Welcome! Here you will find all of my prayer letters written ever since I started the ministry as a Missionary to Honduras, and then as I now am as a Missionary to the Spanish-Speaking People of the Americas. We hope to update this with our current prayer letter that we send out every two months.

June - July 2007

...the word of God is not bound.    2 Tim. 2:9

            Dear Praying Friends,

Truly the word of God is not bound.  And we count it a privilege to do our part in distributing the word of God so that it might increase (Acts 6:7), multiply (Acts 12:24), grow and prevail (Acts 19:20).  God’s kept us very busy the months of June and July as I’ve been continually Preaching, Printing, and Passing out Gospel literature.  But we have seen our share of Problems while Pressing Forward in the work of the Lord.

PREACHING and TEACHING

July 13th, Laura and I traveled for a three-day meeting to the little village town of Piraera, a four-hour drive from where we live.  The village is very close to the El Salvador border and is very tiny.  All total there are only 10,000 people in the surrounding area.  Even though the population is small, there are many cults which have already entered there, including: 7th Day Adventists, Pentecostals, and of course Catholics.  I preached twice in the evening at the small Baptist Church, and taught for two whole days on the subject of “The Errors of Catholicism.”
We hoped for a better crowd, but at least several Baptist Pastors came and took notes.  One told me afterwards, “I appreciate the information, and this will really help me to win Catholics to the Lord!

PROBLEMS and PLANNING

My wife’s 90-day permission to stay in Honduras ran out in July, so we drove the three hours to the capital city of Tegucigalpa to ask for an extension.  In the past, they gave her another 90 days for a small fee, but this time they told us of a new law which only allows a foreigner 30 extra days, after which they must leave “Zone 4.”  I inquired what Zone 4 meant, and they explained that all of Central America is now “unified” into one.  This includes El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  It’s interesting that they call it Zone 4.  I wonder how many other zones exist, as we know the Bible speaks of ten kingdoms which the Antichrist will reign over according to the books of Daniel and Revelation.  Could there already be nine others?

With my wife forced to leave, we will fly to the states in August, and then fly back to Honduras the same month, hoping they’ll give Laura another 90 days upon our return.  We plan to have our baby here on the Mission field (the due date is tentatively November 5th).  This will make it easier to get Honduras residency if we need it.

It appears that we’ll have to do deputation over again, as we’ve lost a lot of our support.  Our plan is to do the best we can until January living on our savings, and the small amount of support we are receiving.  The other Missionary here left for a six month furlough, and asked us to fill in until he returns.  We feel confident we continue the work here in his absence, doing more with less, and trusting God to provide.  But any extra offerings the Lord lays on your heart to give would be a real blessing during this hard time.

While in Honduras, I plan to tape many of my teaching sessions using slides like evangelist Kent Hovind.  Some of my topics include:  The Bible Issue, Soul Winning, Creation vs Evolution, The Rising New World Order and What a Christian Should do About It, and much more. I’ll also have a series against false sects, including: Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Charismatics, Catholics, 7th Day Adventists, and more.  I hope to eventually record these again in the U.S. while on deputation in the states, and make this information available on DVD in both English and Spanish.

PRINTING

I’ve recently printed my second book on the Spanish Bible Issue, and am enclosing a copy in this prayer letter.  It’s a little lengthy compared to my first book entitled, “A BRIEF History of the Spanish Bible.”  However, it is packed full of a wealth of information for anyone interested in the truth about the Spanish Bible, and the Satanic conspiracy against it.  Many still aren’t aware that most modern Bibles (in both Spanish and English) are based on catholic critical texts instead of God’s pure, preserved texts.  This book explains Satan’s plan to replace the pure word of God with a water-downed, Catholic version.

THE PURE WORD OF GOD IN SPANISH!

More and more corrupt Spanish Bibles are being printed by apostate Bible Societies.  But we thank God for our Bible Believing Home Church in Monterrey, Mexico, which worked more than eleven years revising the old 1602 Reina-Valera Bible with the Greek Textus Receptus in the New Testament and the Hebrew Masoretic in the Old.
They’ve finally finished the Old Testament, and have just started printing the entire Spanish Bible on a small press!  We look forward to getting as many of these out as possible, for in my estimation, this is the purest Spanish Bible in existence!  (We also desire to find another press who’s willing to help us print.  If you know of any, please contact me).

PASSING OUT LITERATURE

In both June and July we traveled to San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Rio Grande, Piraera, Erandique, and several other areas in Honduras taking boxes of tracts, Bibles, and New Testaments to local Baptist pastors.
The most asked for tracts are “All This I Did for Thee” and “Justified by His Blood” in Spanish.  We could sure use some more boxes of these, if anyone desires to mail us some.  Please send them to:

PERSECUTION

As most of you know, Honduras is mostly a Catholic country.  And even though its Constitution gives religious liberty to all, we’ve lately begun seeing more Catholic discrimination.
In Rio Grande, where Missionary Erick Sanchez works, Catholics went to the governmental municipality and asked for a court order against his Baptist building project in their community.
In the small Lenca Indian village of Sapatillo where Mike Lane preaches, the Catholics made an edict against him, threatening him with bodily harm should he ever return.  I’ve also heard that Catholics now tell the common people of that village that Baptists are nothing more than cannibals who have come to “eat their children.”
Even though the Catholic church is trying to intimidate us, we continue strong, taking the Gospel to the lost and dying world.  Catholics need to be saved just like everyone else!

PRESENTATION

My wife taped one of our Missionary journeys, and we have it now on DVD.  She followed me on a trip to Piraera in June where I preached in one of the mountain churches and passed out Bibles.  Because of our lack of funds, we can’t send a DVD out to everyone as we’d like.  But we’d be happy to do our best to send this Bilingual DVD (in Spanish and English) to anyone that emails, writes, or phones asking for a copy.  We really do want people to see what we do, and feel like they are a part of our ministry.  Prayer letters and pictures are good, but watching a video of the Mission Field is the second best thing as actually coming here yourself!

God bless you all, and thanks again for your continued prayers.  We count it a joy and an honor to work with you in serving our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ!

January - February 2007

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature
- Mark 16:15

Praise God for all his rich and glorious blessings!  The past couple of months, I preached in Florida, New Jersey, Iowa, Oklahoma, Alaska, and South Carolina.  God’s unseen hand led us each step of the way, and through our travels God proved to us our ministry is to preach the Gospel to more than just the people of Honduras.  After much prayer, trying circumstances, the advice of other Christians, and definite scripture (Rom. 15:20-23), God has guided us to expand the ministry to all Spanish Speaking people, as we desire to serve Him faithfully.
Eight years ago, I answered God’s call to be a Missionary.  After graduating from Bible School, God sent me first to Honduras to learn the ministry of teaching and preaching His word to Hispanicsmostly lost Catholics.  Praise the Lord, for five years God used me to lead hundreds to Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and plant churches!
In Acts 1:8, Jesus said, “…ye shall receive power…and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
In God’s plan for my life, Honduras was my Jerusalem.  He then sent me to Samaria—through our evangelistic journeys to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Belize, and Costa Rica, about which you have been reading in our prayer letters.
Now God gave the vision to broaden our ministry to the uttermost parts of the earth—from South America through Canada, “...to preach the gospel in the regions beyond.” (2 Cor. 10:16).
Since the southern border of the U.S. has disappeared, there are tens of millions of lost Hispanic immigrants from California to the Mississippi, from Miami to the Bronx.  Most can’t speak English.  God has placed a great burden on us to reach them with the Gospel and the right Bible before America enslaves them with perverted Bibles and numerous false religions.
In my ministry, the Lord sent me to the 48 continental states and Alaska.  I’ve even traveled from the Bahamas to the Panama Canal.  I’ve preached the Gospel in town squares, churches, homes, and schools.  Laura Beth and I even rode mules to remote villages high in the Honduran mountains to bring Jesus to the Indians!
It’s clear that God’s plan in my life is to take the Gospel far and wide.  And since the uniting of Central America into one political region without borders has greatly hindered us from obtaining Laura Beth’s visa, we’ll carry the light of the Gospel to all Spanish Speaking people of the Americas—for, Biblically, a missionary is not just called to a place, but to people.
We greatly appreciate all your prayers and financial support for the past five years, and know God will reward you at the Judgment Seat of Christ for your participation in our new worldwide Missionary endeavor.

We are now being sent from Iglesia Bautista Biblica de Gracia (Grace Bible Baptist Church) in Monterrey, Mexico.  Pastor Raul Reyes is a great Hispanic preacher, whose church translated and produced the 1602 TR Spanish New Testament.   They are currently finishing the Old Testament to improve the Spanish Bible to match the KJV and Masoretic Hebrew Text, and purge it of all critical text and catholic readings.
Between upcoming Missionary journeys we will return to our new headquarters to write and print books and tracts, report our daily journal on our website, and update our internet ministry.  We still receive many emails monthly from people all over the Americas wanting a pure Spanish Bible, and I mail them the 1602 TR.
We look forward to your continued support as we work together for the Lord to reach lost Hispanics.  I list our ministry goals on the back of this letter.  We will send you all a monthly prayer letter and receipts for your gifts.
May God richly bless you in this new year.  We look forward to what God will do, and covet your prayers.  Please visit our website at:

Brief Explanation of new Ministry Seal:

In our new ministry seal above, we emphasize preaching the Blood Atonement, the Book, and the Blessed Hope.
The red stripe signifies the precious redeeming blood of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:18,19).  The Book represents the powerful word of God (Hebrews 4:12).  And the trumpet represents our Blessed Hope — the promised Rapture of the Church (Titus 2:13, 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

Our Ministry Goals:

NOTE:  BELOW IS AN ALTERNITIVE JAN - FEB 2007 PRAYERLETTER SENT OUT IN MARCH.  SADLY, MY PRAYERLETTERS FROM MARCH THROUGH MAY 2007 HAVE BEEN LOST OR DELETED FROM MY COMPUTER AND THUS, I AM UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THESE.  IF ANYONE MIGHT HAVE THEM IN LETTER FORMAT, PLEASE MAIL THEM TO ME AND I WILL GLADLY POST THEM HERE.
Greetings from the Breakers!  We appreciate your prayers and support as we continually present the Gospel and a pure Spanish Bible to Spanish Speaking people.

Preaching

We spent most of January on the road in meetings in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia.  God is good and gave us several new supporting churches.

Producing DVD’s

In North Carolina, at Bright Light Baptist Church, I taught The History of the Spanish Bible in their Bible Institute.  My wife video taped it, and we burned the 2 hour session to DVD.  I’m enclosing a copy for you in English, and I hope it’s a blessing.  You may copy and distribute it if you desire.
Most Missionaries to Spanish Speaking people use the Bible Society-produced 1960 Spanish version.   As I’ve reported before, this translation is full of critical text readings and contains many doctrinal errors and mistakes.  Because of this, there is a movement by several Independent Baptist groups to produce and print a pure word of God in Spanish based on the Textus Receptus and King James, and distribute it to Spanish speakers.  These include the 1602 Purified New Testament of Monterrey, and the new Gomez Bible, a revision by Humberto Gomez.  I believe my ministry is not only to preach the Gospel and win souls, but also to point people to the pure word of God in Spanish and expose modernist translations in Spanish (and English).  This DVD will clearly present the History of the Spanish Bible, and help you see the need for the pure word of God in Spanish.
I also preached against evolution in Spanish in the Spanish ministry at Bright Light Baptist Church. A DVD of this is available upon request.
Finished Product

You’ll remember in January of 2005, Kent Hovind came to Honduras to preach against evolution. We recorded his presentation on MiniDV tapes, and mailed them to his son for processing.  The finished Bilingual English/Spanish teaching DVD’s are now available.  We received 50 copies in February and look forward to giving them to the Spanish Speaking people.   Copies are available from Creation Science Evangelism in Pensacola, Florida, at www.drdino.com.

Prayer Card

Enclosed is our new prayer card.  Laura worked hard designing it on the computer.  More are available upon request.

   Printing

I finally finished my latest book, entitled The History and Truth About the Spanish Bible Controversy, and we are currently printing it.  This book reveals the Catholic influence in old Spanish Bibles, the connection of modern Bible Societies with the Catholic Church, and how Protestants secretly work together with Rome to produce corrupt, critical text based Spanish Bibles.  Please email or contact me at the support address above if you would like a copy.  This information is very important because it proves the popular 1960 Spanish Bible used the critical texts and the liberal English Revised Standard Version in the act of translating, and exposes the ecumenical motive of the United Bible Societies for producing modern versions like the 1960.

Pain

Thank you for praying for God to heal my foot, which began hurting in Honduras more than six months ago.  I took antibiotics for a month to reduce the painful swelling so I could have surgery on February 20th.  I am slowly recuperating.

   Planning

We’ve been very busy here in the States selling things on Ebay, attending a book-keeping class in a local college, and printing tracts and booklets for the ministry.  We are also arranging our schedule.  We plan to drive to Mexico soon, where we’ll visit our sending church,  then we’ll ride a bus to Honduras to set up a Bible Institute for a native pastor.  Finally, we’ll sell our household items so we can have less dead weight as we travel throughout the Americas preaching and teaching.
We also are planning some meetings along the southern border of the U.S. in the middle and end of 2007.  If you’d like us to visit your church in 2007 or 2008 please contact us.

Because He Shed His precious blood for us,

November - December 2006

[NOTE: I DID NOT SEND OUT A PRAYERLETTER IN NOV. - DEC. 2006.  INSTEAD, I SENT OUT THIS LETTER WITH MY JANUARY 2007 MY PRAYER LETTER.  IT WAS WRITTEN IN RESPONSE TO MANY MINISTERS, WHO VIOLENTLY ATTACKED US, WRITING TO CLAIM MY WIFE'S SALVATION WASN'T GENUINE.  THEY WANTED TO BELIEVE SHE WAS ALREADY SAVED (BECAUSE SHE MADE A PROFESSION AT AN EARLY AGE, BUT WITH NO UNDERSTANDING).  SOME EVEN TOLD US SHE WAS SAVED BUT "JUST DIDN'T KNOW IT."  ANOTHER SAID I WAS GUILTY OF PREACHING A "NEW-FANGLED GOSPEL" BECAUSE I MADE SUCH AN EMPHASIS ON THE BLOOD OF JESUS.  IT WAS A REAL EYE OPENER TO ME TO SEE SUCH APOSTASY WITHIN THE RANKS OF INDEPENDENT BAPTISTS, WHO CLAIM TO LOVE TO SEE PEOPLE SAVED WHEN THEY ARE OUT IN THE WOLRD, BUT HATE TO SEE LOST PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN IN THEIR CHURCHES ALL OF THEIR LIVES GET TRULY BORN AGAIN.  IT REALLY SHOWED ME THE RAMPANT SHALLOW EVANGELISM NOW WITHIN OUR INDEPENDENT BAPTIST CHURCHES, IN WHICH THEY PUT THE EMPHASIS ON THE WORDS FROM THE MOUTH INSTEAD OF FAITH FROM THE HEART.  MANY TODAY ONLY PRESSURE A SINNER TO SIMPLY REPEAT A PRAYER WITH THE LIPS, AND THEN THEN PROCLAIM THEM SAVED, EVEN THOUGH THE SINNERS OFTENTIMES HAS NEVER HEARD THE GOSPEL AND HAS NOT REPENTED, i.e. BELIEVED THE GOSPEL FROM THEIR HEART.  THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM IN OUR DAY AND ONE THAT MANY MINISTERS REFUSE TO ADRESS.  BUT IT MUST BE ADRESSED, FOR THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE GOING TO HELL FOR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING AND SALVATION.
WHAT'S WORSE WAS MY HOME CHURCH ATTACKED US AS WELL, LABELLING MY WIFE A RETREAD AND ME A RETREADER, (WHAT EVER THAT MEANS, FOR IT'S NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE), AND CLAIMED I HAD DECEIVED MY WIFE AND TALKED HER OUT OF HER SALVATION, GETTING HER SAVED ALL OVER AGAIN. (SOMETHING WHICH IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE, FOR IF A PERSON IS TRULY SAVED, THEY CAN NEVER LOSE IT, OR GET IT ALL OVER AGAIN.  BUT IF THEY ARE LOST TO BEGIN WITH, THEN THEY CAN BE BORN AGAIN).  TO US IT WAS WAS CLEARLY THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD THAT WORKED UPON THE HEART OF MY WIFE AND SHOWED HER HER LOST CONDITION AND NEED FOR SALVATION.  BUT FOR THE REASON GIVEN ABOVE, WE HAD TO SEPARATE FROM AND LEAVE OUR OLD HOME CHURCH AND WE JOINED OURSELVES TO GRACE BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH IN MONTERREY, MEXICO, IN INDEPENDENT, SOUL WINNING, STREETPREACHING, BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH THAT PUTS OUT THE RIGHT SPANISH BIBLE -- THE VALERA 1602 PURIFIED. WE FEEL CONFIDENT WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE.  BUT WE ARE GREATLY SADDENED AT THE DIVISION IN THE INDEPENDENT BAPTIST MOVEMENT AND THE SHALLOW EVANGELISM WHICH LEADS TO MANY FALSE CONVERTS, WHO IF THEY DO GET SAVED LATER GET LAMBLASTED AND RIDICULED BEING LABELLED AS "RETREADS".  WE FURTHER SEE A REAL NEED TO PREACH THE GOSPEL MORE CLEARLY, AS WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THERE MAY BE MANY MORE OUT THERE LIKE MY WIFE WHO THINK THEY ARE SAVED BY AREN'T.  IT IS OUR PRAYER THAT THEY WILL HEAR THE GOSPEL AND TRUST THE BLOOD ALONE FOR SALVATION.  FOR FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS THE ONLY MEANS OF SALVATION (ROM. 3:25), AND IS SADLY SOMETHING THAT IS QUITE OFTEN LEFT OUT OF MANY MODERN SOUL WINNERS PRESENTATIONS.]

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord,

When I entered the ministry in 1998, I never thought that the greatest hindrance would be other Christians.  Nor did I think for a minute that other men of God, that I respected and appreciated, would lie, slander, and gossip about me, labeling me a heretic and a dissident.  But so are the days of apostasy in which we live.  I listened when my pastor told me, “The people that will hurt you most in the ministry are other Christians,” but I found it hard to believe.  Now I know that it’s absolute truth.
I’ve recently been accused by other brethren of teaching, “A man doesn’t have to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved.”  But nothing could be farther from the truth!  I believe that for a sinner to be saved, he must call upon the name of the Lord.  And, this calling must be BY FAITH FROM THE HEART!  2 Timothy 2:22 clearly shows that calling upon the Lord is a heart belief when it speaks of, “them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
This calling must also be “in truth.” (See Psalm 145:18).  Biblically, salvation is by GRACE through FAITH (Eph. 2:8,9) in the SHED BLOOD of our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:25).  The following three verses (which I learned in Bible Institute) prove this:

Rom 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Clearly justification or salvation is by God’s GRACE through our FAITH in His shed BLOOD.  We see this also in Romans 3:25: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”
Therefore, the object of our faith must be the shed BLOOD of Jesus Christ.  However, I’ve seen a lot of shallow soul winning in these last days, in which many so-called soul winners don’t put any emphasis on THE BLOOD of Christ at all.  Instead, they follow the modernistic BLOODLESS GOSPEL, which puts all the emphasis on the prayer of the sinner, claiming THE PRAYER is what saves a man.  Let me dogmatically state I am not against anyone saying a prayer!  But, I am against telling someone that their prayer is what saves them instead of their faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Far too many today do a shoddy job of presenting the Gospel clearly, and instead jump straight to Romans 10:13, telling a sinner he must call upon God from his mouth.  Many times, they command the sinner to repeat a prayer.  But what happens if the sinner repeats the prayer from his head and not his heart?  Is he saved?
I quote Dr. John R. Rice in his pamphlet “What Must I do to be Saved?”:

Many people believe that a sinner cannot be saved without a period of prayer, without consciously calling upon God.  However, the Bible does not say that a sinner must pray in order to be saved.  In fact, immediately following the verse in Romans 10:13 is an explanation which shows that calling on God is an evidence of faith in the heart and that it is really faith which settles the matter…The Lord encourages the sinner to pray, and the Lord hears and answers the sinner’s prayer if that sinner trusts in Jesus Christ for salvation when he prays… Certainly everyone who is to be saved must believe.  Prayer is evidence of faith.  No matter how long he prays, if he does not trust in Christ, he can never be saved.  If he trusts in Christ without conscious prayer, then he is saved already.  There is just one plan of salvation and just one step a sinner must take to secure it.  That step is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!

Here Mr. Rice states exactly what I believe.  I believe a person is saved by FAITH FROM HIS HEART whether he utters a prayer from his lips or not!  Biblically, a person is saved at the moment he believes or TRUSTS according to Ephesians 1:13, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.”
Let me reiterate.  I’m not against anyone saying a prayer! (Even though this is what some are accusing me of).  But I’m against telling a person that a PRAYER is what SAVES HIM.  Sure, a person can trust Christ as their Saviour in prayer.  But the actual prayer itself does not save anyone!  Dr. Peter S. Ruckman even states the following in his commentary on the book of Romans, “It is obvious that the mere act of praying saves no one…[but] practically speaking it’s good for a sinner to pray when he gets saved.”
I firmly believe this! A person can be saved WHEN he prays, but not BY his prayer.  This is why I’m quick to point out the damage that can be done by not clearly presenting the Gospel to lost sinners. Far too often in this Laodicean church age, we have people going around quoting Romans 10:13 without first explaining the Gospel, and without showing the person that FAITH in the shed blood of Jesus Christ is what saves.  Instead of instructing the sinner to REPENT i.e. call upon God by trusting his finished work on the cross, they pressure the sinner to quickly REPEAT a ritualistic prayer.  Often times the sinner gets confused, thinking the THE ACTUAL PRAYER is what saves him.  (This happened to my wife and many others).  This is the epitome of SHALLOW EVANGELISM!  For this can leave a person nothing more than a spiritual catholic, who thinks a mystical PRAYER from his lips grants him forgiveness rather than FAITH from his heart in the atoning work of Christ on the cross.  In short, this can leave a sinner utterly lost, with his faith in a PRAYER rather than faith in God’s PROPITIATIONARY BLOOD ATONEMENT.  (And oftentimes it makes a person repeat the prayer every night over and, each time hoping they'll be saved because they said the prayer).
I quote Pastor Ron Ralph in his book, “Bible Basics for Bible Believers:”

I strongly encourage you to NEVER lead someone in a ‘repeated prayer.’  If the Holy Spirit of God is dealing with someone about salvation, and that person is serious about being saved, he or she should be able to pray in their own words…allow them to pour their own heart out to God!

This is very wise.  We should do the work of CLEARLY presenting the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and then let the Holy Spirit deal with the sinner’s heart.  Sure, we can encourage a sinner to pray.  But we should never tell him that the prayer in and of itself will save him!  He must believe from his heart!  Let the words of God do the work of God in his heart.  And let him call upon God by faith when he is ready.
The problem is that most soul winners are more interested today in numbers than they are in conversions.  They are trained to get a person to repeat a prayer as quickly as possible, so that they can then go away and brag about themselves and how many they’ve won to the Lord.
No doubt some of these people really do get saved.  But I believe a good many of them have only made an intellectual decision rather than a heartfelt conversion of FAITH in Christ.
Pastor Doug Schorne makes the outstanding claim in his book, “Zeal without Knowledge:”

I honestly believe that thousands upon thousands have been deceived into a false profession of faith by well-meaning soulwinners who have been pushed and shamed into getting their quota of baptisms for the week.

If this be the case, what’s lacking is a CLEAR PRESENTATION of the Gospel, and AN EXPLAINATION of how to call upon the Lord by FAITH from one’s heart.
I recently butted heads with a real heretic who told me that calling upon the Lord means calling “only from one’s MOUTH,” and, “if a person doesn’t say anything with their mouth, they are not saved!”
He based his assumption on Romans 10:10, claiming that “confession is made unto salvation,” means that the ACTUAL PRAYER is what makes a man saved.
This strong emphasis of salvation based upon what a person says instead of what a person believes in is foreign to the scriptures.  According to the entire context of Romans chapter ten, a person is saved by FAITH from his heart, not by something spoken from his mouth.  This heretical twisting of the scriptures is what I’m against, as it usually leaves a sinner thinking he is saved by A PRAYER HE SAID, rather than by FAITH IN THE BLOOD GOD SHED!
This same man further stated that a person can be saved without even hearing the Gospel first.  In other words, he can simply call on God with his mouth and words, asking God to save him, and then God will save him apart from SAVING FAITH from his HEART.  I do not believe this.  A person must first HEAR the Gospel, for “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”   And then he must BELIEVE from his heart, not his head, for salvation.
Biblically, a person cannot be saved until they first hear and understand the Gospel.  No matter how many times a sinner calls with his mouth, he is not saved until he calls upon God by faith from his heart.  This is a simple Bible truth.
People can be saved WHEN they pray, but not BY their prayer.  A person MUST TRUST THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST before God will give him eternal life.  It is a damnable heresy to tell a person that a PRAYER will give him eternal life.  Sadly, I’ve found that many so-called Fundamental, Independent Baptists today ARE DOING JUST THAT!  In their zeal for numbers, they’ve compromised the Gospel and changed it into getting a man to DO something rather than instructing that man to simply TRUST (call by faith from the heart) in what Christ Jesus already DID for him on the cross over 2000 years ago.
Thus, to say that I believe a man should not call upon the Lord is completely untrue.  I do believe a man should heartily call upon the Lord, and this calling must be BY FAITH from the heart in the PRECIOUS SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!  Sure this heart belief can be manifested in a prayer.  But the prayer itself is not the saving medium.  Faith alone from the heart is what saves a man!
I’ll leave you with the words of C.H. Spurgeon in his message “The Blood of Sprinkling and the Children:”

Brethren, I do not think a man ought to hear a minister preach three sermons without learning the doctrine of atonement.  I give wide latitude when I say this, for I would desire never to preach at all without setting forth salvation by faith in the blood of Jesus.  Across my pulpit and my tabernacle shall be the mark of the blood; it will disgust the enemy, but it will delight the faithful.  Substitution seems to me to be the soul of the gospel, the life of the gospel, the essence of the gospel; therefore must it be ever in the front…I charge you, Christian people, do not make this a secondary doctrine…The center of Christianity is the cross, and the meaning of the cross is substitution.

LET’S STOP SHALLOW SOULWINNING IN IT’S TRACKS!  LET’S PREACH THE GOSPEL AS CLEARLY AND PLAINLY AS WE CAN!  LET’S PREACH FAITH IN THE BLOOD!!!  LET’S TEACH SINNERS TO CALL UPON GOD “IN TRUTH” BY FAITH FROM THE HEART!!!

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?…                                                                                                                -  Romans 10:13,14

September - October 2006

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Greetings from the United States of America!  We returned safely home on the 14th of September, exhausted from a long day of flying from Honduras, to Costa Rica, to Panama, to Miami.

RESTING

We spent our first two weeks on furlough partaking of some much needed rest.  My wife’s parents were nice enough to give us a week’s stay at their condo in Orlando, Florida, and then took us on a cruise to the Bahamas.  What a relaxing trip!

TRAVELING

Our vacation didn’t last long, however, as the entire month of October, we spent traveling through Tennessee, New Jersey, and Iowa with meetings all along the way.

WINNING SOULS

In Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, I preached on the subject of “When It Hurts To Be Separated.”  Afterwards, two youngsters walked the aisle, desiring to be saved.  I had the opportunity to personally lead eleven-year-old Steven Jackson, and nine-year-old Diandre Nix to the Lord afterwards!  What a blessing!  (See picture on back).

MAKING PLANS

While back in the states, we have a lot to do.  Please pray for us, as we have many important decisions to make in the next couple of months.  We also desire to upgrade my website, and make it nicer, as well as add a lot more information.

LETTING YOU KNOW

All our calendar is still not completely filled, so please contact me at the phone number above if you desire to invite me in to preach.  I have slides from the work in Honduras, and am anxious to preach in English!

Because He shed every drop for even me,

            Robert and Laurabeth Breaker

August 2006

Dear fellow countrymen, brothers in Christ, and prayer partners,

As I’m sure you all know, Satan’s plan of unifying the world with the UN at the head is quickly coming to pass.  Not only has Europe unified, but so has Central America.  All that lacks is the Unification of the Americas, and the antichrist will be that much closer to uniting the world under his control after the rapture.
This unification process makes it hard on us.  My wife and I went to the Immigration office here this month, and we learned that we can’t travel to the borders of Guatemala, El Salvador, or Nicaragua anymore to get Laura’s Residence Visa renewed.  They told us, “The new borders of Honduras (as part of the Unified Central America) are now Mexico and Costa Rica.”  So we’ll have to make other arrangements.  The best course of action will be to work towards getting a permanent Residency for Laura.  This is a costly and trying endeavor.  Please pray this would go smoothly.

Now on to better news.  On the 20th, we held a baptism service in the new church building at New Hope Baptist Church.  I baptized five people, my wife included (how many Missionaries get to say they baptized their wife?).  The others were: Neftali and Alfa Sanchez, Melkis Hernandez, and Marlon Lopez.  (See pictures on back!)  Neftali, a police man, says God is dealing with him about being a preacher.  Amen!

August 24th, I celebrated five years in this country.  I can hardly believe that time has gone by so quickly!

The 28th we visited a Mormon family and witnessed to them.  They had been members of the LDS for three years, but didn’t know much of what they taught.  We showed them many of the errors in the Mormon Church, and left them some material to read.  They invited us back later, and we showed them the film “The Godmakers.”  Afterwards they seemed a little disturbed that their religion taught that they could become gods.  We made a lot of headway with them, and they seem to be open to truth.  Please pray that this family will get saved and leave the Moron (er, I mean Mormon) church.

As previously stated, we have a brief furlough planned to the states.  We leave the 14th of September and return around the end of January.  We have a lot of meetings during this time, and a lot to do.  But we still have some openings in December.  If you’d like me to come in, please email me at XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

AN INSPIRING STORY

Will Borden, who attended Yale University years ago (when it was still a Christian college) is a great example of a Christian man who surrendered all to serve the Lord.
While in school, God dealt with him about being a Missionary to Egypt.  He then surrendered his life to do so.  He was a rich young man and had a big trust fund from his parent’s business.  But while in college, he decided to give up his fortune, trusting rather upon God than riches.  He then wrote in the flyleaf of his Bible “No Reserves.”
After graduation, his parents tried to get him to take over the family business.  He told them that he could not, as he was going to Egypt as a Missionary.  They then told him that they’d hold the position for him, knowing he would not like it there and would soon return.  Determined to devote his life to God and serve him in Egypt, he then wrote in the front of his Bible “No Return.”
In Egypt, Will Borden never started one church, nor did he even train one convert.  For there, he contacted a horrible disease and died.  His body was then shipped back to America, and the funeral was held in Yale University.  So moving was the eulogy sermon that twelve young men surrendered their lives to go to Egypt as Missionaries!
After the funeral, someone found Will Borden’s Bible and opened the flyleaf.  Under the two entries given above were the words, “No Regrets.”  He must have written this when he was dying of an incurable disease.  He gave up fame, fortune, fellowship, and even his life.  But his final words were “NO REGRETS!”  For he knew that his service for the King of Glory would be well rewarded!  Can you too, Christian, truly say you have no regrets?  Have you done enough for Jesus?
