baptist movement itself.  Boy, did I have a lot to learn!
As most of you know, there are several big camps within the Independent Baptist movement, each one built upon a man (Bob Jones, Peter Ruckman, Jack Hyles, J. Frank Norris, etc.)  Usually, these camps only invite missionaries from their own camps in to their churches to present their work and preach.  But if they are all worshipping the same God, preaching the same Gospel, and standing firm on the same doctrines, shouldn’t they all work together?
Sadly, most independent Baptists are so firmly entrenched in their own camps, they will not even give those without their group the time of day. This is why on deputation, the most asked question of us by many pastors and missionaries is, “What camp are you in?
I enjoy answering: “We are without the camp with Jesus!” (See Hebrews 13:13 for further particulars).
Amidst this “groupism” mentality among Independent Baptists, it’s getting harder and harder to raise support as a missionary.  We are continually getting doors slammed in our faces, because we aren’t part of their secret society.  But our desire is not to be “groupies,” rather followers of Christ.  Christian society is not as important and Christian piety.
Please pray for us, as we not only battle the world, the flesh, and the devil, but we also are faced with Baptist discrimination.  This spiritual apartheid mentality can be discouraging at times, but we thank God for people like you who know our hearts, are interested in what we are doing, and share our desire in reaching the lost.

1602 PURIFIED

We continually receive emails from people who want a pure Spanish Bible.  As most of you know, our home church in Mexico has worked over 16 years on giving the Spanish-Speaking world a pure Spanish Bible, based upon the Textus Receptus and Hebrew Masoretic Texts, underlying the King James Bible.  We don’t only think our 1602 Purified is the best Spanish Bible, but are hearing many such claims from Spanish Speakers around the globe, emailing us their praises of our version.
Many of you might have heard of the new Reina-Valera Gomez bible coming out, competing with our 1602 Purified.  I’ve studied the Gomez extensively, and have written a brief treatise about that version and why our 1602 Purified is better.  To read it, go to:

            www.rrb3.com/mypub/books/truth_about_gomez.htm

Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support!

Because He shed His precious Blood for even us,

            Robert and Laura Beth Breaker
