There has been so much taking place the last two months, it’s hard to know where to begin. We’ve had sorrow, but we’ve also seen it turn into joy, and we rejoice knowing that God is always on the throne, and has a wonderful way of changing things, that oftentimes are sad, into something that can make us glad, grateful, and utterly amazed at how he works.
...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
As most of you know, we have been taking care of my 94 year old grandmother. She was in such good health up until several months ago, when she became sick and never fully recovered. She ultimately passed away on the 15th of September, here at our house.
Although we were very sad at her passing, we were prepared for it, as we knew several weeks in advance that it was coming. We did all we could to make her last days comfortable. And we enjoyed our time with her.
I would like to now tell about her testimony of salvation. When my Dad passed away (it will be six years ago in January of next year), my grandmother began thinking more and more about death. My Dad witnessed to her all the time, so she knew the gospel probably better than anyone. But she never trusted it. But about a year after Dad passed, she sat down at the table with me, and said, “Okay, let’s go through this again. Give it to me once more. Tell me about the gospel and how to get to heaven.” So I did. After which, she said, “Okay, so that’s it. I believe that Jesus died for MY SINS!” Before that, she would say she believed that Jesus existed and that he died for the sins of the world, but she never claimed to believe that he did it for her. It was like she knew the gospel before with her head, but never trusted it from her heart.
What joy filled my soul to hear her say she believed, and that it was a personal belief; that she trusted it was for HER sins. So I believe she was saved, and we rejoice knowing we’ll see her in heaven someday.
She also loved to help me with my prayer letters, and enjoyed folding and stuffing the letters in the envelopes. I miss her so much and appreciate her for all she’s done for us. Although it was sad, I’m rejoicing knowing she’s in heaven with the Lord and with my Dad.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. (Prov. 11:30)
As we were going through our trying time of watching my grandmother as she passed, God really opened some doors, and showed us he loved us by giving us some souls for our labour. Several hours before my grandmother passed, I got a phone call at about midnight (thankfully I was still up). It was from a man who had watched my Youtube videos, and said that he wanted to be saved. I had the chance to win him to the Lord over the phone! That was so cool! While my grandmother died, this guy got eternal life. What a great blessing in such a trying time! (Sorrow turned to joy!)
The best part, was he really got on fire for the Lord, and he called me a week later to tell me that he had then led his Dad and sister to the Lord as well. That was so awesome!
About a week after my grandmother went home to be with the Lord, Laura had a chance to speak with a woman over the phone and lead her to the Lord as well! That was a double blessing! And that’s not all! September and October turned out to be some very fruitful months!...
Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching. (Rom. 12:7)
We’ve been getting many phone calls, emails, and letters from people all over the world, thanking me for my preaching and teaching videos on Youtube and www.thecloudchurch.org. I also got quite a few emails and letters from people who got saved watching my videos! I can’t set an exact number, but conservatively; at least seven or eight people have contacted us saying that they were saved after watching my preaching the Gospel online. This was so very exciting!
It seems like the most trying times we go through are the times when God seems to work the most in our lives and use us for his honor and glory! Thank you Jesus!
That’s not all. We received many phone calls from other Christians as well thanking us for our bible teaching videos, telling us they are learning so much through them. We’ve even heard from several groups in different parts of the world who are meeting and using these videos during their Bible Studies, or to help them as they teach others.
One man in particular, in Canada, said he started a Bible Study in his home back in January, and he’s been using my online videos to help him. He said he believed like I do, and was so thankful that I’m putting out good, sound Bible material for others to use as they start churches the world over. So, we truly thank God for that. The ministry here is really taking off, and it’s not just to one place, but it seems through the internet, it’s going to the entire world! It is so exciting to see how God is using us as we serve him.
I also met a Spanish Pastor who is the head of a Bible College in South Florida, who asked me to do some teaching in his Hispanic Bible Institute. He also asked me to travel with him to Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras in the future. So that’s another open door. How did he find me? Through my online Youtube sermons! What a blessing!

Well, just about the time things start going well, something always seems to happens to throw a monkey wrench into the works. Murphy’s law seems to be undeniable. So in October Murphy, visited us in the form of rain storm after rain storm. We had a record rain fall at first which did damage to our property and bulkhead, and we had to spend a week or so repairing that. (It was so hard, and I’ve still got the cuts, bruises, and scratches to prove it.) I’m glad we did, as a few days later hurricane Patricia came through and gave us even more rain fall. And then it rained again. Luckily, everything held. So I’m hoping that’s a project we’ll never have to do again!
It was a lot of work, but it’s good to have it finished. Next, we have more projects around the house to fix, but we will do them as we can. In the meantime, we are devoting ourselves to the ministry, working for the Lord, while juggling that with fixing and repairing other things the storm damaged. Hopefully we’ll get ahead one day. But we’ll see. (Honesty, I’m praying for the rapture first!)
In the meantime, God is good, and has allowed us to see some fruit for our labours. We are so amazed at what God is doing, and we will continue to do the work he’s set before us.
Currently, I’m filming one sermon a week in both English and Spanish. I also am going verse by verse through the Bible, filming a one hour teaching session each week. On top of that, I make other bible study videos as well, as I can. I’ve now got over 250 videos on Youtube, and counting. The latest one was “Jesus vs Paul,” in which I show the difference between Jesus’ ministry and Paul’s. I hope you get a chance to watch it!
I’ll close this prayer letter with just some of the many comments we get from people who watch these videos online.
So thanks again for all your continued prayers and support. Looks like we might be able to travel more now, so if you want me to preach in your church let me know. We still have repairs to do here, but can travel on the weekends to preach. God is good, and we are so thankful for what he’s done for us, and with us!
