Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.  (Eph. 1:3)

Greetings in the name of our wonderful and blessed Saviour Jesus Christ,

God has heaped upon us showers of blessings these last two months, and the many seeds we’ve planted in service to our Lord and King have blossomed forth unto abundant fruit.  What joy it is to serve the Lord!  And greater still to see that our labour is not in vain!

THE LONG TRIP

The 21st of January, after having sold most of our things, we loaded my Suburban with all we had left in the world and embarked upon a nine-day journey overland from Honduras to the United States.  It was an agonizing trip through Guatemala and Mexico, but we had a wonderful time, as we passed out tracts the whole way.  We were stopped eight times by the military in Mexico, and handed out Bibles and New Testaments to soldiers on several occasions.  The only real problem on the trip was with our own U.S. immigration service at the border town of Brownsville, Texas.  At first they didn’t want to allow my truck into the country because it had Honduras license plates.  But after some explaining, sweating, and prayer, they eventually allowed us to enter the country.
I’d driven from Honduras to the states before, but always someone else drove.  This was the first time I braved the trip “solo.”  Laura and I had a great time, and felt safe the entire way.  We feel confident we can make this journey again anytime in the future.
We also saw the open border policy in Honduras with Guatemala.  Now it does not cost a dime to pass from one country to another in Central America.

THE GREAT NEED

Upon arriving in the United States of America, we did what all Missionaries who’ve just come back from the field do—we went to Wal-mart!  There I noticed that all the products and signs were in both English and Spanish.  And, I heard two hispanics talking.  One said to the other, “There are so many of us illegals here in America, that they are beginning to put our language on all the products.  This makes it easier for us to understand.”
Conservatively, there are between 30 to 50 million illegal aliens in the United States of America.  Who will go and reach them?  What can you do to give them the Gospel?

THE BLESSED FRUIT

Before leaving Honduras, I called the church in El Tejar together and we had a special meeting.  The church then voted in three deacons.  These include:  Clemente, Leonidas, and Hotir.
I also spent some time teaching these men classes on How to Prepare and Deliver Sermons.  They are now preaching in the church and in mission works in the mountains. And, Clemente recently won two ladies to the Lord!
In our other church in Quebrada de Lajas, another disciple of mine, 16 year old Adonai Arriaga, has begun preaching in services.  He is a meek and quiet boy who doesn’t speak loudly, but he has a heart for God!
I am receiving phone call after phone call here in the U.S. from people I’ve led to the Lord in Honduras, all thanking me for teaching and preaching to them.  I recently heard from 21 year old Salvador who is now preaching in the mountains also (he came to my class on preparing and delivering sermons as well).
So God has used our time in Honduras and has blessed with faithful men who have also surrendered their lives to the Lord’s service and are preaching the blessed Gospel of Christ’s sacrificial blood atonement!

GETTING OUR HOUSE IN ORDER AND PLANNING

We are now in our home in Alabama, and plan to stay here while I do the tedious work of calling Pastors and setting up meetings.  As we travel and do more much-needed deputation in the U.S., we will be planning missionary journeys back to Honduras, Guatemala, and other places, while we also try to reach the lost hispanic population in America.  Please pray that God will give us the support we need to do this awesome task set before us.  (Also, a special thanks to all of you that have been giving more lately to help us in our time of need!)
Lastly, if you know of any others looking to support Missionaries, please let me know.  I’ve found it’s getting harder and harder to find good sound Bible Believing Christians and Churches in these last days.

ONE LAST THOUGHT

As we traveled through Guatemala, we saw volcano after volcano, many bellowing forth white clouds of smoke.  As I watched them angrily vent their impending doom, I thought about the fiery lava pits of hell, and how important it is to win souls.  Hell slumbers not, and like those ominous volcanoes, no one knows when its fury shall be unleashed.  That’s why it’s so important to reach lost souls for Christ!
This is why I’m enclosing the new Gospel tract I’ve recently written in both English and Spanish.  You might not be able to speak Spanish, but could I challenge you to at least pass out this one tract to a Hispanic person in your area?    This way you can reach lost Hispanics also!
If you like the tract in English, you are more then welcome to copy and distribute it too!
