Dear Supporters, Friends, and Fellowlabourers in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Greetings once again from Central America! My wife and I are fine and have enjoyed a month of travel and ministering. We’ve also been privileged to able to be a blessing to others, and have seen some blessings ourselves in return.
On the sixth, we had a group of Americans come down from Washington State for ten days. Missionary Mike Lane invited them, and we helped by taking them to various areas in Honduras to see different works. I often acted as “interpreter” and helped with what the natives were saying.
We visited churches, orphanages, and villages. They also helped us with evangelism and tract distribution. On the ninth, they all came to Quebrada de Lajas where I’m working and invited people to service. We had a good crowd that night and I asked Missionary Ed Eddington from Guatemala to preach. What a great message he gave about David and Goliath!
While they were here, we also had a great time going with them to the Copan Indian Ruins. These are a “Must See” for anyone who visits Honduras!
After they left, Laura and I drove to the Northern Coast of Honduras to the cities of Tela, La Ceiba, and Trujillo, exploring and passing out tracts. We were also trying to track down a nurse friend of my Mom’s who came down to visit. Unfortunately, we didn’t find her.
Towards the end of February, we took a bus to Costa Rica. Laura still has to leave every three months, as we are unable to get her Residence Visa. Thus, we usually take a trip for a few days and then return. We’ve been to Guatemala, Mexico, and Belize, so this time we decided we’d visit Costa Rica. (Now all we lack are El Salvador and Panama to be able to say we’ve passed out tracts in each Central American Country!)
It was an agonizing 17 hour bus trip! We left at six in the morning and arrived there at eleven at night! But it was worth it as for the next three days we walked all over the capital city of San Jose and passed out 5000 Spanish tracts entitled “Todo Esto Hice Por Ti.” (All This I Did For Thee in English).
So February has been a month of much travel and service. And it’s been fun to play tourist. But the greatest part was leading a person to the Lord. For on the fifth, I had the privilege of winning 14-year-old Jenny Gonzalez to the Lord after services in my house! What a blessing!
Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support!
